Oh, just thought. I wonder how sausage is getting on now. Was it a morning or afternoon wedding? Can't wait to see the pics!

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 31/10/2009 10:15

Ooh yes - happy wedding day saus !

T'mum - I think I'd have an hourly countdown going on in my head until they go! Good luck!

Salem - Grrr! Those emails that get forwarded around really bug me. Especially the ones that say "forward this to 10 people and you'll have good luck for the next week" or some such rubbish.

flippin - have a great day

DS ended up in bed again last night from about midnight. I'm fed up with this and want my husband back in my bed and my sex life back!!

ScarySpangleMaker · 31/10/2009 11:05

Ses don't blame you for being fed up. Have you talked to him about it? I'm sure the lure of a sex life would help

Tummum oh dear . DH does the tea bag thing. It's a corian worktop which marks, and although as DH says you can get rid of the stains with an abrasive, who do you think it is who has to get the Ajax out? Grr.

Flippin

Hope saus is having a good day

Classic man thing today from DH. He gave H his breakfast of plum & apple puree, passing him loaded spoons so you can imagine the mess... and did he think to put a bib on?? Just hoping the stain remover works!

ScarySpangleMaker · 31/10/2009 11:06

Ooops Ses I misread your post in my haste and thought you were talking about your DH sleeping in the spare bed Obviously the talking to won't work! Sorry!

ScarySpangleMaker · 31/10/2009 11:08

Still sending you sympathies though!

TheDemonicButDandyLioness · 31/10/2009 11:44

Tummum

  1. FIL not clearing up after yourself - YANBU.

  2. FIL buying himself breakfast - hmm, not gracious of him but at least (silver lining time) he is going out himself and not asking you to do it. He's not expecting you to cook it, is he? Because that would be VU.

  3. FIL whistling - YANBU. I would make a 'jokey' comment along lines of "nice try, but unlike a dog, he won't respond to whistling" you twat

ScarySpangleMaker · 31/10/2009 13:10

What is it with FILs? Whenever he sees H FIL leans in close and clicks his fingers in H's face, saying 'Go on, smile, smile'

Monstermomi · 31/10/2009 13:55

spangle, about your FIL clicking in H's face. that's hilarious.

tummum, YANBU. how annoying to all points mentioned.

Salem, I hate those emails as well

ses, hope O gives you the bed back. we had H in the bed from 3am. I think she'll sleep better when she's better at eating food.

Hope sausage is having a good day.

getting ready for a halloween party tonight. we're going to a friend's house across the street, kids sleep upstairs whilst we have takeaway and drinks downstairs. guests are coming round ours first to break open a pumpkin pinata and bringing children dressed up . my dd's are going to be ladybirds.

Hope all of you are having a good day.

zombietom · 31/10/2009 14:22

he just dumped the teabag on the worktop? I'm a total slob but would never do that

My dad leaves banana skins and apple cores all over the place (on the arms of settees etc). I always end up muttering about 'think the bloody tidying fairy will come...etc'

Family do tend to treat babies like performing animals don't they? I guess it is because they don't get to spend as much time with them so want to see the 'best' of them iyswim. Maybe we should all train our babies to 'go fetch' etc for the amusement of visiting rellies

VampyJenn · 31/10/2009 14:43

Sigh....covered in puke again. DD2 this time. She's had it again since Wednesday. Ds seems to be clear, nearly 72 hours without it.

I texted the vicar and of course he is on holiday. I suspect there were complaints as there was a black mariah and a few pcso about. My old priest (according to my friend the vicar) was into heavy metal. Shame he was a completely drym, uninspiring chap.

VampyJenn · 31/10/2009 15:01

Just had to express, boob full as they're not being emptied, and only got 2oz. Oh well every little helps. Have chucked it in the freezer for Jan/Feb.

Tummum at FIL. I am a slob though. I use that many tissues, I nearly always have a handbag full of dirty tissues, a pile of snotty tissues next to wherever I'm sitting, apple cores in my car etc, but in somebody elses house? No.

FrightNightFebes · 31/10/2009 17:20

Funny FIL stories.
When my dad was here after R was born he got up and made toast and left early to get to a work meeting. When I got up I found the bench covered in crumbs and a cut mark on the wooden bench. He said he couldn't find a chopping board- Durrrrr its behind the sink and couldn't you have used a plate????

Momi Your plans for this evening sound great. Are all the DDs in ladybird outfits?? I want to see photos that will be so cute.

Ses It's hard when you have had broken sleep for so long. Our sex life is also non-exsistant as we are so scared to wake R when he is sleeping that we dare not make any noise. It will get slowly better. Maybe need some nooky on the dining table is needed .

Saus You will be a married lady by now. Hope the day has been great. It was lovely weather after a drizzly start here so hopefully you had a sunny day.

pulapumpkin · 31/10/2009 17:46

I've just taken DD and DS1 trick or treating to our immediate neighbours houses - the first time we've done it. They really enjoyed it .

