Happy Christmas to you all

Not too early starting here - 7am is good in my books! House is now full of lovely prezzies, some of which are mine!! O just gone down for his nap and ds1 engrossed in his new Wii game .

have a great day all of you x

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 25/12/2009 11:25

Morning all

DD gave us a fantastic pressie she slept until 7.15 We then spent 45mins in bed just pootling with a pot of bubbles. We came down and she saw her kitchen he face was amazing and she knew exactly what to do with it. We gave her 1 parcel to unwrap and she really couldn't be bothered so I helped her unwrap the food for her kitchen and the rest has gone totally unnoticed so we will leave them until later/another day.

Hope you have all had fantastic mornings with your little/big/inbetween ones. Enjoy the rest of the day and eat far too much

QueenofDreams · 25/12/2009 12:29

Hi ladies. Merry Christmas to all of you and your families.
I can't believe how fast this year has gone. You ladies have been fab throughout.
S has opened two pressies. A coat from my sister and the dolly we bought him. He loves the dolly, but can't understand why he can't get his fingers inside her ears funny boy.
DP still hiding in bed, as we didn't have the best of nights. S really sleeps much better if he gets to bed early.

TwilightSleighing · 25/12/2009 14:20

Hellos sent from my new Netbook!!!

TwilightSleighing · 25/12/2009 14:29

Likewise regarding Awesome Hairy Truckers!! You all ROCK!

Kitchen is a big hit in the Twilight house too. The girls are very happy with Santa's delivery.

DH surprised me with a netbook. Never even looked into them so learning new things this morning.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Keeping my eyes peeled for all pictures on FB.

BTW Buckets my DH was very impressed with your food selection so far. I believe we are doing Chinese takeout in a few hours as you have inspired us. LOL!

PoinsettiaBouquets · 25/12/2009 15:17

Well I'm v impressed with your DH's surprise - I can't believe anyone could sneak something past you.

Whooooo! I am STUFFED!!! No healthy walks today though thanks.

DH & I v excited at idea of moving bedrooms around and having a playroom, just have to slowly illustrate the idea to DD and get her approval as the boys will do what they're told. Also means of course we would benefit from a guestroom (would have a midisleeper or bunkbeds in the playroom) and a toyfree living room, woohoo.

PoinsettiaBouquets · 25/12/2009 15:18

Oh and the boys get to bond by yadadada by sharing a room LOL

TwilightSleighing · 25/12/2009 15:39

Buckets I think you're room switcharoo sounds awesome! And yes, I too am surprised DH "surprised" me. When questioned how he did it he replied, "you'll find out soon enough." LOL!

DD1 is online registering her newest Littlest Petshop doll. Reese is wandering around covered in stocking candy.

steakyroastingonanopenfire · 25/12/2009 20:39

Do you know what?

I have had one of my best Christmases ever.

DD and I pottered around until mum arrived. We had a mad panic where we could not find either of her pairs of shoes - looked in the washing machine, in the oven (real ones not toy ones) kitchen cupboards, laundry basket, only to find them on the shoe shelf where DD had tidied them yesterday.

Pootled down to the beach to watch the Christmas swim, met up with bezzy mate.
Up to mums for champers, pringles - small child cannot fit 10 into her mouth despite much effort - Xmas dinner, musicals on BBC2.
Home for Dr. Who. Poppet in bed.

Lovely!

CaptainCaveman · 25/12/2009 20:58

Sounds fab Steaky, so glad you are happy and enjoying Christmas with your family

Nice work santa with the Netbook TS - I don't even have a clue what a netbook is?!

O been out of sorts today - it's 7 days since his MMR so I'm putting it down to that. Generally clingy and the world is just too much for him today, poor little lamb. Sound asleep now .

Fab news, one of my best friends just told me she is expecting . Due July 2010.

TwilightSurfer · 26/12/2009 03:36

There! That's more comfortable. Time to count this year down and OUT. Shall topics of warm places and beach vacations begin? LOL!

luckoftheirish · 26/12/2009 07:47

morning ...

hope everyone had a majical day yesterday and thanking you all for being truly wonderful the last year ...

got 12 people coming today to eat.. just lovely beef casserole but the feckin meat didn't defrost til last night and now it looks like no sign of cooking at all .. have just wacked the temp up and going to hope for the best ....

oh my new year's resolution is too STOP WORRYING ABOUT EVERYTHING!!!!!

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 26/12/2009 07:51

Morning everyone

I hope you all had a fab day and were truely spoilt. DD was but still has the majority of her pressies under the tree. Sweet little creature went to bed mumbling cook, washing, cook cheese. I think she might like her present!

The Ils were supposed to come around at 4 to have tea and give DD her presents they turned up at 6, wound her up and thought she would be allowed to stay up late as they were late but she was in bed exhausted at 7. I offered to take them home after tea and christmas pud but they had booked a cab for 11pm So I was very very rude and took my new books to bed at 9 as I knew DD would be up at 6 as normal.

DD now watching a little pig and pretending to eat wooden cheese.

Steaky - it was great to see you had a wonderfully relaxing day with DD and your mum. Were you tempted to swim?

