Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
StrictlySazz · 30/09/2009 21:17

I have just been out playing Netball . Blew away lots of cobwebs and lovely to do some competitive sport after all my swimming. Knee held up well and they asked me back so couldn't have done too badly

Busy day with swimming, signing, NCT friend for lunch and playing in the garden. Not quite so many ups and downs as Dizzy though. Blimey, i was exhausted just reading your list . Glad for all the , not so for the

poppy hope you have all managed some rest today and DD2 is improved. Have they given her AB's?

buckets no payment required for Ikea in Bristol either, You would think min spend would be £5 or £10 to qualify. Robbing gits

steaky hope you have a quieter night. Your attic room sounds lovely BTW. A big moon tonight too

ann how was DS tonight? Did he settle ok?

Red are you still illing over there? . Hope you can get some benefit of your Mum being around

miamla hows your arse . Sorry had to ask - one of those Q's you would never ask in RL but seems perfectly acceptable here

StrictlySazz · 30/09/2009 21:35

Oh and i have RSI from spraying aerosol primer and paint cans for 2hrs yesterday. How do the graffiti-ing yoof cope with this?

LoveBuckets · 30/09/2009 21:42
sequinedsteaknife · 30/09/2009 21:47

INCOMERS!!

Sorry for shouting but now I am a Devoen Dumpling it is the law that I respond as such to anyone saying incomers.

INCOMERS!!!

see - I can't help it.

erm anyway, Sazz what is this spray primer of which you speak. I have a toy box that needs tarting up.

StrictlySazz · 30/09/2009 21:51

Can't remember its exact name but is something like Projek Paint. You get it in normal DIY stores IIRC, Homebase/B&Q/Focus and the like

dizzydixies · 30/09/2009 22:43

too much wine consumed at 'meeting' if I'm on here in the morning please remind me I shouldn't be [meep]

buckets phone the mortgage people please

NezLiquide · 01/10/2009 03:47

Dizz at least the meeting (or the wine) should give you a few . Sorry to hear about new team.

Steaky seems like things coming along for the presentation or at least a good starting point and ideas.

DS up at 5 this morning and had to get up with him as he was demanding milk and am trying not to give in and go back to bfing him in the morning. His stomach upset appears to have cleared up but he still won't have anything but yoghurt to eat. Am v frustrated about this. All the books and advice says not to worry and he'll eat when he's hungry - they can't have had babies who just won't eat surely! He's incredibly determined and just pushes everything I put in front of him away. I wouldn't mind so much if he was a chubby little fella but he's not. Just when I thought he'd finally turned the corner with his eating he's back to worse than before - aargh. Consequently I feel like I've already done a days work and it's only 10.30!

Also need a trip to Ikea - no payment for parking here.

Was doing some hidying the other day and came accross the newspapers from the day DS was born (from Singapore and Mum and Dad saved some from the UK as well) was wondering whether any of you crafty types had any ideas on what I could do with them - or the headlines/articles from them at least. Most of it is Olympics related news as you would expect! I also found an article about babies expected to be born in China on 08.08.08 so very appropriate for us.

sequinedsteaknife · 01/10/2009 07:18

Morning.

Porrige and fruit on the table for you.

Nez how frustrating for you DD been extra picky recently, it is hard not to worry isn't it?

A better night all round here. A bit of fuss going to bed but slept 7 till 6.30.
just need to eek it out another half an hour.

As to your crafty needs Nez, I'm only on my first cup of tea so my creativity may not be top notch, but I would suggest scanning the articles that you want to keep and then you can print them out to use and keep the originals pristine.

Just read my meters, in a month I have used 113 units of electricity and 181 of gas. No idea if this is lots of little.

oopsacoconut · 01/10/2009 07:20

Morning.

DD asked for bed lastnight at 6.40pm and I had gone out so he put her to bed. I was expecting a rude 4am awakening but she woke at 5 for a feed and then slept until 6.15 She had been with the ILs and had only slept for 40mins all day. The bum doc was okay and won't do anything because I'm preganant but gave me some cream to use to ease things but when I got to the pharmacy they had to chack whether it was safe to use and 6 hours later they got back to me with the manufacturers instructions not to use it. So am in the same situation as if I hadn't been! Booked in with the midwife yesterday who I saw last pregnancy - she is a witch - and she was okay and is pushing for a scan as my dates are 'unsure' according to the other midwife. I have changed my appointment dates so I will see the nice midwife in future.