We are planning to move DS2 to his own room soon, which means we can go to bed and be noisy (and resume relations, although i don't have much drive atm). As we have 2 cots (we borrowed one) we will leave one in our room, so that if he wakes at 3am, i might bring him into the bed and put him back in the cot in our room for the rest of the night.

pulapumpkin · 31/10/2009 17:50

febes- the chopping story is like something my mother would (and has) done, on our kitchen work surface . She also does the tea bag drop and has also spilt tea on our carpets and not cleaned it up, hoping we wouldn't notice , but DH is quite bad as he leaves them on the wooden chopping boards.

Toffeeapplemmum · 31/10/2009 18:20

Hello . Thanks for your comments on FIL. My last comment on ILs is that this afternoon, FIL wandered off with DD2s, without our permission, to buy them an ice cream in a shopping centre he doesn't know, without a mobile phone, and returned 30 minutes later, by which time I was a nervous wreck. My DDs can be awkward and I was petrified that he had lost them. We had rather a large row when he returned, DH was so . So compared to that, all teabag incidents seem quite nit-picky !

at other IL / parent stories.

DH and I are escaping this evening while ILs babysit. Otherwise there would be a double murder in this house !!

Fi hope you are feeling better soon. Glad DH is at home with you to help out

Momi please take some photos of cute girlies in ladybird outfits. Sounds fab.

Dandy thanks for words of wisdom and at suggestion of what to say to FIL when whistling at DS

Have a nice evening everyone.x

llaregguBOO · 31/10/2009 19:25

Just a quick note to Tummum: Next time you visit the in-laws I shall take a trip back home and perhaps we could meet up to escape have a few cocktails? Obviously non-alcoholic for me but I can pretend?

Hectic day here. We had DS1's birthday party at soft play and it was great but hard work. He had an amazing time and fell asleep in the car on the way home. The cake looked great! and he was thrilled with it although I'm not entirely convinced it was totally cooked. My friend came with her week old baby and those of us who aren't pregnant got very broody and clucky over her tiny little baby. We have another two friends due any day now so lots more babies to coo over!

Can't wait to hear from Sausage and see the photos. Perhaps we should have a virtual wedding night reception too? I nominate Dandy to make the first speech.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 31/10/2009 20:09

evening

tummum Y were NOT BU at all and I would have gone nuts at the wondering off without telling me where/when too... Anyway you're probably getting ready for your escape lovely night out so enjoy yourselves and have a few glasses of something delicious for me.

Good job I can type as I can't speak at the moment without having a major coughing fit followed by a mad dash to the bathroom to spew gunk

It was my dads birthday today too so we popped in to do celebration stuff for a while but I was too shattered to stay v long and really don't want to infect my mum & dad with this lurg either.

llare the cake sounds fab.

jenn sending you vomit free vibes for november... you've had more than your fair share in October.

Sorry to not name check everyone... my head is all wooly and i'm not with it atm. In fact if i had a Halloween party to go to this evening I wouldn't even need to apply any make up... look quite ghostly already with dark circles and feeling sorry for myself

A virtual reception in sausages honour may be just what the doctor ordered!

OP posts:
ScarySpangleMaker · 31/10/2009 20:13

Speech, speech!

Llare glad your DS1's birthday party went off well.

Tummum enjoy your evening off, you deserve it!

Momi another who wants to see pictures of your cute girlies.

No trick or treaters here, which is just as well as I ate all the special halloween marshmallows H and I carved a pumpkin - well, he supervised from his bumbo while chewing a piece of baguette. DH is off to pick up the Chinese in a minute, the wine is cooling and H is asleep

zombietom · 31/10/2009 20:20

ooooo are we all drinking a toast to Mr and Mrs Sausage then?

Jenn the end of the vomiting must be near

Momi ladybird costumes sound cute Pula did your kids dress up?

Hardly any trick or treaters here this year so lots of sweets left for us

Oh and re FILs I just remembered something that DPs dad does that makes me go arrrrggggghhhhhh- every time they visit I put clean towels in the spare room for them to use except he NEVER uses them he always just uses the towels in the bathroom instead ie; my towel, so I get out the shower go to dry myself and my towel is all soggy

EtherealFiByTheSea · 31/10/2009 20:25

no trick & treat visits here either... our longish driveway up to the house is dimly lit and kinda spooky at this time of year

OP posts:
VampyJenn · 31/10/2009 22:00

Fi Hope you feel a bit better soon. Sounds rotten.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 31/10/2009 22:02

Hiya jenn how's the poorly ones with you?

OP posts:
VampyJenn · 31/10/2009 22:09

No more puke since this afternoon, but she hasn't fed enough to puke up much. Think I'm going to have to express before I go to bed. Ds hasn't puked for 3 days now......

EtherealFiByTheSea · 31/10/2009 22:13

hopefully light at the end of the tunnel for you then. Your boobs must have been suffering with the lack of feeding I've never found expressing as effective as G for relieving the engorgement

OP posts:
VampyJenn · 31/10/2009 22:18

I still have a massive bowl of blood clot jelly with puss. Who's ever heard of kids not liking Jelly? Maggots went down well at lunch, and the fingers and guts oozing potatoes for dinner too.
