Night all

Now i have the dilemma of faffing around sorting my hot water bottle or going and waking DH for a cuddle to warm up

Sadly i am thinking the hot water bottle and a cuppa may win [middle age spot from the horizon nears ever closer]

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 20/12/2009 09:15

I heard Port and Marmite mentioned, so thought it would be rude not to 'show' my face.

Huge congratulations to lwfh (if a little late)
I can't wait to see pics.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 20/12/2009 09:16

{{{{oh, and a big hug}}}}

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 20/12/2009 10:37

Morning all

DD woke at 4.45 yelling so we put her back to bed again and againand again she eventually woke at 6 yelling for milk but 'Noooooooooooooo, boopie now' so I traipsed down and got her some milk and she went back down until 8.10 but between her and DH I didn't manage much more sleep. DH got up and made tea and we all sat in bed watching crap the news until 9. We made apple pancakes for breakfast.

We have DH's work CHristmas lunch today so I have to wrap a pile of pressies before we go.

TS - Hellllooooo.

Sazz - you still hiding?

No1 - What's up?

PoinsettiaBouquets · 20/12/2009 10:46

Wahaaay back online at last! Have been told by Virgin helpline chap not to set up the wireless again without help from someone who knows what they're doing. Still, have had a few early nights and got some reading done.

The fever is now on its' third victim in our house - Kurt now fine, DS1 having spent yesterday in my bed watching Star Wars has perked up and now DD is laid out in state on the sofa under a pink fleece blanket.

My dad is round because there is a leaky pipe in the kitchen which has forced the brand new laminate up into ridges. Good job we finally got our heads out of the sand about it as DH & I have been muttering about the floor for a few days.

Weird weekend so far, just realised I haven't actually left the house.

CaptainCaveman · 20/12/2009 10:57

Morning gals. No hope of catching up here! Boys away at Grandmas until late afternoon so today will be a present wrapping frenzie
Hope one and all, and babies, are well and happy?

I am feeling good, having made a decision to take positive action on an area in my life that troubles me.....your prayers much appreciated (If you're that way inclined!)

cyteen · 20/12/2009 12:43

As you know I'm not religious CC but I will happily offer general good vibes and encouragement for your endeavour. Would be curious to know what it is if you feel like sharing [nosy]

poppysocks · 20/12/2009 13:37

Just a super fast dash on to say:

Great to see you lwfh. Congrats! Glad DD home ok now and your Mum is being such a genuine help. If only they could all be like that...

Sorry to hear about the sicknesses chez pb and cyteen. Hopefully you'll all be right as rain by the big day itself. This is the house of child vom at present. We seem to be through the worst and they're both sleeping now.

Sounds like there are lots of good parties and big hangovers on the thread, dizzy, vg, sazz, hp - anyone else? . Not as bad as anticipated here after v. disappointing show from my colleagues at work Christmas do on Thurs. Morale so dreadful that there wasn't even any desire for collective drowning of sorrows. Had a fun night though as met up with an old boss who is the biggest gossip and bitch I know, despite now being a man of the cloth . Last night was mother and baby group party (for mother part of the group only ). I was hosting and was fun but numbers depleted by too many people living up unmade tracks made impassable by snow/ice etc. and then several babies/incapable fathers calling back their wives. Only 2 major red wine spillages and in bed by 1 so that's an improvement on the last one of these parties that ended with a 4am close .

Hope your evening's improved qod and I'm not massively religious cc but great to hear you're feeling so positive about things.

So pleased you're feeling so well settled lentil. I had that feeling too at DD1's nativity (I was the embarrassing mother blubbing away whispering in a theatrically loud voice about my little girl being so grown up - effects of work Christmas lunch/glass of wine beforehand ).

Right, fast dash has once again turned into a huge essay so will go, but may not be on again until after the big day as BiL battling up the A1 at present having taken almost an hour just to get the frozen garage and car doors open this morning and he's here until off to Paris on Weds. So, happy Christmas one and all! See you on the other side...

Copious to one and all.

TwilightSleighing · 20/12/2009 14:11

LOL! Poppy your fast dash sounds like mine.

Miamla I will send you my email address. Oddly I sat through the GoogleWave presentation online last night. I am such a geek.

Buckets sorry about the leak. I guess it was your house were Reese got her fever. (just me being silly)

Waves Waves Waves Waves

Must go!

DingDongMiamlaOnHigh · 20/12/2009 14:38

TS...just sent one to your paypal address. hope this is the right one, if not, don't worry and i'll resend

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 20/12/2009 15:06

Now feeling even more sorry for myself.
just burnt my lip making some cinder toffee.
We have been house of lurg too for about 5 weeks now. I have just got over what dh and dcs had, to then get a severe infection in tooth, face etc... Never felt pain like it.
Then went to dentist to have it out on Thursday. Still in pain, feel like someone has booted me in the face.
OH well. Dcs are not ill so that is the main thing.
DS still has bad nappies, but ok in himself.
We are back on bottles,as he was sick after every drink of milk few weeks ago,so stopped milk for a week(threw all bottles away)

Then had a week of shite sleep as he won't take milk form anything else, so was waking up all night and starting his day at 5am starving. and dh and I were too tired to persevere,so went to shop and bought a bottle

cc glad you are feeling positive about whatever it is that has been troubling you.
oops I bet it is great having your dsis to help.

Hope people have recovered from hangovers etc..
dirty stop ups

Big hello to everyone, will try catch up.

CaptainCaveman · 20/12/2009 17:16

Hugs no1 praying your house is soon lurgey free!

Cyteen I have decided to redically cut back on drinking. With recovering alcoholics for a mother and sister, I feel I'm treading a little too close to their paths. I don't think I have a problem but I don't want to get to the stage where I feel like I can't do without a drink. We drink every night at home and whilst I feel ok, I can't help but know wonder how much better I would feel without drinking. Wish me luck!!

Ds1 is here, he says "Have a Happy Christmas and I wish you a New Year" (no mention of a Happy one though!)

cyteen · 20/12/2009 18:07

Aha, in that case I fully salute you. We drink most nights too and it's all too easy to get into the habit, so I periodically implement cutbacks and always feel better for it. In fact, when I was pg/bf I felt incredible and frankly looked a lot better too, because of the lack of booze - skin was glowing, I lost weight and felt all smug at waking up with a clear head every morning. Yet here I am, back in my old habits So you have all my support and I believe I'll be trying my usual dryish January

No1 5 weeks is a very long time to be suffering with illness in various parts of the house. (((hugs))) On the milk front, Reese refuses it completely. Once the formula days came to an end that was it. She will take milk into her mouth then let it roll right back out. Doesn't matter the type of milk or even the temperature; she just doesn't like it. I now only buy OJ with Calcium which she drinks by the gallons. She will also eat cheese in every form and "likes" yogurt. Sometimes she's not hip on it but other times she laps it up. It's not really anything to worry over as long as enough calcium and vitamin D are consumed. A good source is broccoli which she will eat cooked in soy sauce from time to time. We too went and purchase a bottle again but she refused it in the end. Who knows maybe she will be a vegan when she gets older. She's almost completely a vegetarian now, refusing almost all meats. Funny creatures these little ones.