TS - we have a new netbook in the house too, unfortunately not mine. I got DH one of these

PB - Plans sound good - I can't wait until DD is old enough for an upstairs play room.

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 26/12/2009 07:52

Morning LOTI

steakyroastingonanopenfire · 26/12/2009 09:52

only in my thickest of wetsuits or better still a dry suit with wooly undersuit. [fwuss]

steakyroastingonanopenfire · 26/12/2009 09:54

LOTI the longer it takes to cook the better the casserole will be. Get it to simmering and then leave it bubbling away for a couple of days hours and ply guests with wine and nibbles before hand so you can sit down a bit later than you planned.

CaptainCaveman · 26/12/2009 10:55

Hey loti and steaky and oops I've come on mn for a break been up since 5.30 with O who thought that it was a perfectly reasonable hour to be up. Ds1 is glued to the Wii. Dh has just surfaced but, hold the front page, cleaned the kitchen

TwilightSurfer · 26/12/2009 13:07

Still in bed here. Reese keeps wandering in fussing at me then wandering out. I believe she wants her juice.

Steaky it did sounds like you have a magnificent day yesterday.

Lucky thank you for the Christmas cheer. It arrived Christmas Eve, perfectly timed.

On that topic, I spent time yesterday updating addresses for next years Christmas card event. Feel free to message me yours if you'd like to be added. I've a new idea for the card that HOPEFULLY will work...a year in reflection. If I can remember I'm going to jot down a line from each month in the hopes it will create a much more personal card next year.

Captain my DH does wonderful things like that. He must think you are his queen!

Oops I don't think you were rude at all. I'd have done the same.

I hear the girls playing sweetly in their room with their new kitchen. JOY!

PoinsettiaBouquets · 26/12/2009 15:27

Ditto Oops, 2hrs late throws everything out of sync! I'm sure you've done the perfect Stepford hostess thing before so why on earth shouldn't you act like a normal person when someone is rude on Christmas day when you are pg.

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 26/12/2009 17:08

I forgot to say yesterday - THANK YOU TO MY SECRET SANTA, it is a perfect gift.

HotterTheRedNosedReindeer · 26/12/2009 19:48

Hello, Happy Boxing Day

Hope the quietness on here is due to everyone having a lovely time Sounds like there were a few upsets to sleeping routines though, including my two who wouldn't go to bed at their normal time, instead they cried until they were allowed back downstairs, DD then stayed up till about 10pm, DS until 11pm then DS was awake crying for an hour in the middle of the night, that plus my sister having too much drink and getting way bolshy again means it was not quite the relaxing Christmas evening we had been expecting. Still it was nice to stay at my mum's for a change, and we have all the Christmas day programmes to look forward to tonight as I am hoping the DC sleep like logs tonight after copious dosings of calpol and karvol...

steakyroastingonanopenfire · 26/12/2009 20:43

wotcha.

had a lovely day having brunch with a school friend that I haven't seen in 20 years [gawd I feel old emoticon]
Found out she spent a year in Oz working as a dominatrix
Is now happily settled in London with her DH and working very successfully as a tattoo artist.

Then round to other mates mum's house to exchange prezzies but barely got time to talk above the demands of the small peoples. Still lovely though.

One small fly in the ointment, or to be precise missing fly in the ointment is himself.
I texted him yesterday to say the times we were home to skype but no reply, no skype and no contact at all. I finally phoned this evening and got a "why are you phoning" so went along the lines of "well just wondered if you were going to be able to skype to talk to your daughter" got back a "blah blah blah webcam didn't work, blah blah blah parents house blah blah blah" so left it with a "sorry must have misunderstood what was happening"

But of course I couldn't just leave it so had to have my say and text him
"you might be cross at me because of our emails, but it isn't about that. It is about how you are with DD. At the moment you are the dad that did not ring on Christmas Day. Not cool"

I should have maintained a dignified silence shouldn't I? Mammysteak says I am not to talk to him and that I should see the lawyers first thing. Wise old steak.

HotterTheRedNosedReindeer · 26/12/2009 20:48

Oh Steaky darling but take comfort on DD's behalf that she won't have a clue that he is an idiot had a computer malfunction, he has a couple of years to get his act together before her memory really kicks in...

steakyroastingonanopenfire · 26/12/2009 20:48

It is that I can just see him being one of those blokes that make the shonky excuse that "limited contact was too painful so I severed all contact"

I used to kind of see what they were saying, not anymore! It doesen't matter if it might be painful or inconvenient to you, surely building a relationship with your child is more important than your discomfort. And if he doesn't start with good habits now it will be so much harder all round in the future. If he skyped once a week now then it would just be a normal thing that would naturally develop as DD develops.

I can understand that it is difficult for him to seperate logistics of DD from ishoos with me though. [gah boys emoticon]

steakyroastingonanopenfire · 26/12/2009 20:50

wotcha HP sorry x-post. I am cross in a very tired and sad kind of way. But really other than that last couple of days lovely. And got girls night planned for tomorrow and a wine and shouting at the TV night planned for New Years.
