How's that?

I did notice they shortened it to Ludo last night which was fab too

am considering a MN name change but cannot come up with something suitable witty and fitting

sequinedsteaknife · 01/10/2009 21:00

WTF do they find these critics - well national newspapers obv, but do they have to play up to the cliches quite so much?

poppysocks · 01/10/2009 21:04

Did anyone see this article by John Walsh in Tuesday's Independent about being on Masterchef? Made me chuckle anyway.

Getting rather sozzled rahter quickly here....

sequinedsteaknife · 01/10/2009 21:06

yes, but poppy it isn't your fault, it is Masterchef's fault.

And yes love the shortening to Ludo too.

I wanna boy baby

sequinedsteaknife · 01/10/2009 21:11

ooh dear I have a PMC crush on Ludo - dya think it is the accent? Or the puppy dog eyes?

poppysocks · 01/10/2009 21:13

Did you notice the intended spelling mistake there? Nothing to do with the pernicious masterchef bingo. Nothing.

Ludo. Very cool. I shall wail for a boy puppy I think.

StrictlySazz · 01/10/2009 21:16

I'm being all feminist and backing the girly. I think shes fab

sequinedsteaknife · 01/10/2009 21:18

yeah but her sauce looked a bit mank didn't it?
Though I think the ladies are somewhat under-represented in the world of chefs anyway.

StrictlySazz · 01/10/2009 21:20

Ah, but she hasn't made it yet

poppysocks · 01/10/2009 21:22

I was cheering for her too but let the side down I think. Ludo all the way. with accompanying Ricki Lake stylee arm gestures ()

sequinedsteaknife · 01/10/2009 21:23

well that's all kind of magic I don't understand. They did repeat showing the same shot of her squeezing the tomato puree tube so she is going to make it over and over and over.

sequinedsteaknife · 01/10/2009 21:26

x-post - I am on team Ludo too.
"I vas haveeng too much fun in ze kitchen doing what I lurve"

LoveBuckets · 01/10/2009 21:28

Not watching the show tonight but... Am I totally weird or does anyone else fancy food critic Jay Rayner, the curly-haired cavalier beardy guy? In a Marco Pierre White way (ie really quite ugly.)

Sazz A loaf for the lady! Brilliant idea, 2 minutes work and endless praise for me. Plus more chocolate of course.

BIL thinks he is going out to play football on Saturday am, DH and I did much mwahahahahaahaing at this idea. I also sent BIL a text (haven't got her number, too shy!) to tell him that when Kurt was born we postponed great grandparents' first visit for at least 2wks (apparently they are planning to descend on them this wknd). However, I do feel slightly guilty at my glee that SIL and I finally have something in common, while the poor thing is in constant pain, freaked out and exhausted etc.

StrictlySazz · 01/10/2009 21:28

Don't say who wins, pleeeeeeeeaseeeeeeee [begs]

dizzydixies · 01/10/2009 21:29

no no no spoliers - have decided to be nice and not watch it till DH comes home

sequinedsteaknife · 01/10/2009 21:29

Just loving Ludo's Frelsh accent.

dizzydixies · 01/10/2009 21:31

la la la la la

sequinedsteaknife · 01/10/2009 21:33

BUckets I too have been pondering Cap'n Jay's crush potential. Not sure, he is a kind of less groomed more acerbic (sp?) version of Lawrence Llewyn Bowen (sp sp sp?)

StrictlySazz · 01/10/2009 21:38

LOL he is LLB . I lurve Mrs LLB BTW. Very off topic

Ooh hadn't thought of LLBness, mainly because LLB is the dashing Scarlet Pimpernel in disguise as foppish Sir Percy Blakeney. I'm assuming JR to be more the reverse?

poppysocks · 01/10/2009 21:47

Hmm, not feeling the LLB love (literally or otherwise ). When we were on safari he was filming a piece for the BBC Holiday programme and we were mortified to share GB passports with a guy who took to his feet in our safari vehicle and shouted at the top of his voice 'Oi, LLB, you're a wanker'. Despite the rather worried looks of the ranger, the lions were obviously used to such cat calling (ho,ho) and ignored us and let us get on with waiting for them to do anything interesting. 'Twas mildly amusing in retrospect.

LoveBuckets · 01/10/2009 21:47

Ooh LLB and JR could be in a Comic Relief Pirates of Penzance together.

dizzydixies · 01/10/2009 21:53

oh good grief you lot worry me !!!
