Oh bummer CSWS.

I only know one Jeremy and everyone calls him Jez, so that's what immediately spring to mind.

Well done with the running Myjob. I can't run because I dislocated my knee a couple of times and my kneecap is really loose so it hurts.

You two ladies (You know who you are. Star. And Myjob) really need to ease up on yourselves. I know I've not met you but there's no way that anyone could describe either of you as large. I'm sure I'd look like an elephant next to you both. I honestly have no idea how much I weigh, as we don't have any scales. I always go by how my clothes feel on me.

Star - sorry things are not great with your friend. If I'm feeling depressed I don't bother to keep up with people. Do you think her counselling could have brought up something that she's finding difficult to deal with? Could it be that she just can't talk about it with anyone?

We went to our show today. It was so lovely. Really simple but very imaginative. If anyone's in London over the next couple of weeks, they're doing a couple of other similar ones for very young children, and I'd really recommend it.

Ronshar - I hope today went as well as could be expected.

Pistachio - I am obsessed with chickpeas too! My obsession has passed on to DH now too. We put chickpeas in everything that they will work in. Yum yum yum!

We eat loads of pulses too. I love 'em! Last night was veggie chilli with black beans and tonight curry and dahl with loads of garlic in (and homemade oven-baked onion bhajis). Yum!

Honeymoonmummy · 18/12/2009 22:29

Hi all, eek I have missed soooo much!!! I haven't read back sorry, I'm having a panic...what are you all getting for your DH from your LO's??? Can't find anything! I hope you're all well, I have missed speaking to you all and often wonder what you're all up to but whenever I'm on the PC it's to put a quick update on FB or shop for Xmas pressies. I'm off to tidy the lounge, I'll pop back later.

Oh and I got my Secret Santa thanks, I'm going to open it on Xmas day, not sure if the rest of you are doing this? DH is out at his old work Xmas do tonight so I'm home alone with a glass of vino.

I'm fine BTW, ready to go back to work, went in to say hello today. I'm still on the AD's and they are working well, plus I've lost a further 6 lbs on weightwatchers so lost approx 1.5 stone now However, Xmas is looming...

Oh and Poppy's walking is still not quite there but she did 11 whole solo steps yesterday so not long now!

Will pop back later x

Aaarrrgggghhhh bloody molars! He's now had nurofen calpol and teething gel, and when I try to cuddle or offer any sort of comfort I get hit or bashed away or things thrown at me, so i'm leaving him to wallow and wail in misery by himself now.

Will explain more about the gd tomorrow as on phone so takes too long to type, but would like details of every meal you eat for the next week please pistachio (and star and Aubergenie and anyone else who thinks theirs will be helpful).

My concern was that you would all say jem for jeremy, which would be very unfortunate with our surname!

50ftChristmasTree · 18/12/2009 22:50

I wish I could like beans but I just don't. I love edamame beans but they are the only ones. I do enjoy lentils, love chickpeas, but beans I don't enjoy the texture. I am making it my mission next year to get back up to at least 7 portions of fruit or veg a day.

Hello Hmm - Sooooo glad you're feeling better & ready for the return to work. I am waiting until Christmas day too, I hope we all are! But mostly........ Wooohooooo!!!!!! Well done for losing 1.5 stone, especially whilst on ADs!

Guessing I'm the only one up. DD's been really under the weather and she woke me up about an hour ago, and her breathing was awful. She was taking really short breaths and kind of grunting. I thought she must be in pain or have her arm trapped or something. Like you do when you're half asleep, but it was literally her breathing. Called NHS Direct as I was instantly awake and properly worried and they said t take her straight in to A&E. So DH has taken her, he's texted to say they've arrived and I'm just waiting for news.
Poor poppet.
I've had the most miserable week. Can't believe this has happened as well.

pepperrabbit · 19/12/2009 03:11

DH says they've been through triage and are now waiting, DD seems absolutely fine now though......
Tomorrow is going to be a bit pants I suspect as we'll have been up all night.

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/12/2009 06:48

oh poor you and poor dd pepper. Hope she is home and ok by now. I bet a and e was busy on the last friday before christmas.

Not a great night here, but prob was in comparison to yours.

StarExpat · 19/12/2009 08:00

pepper. I hope all is ok now

csws I'll be back later with some meals, but lentil patties - made like sweet potato cakes cooked in the oven with cooked lentils are delicious!!

csws is a&e closed over xmas??

StarExpat · 19/12/2009 08:15

I think Q is ill
All he has wanted to do is cuddle on my lap and watch cbeebies and the youtube chuggington theme song - since 5.30
He's usually running everywhere from the second his eyes ping open...

StarExpat · 19/12/2009 08:17

I am enjoying the cuddles, though!

50ftChristmasTree · 19/12/2009 08:30

Star - A&E isn't closed over Christmas, I think CSWS was referring to all the alcohol induced injuries that will have happened last night. Especially in the ice and snow. A&E is grim on a normal Friday night without throwing Christmas into the mix.

Pepper - Hope J is feeling better this morning and that you managed to get some sleep eventually. You and DH will have to sleep in shifts during the day to make sure you get some sleep.

StarExpat · 19/12/2009 08:38

oh yes...... I nearly forgot that christmas is a big drinking time in the UK!!

Q has now fallen asleep on my lap - quite unheard of......... good sleep last night... ??

50ftChristmasTree · 19/12/2009 08:42

He might be coming down with something Star, but if he's not showing signs of illness don't worry about it. He might just be having some cuddly mummy time. M is usually up and about as soon as air hits her eye balls too but she occasionally wants lots of cuddles. Enjoy the moment.

still sleeping....tv on lights on... snoring away...
very runny nose Horrid bleeding bum. Got metanium and it's working. very weird poos.

I got my SS gift, too! It's under the tree. one handed typing sorry
lOL at jem + csws surname

never known a jeremy to shorten it. though dh has a cousin with this name and where he's from it sounds like 'jermy' lazy talk.

I don't understand the obsession with 'ez' here on names...

At my school plenty of kids with names able to be shortened but no one does because they say "my name is matthew" or elizabeth, katherine..etc... people don't have to shorten...

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/12/2009 10:45

Myjob - I managed to control my GD through diet when I was pregnant with ds, but it's hard, and most people end up having insulin injections. I was too stubborn to let myself need them, because it would have meant induction at 38 weeks. As it is, if I can control through diet, it means induction at 40 weeks, but after my induction taking so long with ds because he just wasn't ready to come out, I don't even want that this time.

pistachio - yes it's essentially low GI, but combined with my no dairy, no seafood and very low fat (due to gallstones), it's going to be bloody hard! Lat time the only thing that I could eat for breakfast was an egg with 1 slice of wholemeal toast, and there were only about 3 loaves of bread that were low enough in carbs and sugar for that toast to come from.

Right, that will have to do for now - ds whinging and pulling at me!
