5hrs sleep and an extra hour once i packed DH upstairs with the DD's. Ommitted to mention that although i was up till 2am, DD2 had finally gone to bed at 1.15am

Going swimming when DD2 wakes (lovely for her to be able to sleep now ) and then trying to find an armchair for FIL next weekend as he can't sit on our sofa. Apparently.

OMG, I have just persuaded DH to take DD1 swimming on his own as DD2 still sleeping and not really 100%. I may have muttered something about clearing up but think i will just go back to bed

morning, have my lovely ds all to myself today so just popping on before taking him to the park. Sazzles my dad is of that rare breed, he eats to live. Likes the odd chocolate biscuit (which usually constitutes lunch) so hamper not the ideal pressie for him.

Car is fab thanks , I keep peeping out of the window to make sure it's still there Drove home OKish yesterday including a few miles on the M62 but I keep stalling it like a big fool. I suppose that will get better with practice.

Got about a million things to do today, after it took two hours to clear the alcove for the tree and bring it in. I forgot how much crap treasured possessions we have piled up on high shelves so now my room looks even more like a charity shop than usual. Still got to put the many strings of lights on the tree before letting DD loose with the decorations, tidy up more, have a shower go to Asda in the car etc etc etc. Just want to play on the new laptop after DS turned the wireless off yesterday morning and I have only just worked out how to turn it back on again...

All go in the hots house then - sounds like Del Boy paid a visit with his second hand motors, computers and strings of fairy lights . Can you make a resolution to chuck a bag of stuff from the shelves towards a charity shop?

I have tidied up, got showered and dressed, made beds, put a wash on and made a cuppa . Must go and do the dishwasher and prepare veg for dinner, then i can sit down.

Sadly the shelf stuff is actually treasured possessions not crap, it's 95% photos in albums, frames and packets. My dream is for a house with a whole room of floor to ceiling cupboards where I can keep all this stuff and live an uncluttered dust-free life downstairs. Probably shouldn't have spent some of my deposit money on a car...

Well in the face of all your domestic goddessery I am going to look lively and do something before lunchtime. DS will hopefully be getting sleepy in a minute which will help no end in the tidying up

Lol at Dizz and Sazzles last night!

DS and I have had a lovely weekend on our own. We went to the soft play this afternoon DS will now climb the stairs and then come down the slides on his front feet first which he thinks is great - I just have to remind him to turn round sometimes otherwise I reckon he'd launch himself head first. We haven't really done much else just pottered around really which has been fun.

Wotcha. Me and Kurt are supposed to be at a friend's DD's 1st birthday party but I only remembered at 11am and had just started making my signature recipe, Sausage Armadillo, and DH said it would all be gone by the time I got back. And Kurt still asleep so I just thought feck it, Sausage Armadillo is just too good to miss.

Out tonight for the Ukejam Xmas Cabaret, can't wait to see DH's band perform. Am planning to wear my strapless cherry-print mini dress over jeans but as I don't have a strapless bra I'll have to keep my cardi on all night. (Boobs too saggy to hold dress up by themselves.)

As i was doing the veg, DD2 came in and said 'look, nana' and pointed to the fruitbowl. SO i gave her one and she said 'thankyou' . She has now just built a tower of 6 blocks so i'm thinking her night wakings may be the result of a development spurt (as all else seems fine with her, apart from a few sniffles sorted by Olbas oil). Anyone else experience interrupted sleep when rapid development was apparent?

DH has possibly earned top dad of the day here by giving me a wee lie in, doing dishwasher twice, ironing, cleaned the kitchen (now a post-armadillo mess) and should really be practising for tonight.

PS My armadillo can take various forms, depending on amount of pastry available, sometimes it's a scarab, sometimes an envelope, today was a tart really.

Ladies, any advice re ds hitting - usually in the face, me, dp, other children...not sure what action to take.