Snot - I am not crafty so DD's are in a box

Buckets - MORTGAGE COMPANY????

Sazzles - Netball sounds good I haven't played since school.

We realised yesterday that we have given away alot of our baby things as we didn't expect to have another one, so may well be going begging for things back once people are finished with them. We gave out other cot to a woman in DH's office for her daughter so DD may well have to get a big girl bed earlier than planned. DH came home yesterday mumbling under his breath about double buggies, the size and the space they take up - it was hilarious!

off to wake DH and pretend I have had no sleep so I can have another hour

oopsacoconut · 01/10/2009 07:23

Morning Steaky

in my previous post please read DH for he. DD 'helping' me type!

sequinedsteaknife · 01/10/2009 07:50

morning oops

hotterpotter · 01/10/2009 08:34

Morning all

Pretty good night here, DS needed sshhhing at about midnight but not a peep from them apart from that, and they seem to have got in a 7.05 groove which 5 years ago would have made me now makes me

Sorry to hear your bum trouble continuing oops Steaky electric seems very low, and your gas seems quite high. What gas things do you have? I can't imagine you've had your heating on much!

snot sorry I can't help you with your paper thing. Am a bit that I never remembered to get one when either of my DC were born

DC both whining, DS has just swished a load of soggy rice crispies off his high chair table onto the rug , oh but now he is blowing kisses at me and saying mamamama [melt]

We are off out with MIL in an hour to look at tents. Don't think I'm going to buy one, have been spending money like water the last week or so , but will be nice to see what these new-fangled tents look like for real

Dizzy you're welcome hope your hangover isn't too bad this morning!

StrictlySazz · 01/10/2009 08:41

Morning all, just catching up quickly - got preschool duty this morning. Heel hurting from netball as well as forearms from paint spraying [falling apart emoticon]

Hots, just wanted to say take a look at the Vango Tigris 500. We have it and love it at is so flexible

Good days to you all

sequinedsteaknife · 01/10/2009 08:56

Thanks Hots I do feel the cold so I have the heating on a bit in the morning and a bit in the evening. I have the room thermostat at 20. Both mum and dad said this was high - but I find both their houses flippin freezing!
Electicity is probably not a true representation as I've only had the washing machine a couple of weeks so will add half on again I think.

sequinedsteaknife · 01/10/2009 08:58

aha, just realised I mistyped the gas - should be 18. That's better no?

cyteen · 01/10/2009 10:11

poppy how awful for your poor little DD2 I really hope she gets better soon, a sore mouth is no fun. DP has had some sort of weird mouth soreness this week and has been very dragged down by it.

dizzy what a shame the three bitches will be joining you once more If things get bad there's always laxatives in the tea

I love Candy Anthony dresses btw but sadly my budget is unlikely to stretch that far.

Thankfully free of yesterday's hangover at last - I went out with NCT mum friends on Tuesday for dinner and drinks, was lovely but I felt somewhat crap all day after. DS slept through last night though, lovely boy so we're all feeling a little more chipper.

scuse me while I vent...

...feckin feckin benefits system. What's so difficult about the fact a child is born overseas and is a British Citizen?

Crikey how do people that have less support or spine than me cope? They've reduced me to tears today.

But I finally got some useful advice but having to talk to a different agency, again, to try to get a crisis loan to pay the utilities.

I know I know I shouldn't have been ebaying last week. Still haven't really got to grips with this being on benefits lark have I?

StrictlySazz · 01/10/2009 12:56

Done my preschool duty, DD1 got clingy, then overtired, then threw her lunch across the table. Now in bed sleeping it off. Thank goodness

I will take her to the CM this afternoon as i hadn't realised we are still in September , so my reduction to one child on a Thurs shouldn't kick in till next week, and i only dropped DD2 off this morning .
I am going to use the afternoon to go for a swim & sauna and to pop to Gloucester Quays new outlet centre. Partly driven by the fact that i managed to break another of our discontinued Denby bowls earlier and you can only get them in the outlet shops. I will not go into The White Company or Gap, repeat; I will NOT go into The White Company or Gap

