Ah, but that means that I haven't had any Christmas spirit to oil my sentimental side .

50ftChristmasTree · 25/12/2009 22:36

I've only had a tiny bit of wine CSWS and I'm normally a "stuff and nonsense" girl. Ah well, it must be the sentiment of the time of year.

Can't sleep Bloody can of coke grr. I've been looking online for a new tent I'm gonna try to get back to bed now. Hate it when I can't sleep.

Honeymoonmummy · 26/12/2009 09:48

MOrning all! POps been up since 6 [meh]

I think I might go shopping today. I want a decent pair of knee-high boots, any suggestions where I can look? I've tried (online) M & S, Barratts, River Island, Debs, Next, Schuh, John LEwis.

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/12/2009 09:54

Morning. Try Duo.

StarExpat · 26/12/2009 09:58

When do the sales start? Isn't there a big sale period in January in the UK and one in the summer at some point? Or is that wrong?
I've been up since 5 Q got up at 5.45 but I got a run... I mean slow jog in!

Honeymoonmummy · 26/12/2009 10:10

Star sales started 7am today. I suspect that MyJob is in Next as we speak... it used to be in the new year.

Honeymoonmummy · 26/12/2009 10:16

THanks CSWS, I should have said I want to buy them in a shop, I have size 9 feet and a lot of size 9 boots are too tight.

50ftChristmasTree · 26/12/2009 10:23

It's Jenwa that's the nutter enthusiastic Next sale bargain hunter! I think she has been known to queue at 5am! Is that right Jenwa?

How's the head this morning Hmm?

OP posts:
StarExpat · 26/12/2009 10:23

cool. I'll have to get out at some point with a serious budget.

Honeymoonmummy · 26/12/2009 10:24

Aah, thought it was MyJob. Oh I'm fine, I wasn't all that drunk

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/12/2009 10:46

jenwa's fb said next sale very early this morning, so I'm sure she was there for opening.

What about clarks then hmm?

I don't think I have extra funds to go to the sales Oh well I don't really need anything anyway!
I can't wait for Q to have a part time funded nursery place.... That's supposedly 2011 for 2 year olds, right?? When? January?

Yes I thought you did MyJob! I've tried Clark's CSWS, I didn't like any of them.

My brother has pissed me off. I've not spoken to him since the Christening in Aug when he turned round and said he wasn't going as he was working. He's put a status update on FB saying "I can't believe a certain person hasn't wished me a happy birthday [yesterday] or merry christmas!!! You know who you are!!!". In a way I'm glad the message has finally sunk in but I'm upset he had to publicly broadcast it on FB. I'm considering removing him as a friend on it but I don't want to make a rash decision. He's always been self-serving and never goes to family functions. Dad asked him if he wanted to go with him to the colonoscopy he had the other month and he chose to work then instead too. He's 27 going on 12 and I'm sick of it. I've been making excuses for his selfishness to DH for years, DH has been wise to him all along and I'm not doing it any more. Unfortunately, he's an electrician but that's the only down side

StarExpat · 26/12/2009 19:52

Aldo HMM! I LOVE aldo boots. I always get the flat ones, they usually have really cool looking flat ones... I can't do heels but I have some from years ago and just love them (4 pair!)

I don't get the electrician thing?
I wouldn't (personally) remove him HMM, but just ignore his behaviour. Have you tried to talk to him about not going to the christening? Was it really something he couldn't get out of or was he being a jerk?

Ronshar I'm wondering what your comment to lovesthechaos would be here. It's about healthcare in america but this poster seems a bit off her rocker... then I thought maybe I'm just not looking at it from the correct perspective... Warning, though I got a little childish and caved to her attempts to compare nursing to teaching even though I kept telling her not to. Then I took the bait hook line and sinker
Well, in my defense, she said teachers sit on their ass and only have to concentrate on one thing at a time... I was literally ROFL about that for a long time!!

StarExpat · 26/12/2009 19:54

HMM when I read your post last night that said can't sleep damn coke - it took me a few reads. I thought you were referring to csws and something about a coke!! haha

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/12/2009 21:18

Yes star, she was referring to my appalling coke habit .

Good electricians are hard to come by and cost a fortune star, so you never want to lose one!

My brother came to dd's Christening, and was the only guest not to bring a present. Said he didn't feel the need as he wasn't a godparent . Is it any wonder that he's not a godparent?! Brothers are shit.

Anyway, I'm knackered, so off to bed in a minute. Night all.

StarExpat · 26/12/2009 22:04

I didn't even think of that kind of coke!

Ok, got it about electricians. Then, HMM, just keep him sweet

I don't have a brother... but my sister is pretty horrible... and people wonder why I just want 1!!!

I can't sleep! Been trying for an hour now.

StarExpat · 26/12/2009 22:29

csws are you going to find out the sex of this baby? Are you thinking of a homebirth? Sorry, I'll stop with the questions!

I want to go to sleep. This never happens.... I can usually sleep quite easily as I'm so exhausted. I've had too much rest lately!!

50ftChristmasTree · 26/12/2009 22:45

CSWS doesn't need to find out the sex, it will be a girl..... because it goes boy, girl, boy or girl, boy, girl. Everyone knows that or at least that's what DS thinks. In all honesty I am utterly convinced it will be a girl. I am avoiding the sales too as I spent too much money for Christmas (as usual) and have bought lots and lots of nappies lately.

CSWS - My brother didn't come to M's Baby Welcoming ceremony as he was busy pooing. Poor fella and D&V. My brother is lovely and DH & I count him amongst our very best friends. My mum's brother (and two sisters) and lovely too. My Dad's brother however is a shit.

Pistachio - Your photos are lovely. Snow on the beach, how beautiful.

Myjob - Hope your plan worked and that you had a lovely day with your friends. What is it about boys when they get together?

Had a lovely relaxing day at my mum's today. DH spent some time with M as he is back to the proper world of work on the 4th. He had been working from home so would take regular breaks to play with M. He is going to miss her.

Honeymoonmummy · 27/12/2009 02:00

He didn't come to the christening I assume because I didn't choose him to be godfather, I chose my uncle instead. THis decision was based on the fact that he said himself "I'm just not a baby person" and he's seen her about 3 times since she was born.

I've decided to text him, I don't want to do anything drastic because I want POppy to know her only uncle growing up. I'll just text something like this; "Thanks for Poppy's present and happy birthday/ xmas. I'm still very upset with you for missing the christening but I want Poppy to know her uncle. I will be in touch when I'm less upset." I'll probably get a rude reply.

On a brighter note, I've found a lovely new tent, you can even get a carpet and a kids room for it! www.springfield-camping.co.uk/Outwell/Montana+6+Kids+Room/1588/pc Expensive tho at £600 all in and that's after a few hours of surfing. But then again it'll hopefully last us about 5-10 years so it's not much when you think of it that way.

Honeymoonmummy · 27/12/2009 02:01

Your DH, my DH and I will all be sad on the 4th Jan 50ft