Sorry benefits people are being crap Steaky, although tears are generally helpful in persusive situations i find . Hope you manage to get it sorted and a crisis loan if needed. Good news on the gas though, sounds pretty low usage to me. If you look on the back of the bill it should tell you price per unit so you can calculate how much it is for your monthly budget .
We have not had the heating on yet - i refuse until Oct. I may now try and last till Nov as our oil fired heating is very expensive. Happy to light the fire though and hopefully our new windows, curtains, carpets and filled crevices will improve thermal retention. Any heat just used to piss straight out of the window

Actually thankyou for remoinding me i must go and see if we actually have any oil left as it has not been refilled since about March

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 01/10/2009 12:59

dizzy for the 3 bitches on shift, and what a day you had yesterday. Hope things calm down.

Poppy to hear about the mouth thing too, poor dd, hope she is feeling better.

sazz good for you on the netball.

nez sorry to hear he is back off his food again. I know it can be so frustrating. I find it difficult to remain calm and not force bribe dcs to eat when they are off it. Despite all advice be, ignore they will be fine. It doesn't help to hear that does it?
Re the news paper cuttings well I make scrap books. I havn't started ds one yet, but soon will be. I have done our weddingg and one for Claudia whish is from Bump to 1 year.

It includes scan pics, rist band from hospital and all her milestone pictures.
Eg walking, weaning.Ist xmas and 1st birthday. I will gladly take pics to show you if you want. Really great idea for photos and any memorabilia(sp?)

oops so sorry you can't use the cream afterall. but glad you get to see the good midwife.
Double prams eh? I have had very many of them as you well know,I will gladly be of assistance and let you know what I have tried including the pros and cons of them all.

vg Hi, hope you are feeling better.

steaky sorry you are not sorted on the benifit front yet, how frustrating for you. Hope it is all quickly resolved.Oh and great about the job interview.

alittlebitshy · 01/10/2009 12:59

steaky what is the issue? surely you're not that an unusual case. I imagine a fair few mums come home if an overseas marriage breaks up.

sazz yay for netball. not yay for achey arms.

oops what kind of stuff did you give away that you need back? I imagine some of us who are NOT having an more can help fill the gap. Stuff is so expensive and it is silly to buy if friends have stuff in good condition. I gave a a few things to mums at school. One in particular who has probably 6 times more money as us but I would rather someone got good use out of the grobags than going to charity....

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 01/10/2009 13:05

X post sazz.

I wnet to work yesterday.
First time I have been away from both dcs for that long. 7 hours.

My mum has gone on a well desreved holiday and she was stuggling to find cover for yesterday so I helped out.

I honestly thought I had gone deaf. Was not very busy, so spent most of the day trying on clothes (some gorgeous stuff) and trying out the handbags on my arm etc... not to mention drooling and sniffing all the leather saddles and accessories.
I have made my self another long list of wants needs.

Got home to find ds had a huge egg on his head and a sore lip. Apparently dd had been hitting him all day. and she pushed him outside and he fell on patio smashed his head and had a nose bleed too . I was gutted.
Dh said he can't cope with her doing this all the time. He said he put her in her room and closed the gate, and left her for an hour. I told him this was far too long a punishment, but he insisted she played quite happily with her sylvanian families.
I felt so and guilty. Especially as I had enjoyed being on my own for all that time. I am supposed to be going back one day a week to cover my stable costs and now feel so

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 01/10/2009 13:07

sorry a bit me me me ....

sequinedsteaknife · 01/10/2009 13:12

Sazz which Denby is it - TKMaxx sometimes has it and there is a little place in Exmouth that has a green, a blue, a cream and a white discounted Denby.

alittlebitshy · 01/10/2009 13:16

no1 don't feel guilty. dh is probably right - he would prob have let her out/intervened had she been screaming in the room for an hour.

glad you had a good day!!

i have a big wish list atm. A lot of books on amazon plus clothes i neeeeeeeeed. i am going to hit primark on sat so that might help witht eh clothes for not ntoo much £££

sazz,=. er, how is it still sept? am i in a different timezone somehow .

what denby have you got?
our every day stuff is denby and is also discontinued. I broke a plate a while ago and dread it all breaking one by one (though i guess i'll get a new set once we'te down to not much .
