morning,

hope u all had good news.. we unfortunatley did not ... neither dds slept well, was awake for 3 hours with dd1 which is totally unheard of so i think she needs a trip to the docs tom..

little muchkin is still whingy.. wouldn't settle at all last night.. tho we let her cry for a bit and whe dh eventually went up to check on her, she started giggling at him ... maybe more clever than we think!!!

Anyway, propping myself up with strog black coffee and matchsticks... anyone else???

oh hots, sounds like a fab holiday very

luckoftheirish · 11/10/2009 07:19

"good news" i mea "good nights" told u i was tired!!!

luckoftheirish · 11/10/2009 07:20

ok, my "n" button still not working.. yee gods.. i need help this am!!!!

steaknifethroughtheheart · 11/10/2009 07:24

morning LOTI DD slept fine, went to bed an hour late, which I was hoping would translate into waking an hour later, but no, she woke an hour early.

And I'd been lazy and had all last night's washing up to do but boiler had lost pressure so no heating and no hot water. Fine now thanks to the magic of the t'interweb.

Porridge again here - not at all inventive in the mornings.

OOOOOOOOOOOpsacoconut · 11/10/2009 07:27

Morning LOTI - we too have had the night from hell! DD wasn't asleep until 10pm then she woke at 3, 4 and was up for the day at 5.20 [sigh] She is exhausted and stroppy as am I. Somehow I don't think the decaf latte is going to cut it this morning. I might have to search out some choccie. DH is snoring away having had a day home alone yesterday with a long nap and breakfast out with friends. Hope DD1 is feeling beter soon and you manage to get a nap in today at some point.

off to investigate the wonders of cbeebies!

Sorry about the rough nights.

Good one here.
dd fell asleep before her tea last night about 4.30pm and slept till 7.45 am

Ds went to bed at 6.50 and slept till 7.45am

He woke abot 3am and I left him to whinge for ten min.
Then he said 'teddy' 'teddy' in a really sad tone.
I ran in and his teddy was on the floor.
quietly gave it him back and all was well. Felt a little guilty not going in to him now, as he loves his teddy.
It was night two of not offering him milk when he wakes. So far so good.

UndeadLentil · 11/10/2009 09:40

It sounds like dd is on the mend No1 and that is so cute about ds's teddy.

Sorry to hear your dd is not on good form Loti.

Boilers are the devil's work Steaky so glad to hear yours is working again.

I have been cutting DD2's 1am feed right back, and she whinged and fell back to sleep last night. While waking at 3, 5, 6 wasn't great, it was still progress to get a longer stretch from bedtime.

DH has lots to do today so books to read, balls to roll and babies to chase here. DD2 has learned the joys of being chased around by someone shouting 'come back' and it does pass the time.

Glasses will be fine in the photos TS ...

steaknifethroughtheheart · 11/10/2009 09:46

wotcha undead DD can climb all the way to the top of the very steep stairs. Though she has to stop to huff and puff a bit in the middle.
She can also make it down feet first backwards.

I have been trying to teach her "feet first" for getting off the sofa but she sometimes forgets as I let her go head first off my matress on the floor if we are flumping around my bed.

I watched her go head first off the sofa the other day - very nearly did her first cartwheel.

Maybe I should have interveened, but rekon she'll learn quicker if she does it herself and she looked soooooooo cute. HAnds on floor feet waggling in the air.

SazZaVoom · 11/10/2009 11:00

Morning all

Okay night here although DD2 woke at 5.30, managed to ignore it till 6.30 though

DH has taken the DD's off to a friends farm so i am sorting photos. Have put a load on FB if anyone terminally bored and one of my new shoe rack and one of the DD's on here.

Must go print some pics for DD2's baby book now. Laters.........

steaknifethroughtheheart · 11/10/2009 11:04

I'm bored! House clean enough, cupboards stocked, not sunny enough for a walk, so maybe I'll bake something.

Scones, I think I'll make some scones.

steaknifethroughtheheart · 11/10/2009 11:09

witter witter witter

brother just phoned from House of Fraser, to ask me if I wanted just a food processor or a food processor with blender for my birthday. How very exciting.

UndeadLentil · 11/10/2009 11:19

Steaky, I am obsessed with my Braun 'bits that attach to a motor stick' blender thing.

dd2 has just been caught in the act of putting dd1's expensive Clarks shoes in the bin.

steaknifethroughtheheart · 11/10/2009 11:45

good grief that's blender porn

think he was looking at a kenwood.

steaknifethroughtheheart · 11/10/2009 11:47

right half a batch of plain in the oven, other half as cheesey.

We can have Bonsco for lunch.

TwilightSurfer · 11/10/2009 12:37

Night was good here. Not even a pacey search during it (i don't think) which is unbelievable.

Re Climbing: Reese is doing remarkably well with stairs going up and down, taking proper single footed steps. She can also monkey climb anywhere. I found her standing on the second storie of DD1's large wooden dollhouse a couple of weeks ago. Not a good place to be really.

Re Food Processor: My dad gave me one for Christmas, two Christmases back. I couldn't think of anything I needed and that was one thing I didn't have so vio-la! I've used it once.

Red thanks for the positive about the glasses. DH put it to me this way, "you never go without your glasses. if you were to be without them in the photos people wouldn't recognize you." I just feel younger WITHOUT my glasses.

Miamla sorry you've found my lost sore throat. It only last for three days but they were painful days. (((hugs)))

Hopefully all will go well and I can make it to Pilates this morning. I've rescheduled 3 classes this week. I'm suppose to go 4 times a week. Not the best start to a 6 week program.

HotMamas...if time permits I may try to find you and share a book that one of my pilates instrutors recommended on the topic of food.

Phew, finally caught up

Ann sorry you are still having sleeping traumas I agree with everyone who says DP needs to butt out at bedtime unless he is prepared to get up in the night too. And the no-drinking, wtf is that all about it could be a good rest for your liver but that's all

Oops so glad you had the scan and got to see the heartbeat, phew . Must have been awfully scary for you though.

Can't remember anything else, still feeling a little woozy from holidays, although 5 loads of washing and two moany children are bringing me back to normality rather quickly

DS awake from a lovely big nap and DD whining so think we will have a wander along to the park while another load finishes. See you in a bit (hopefully with fb photos)

alittlebitshy · 11/10/2009 14:15

ann sorry you;re still having bedtime issues. I amnot qualified to comment on nighttime issues seeing as I am too chicken to night wean ds, but I agree with everyone that a bedtome routine is THE key. I think we put one in place for both of ours at about 6 weeks. slightly tweakes as they got bigger but it signals bedtime and there is no question as to what comes next (ie sleep).

We had a wedding yesterday. loosely related to the church (groom's parents are regulars), and we got invited to the reception after dh did the wedding. Dc were not invited but for once i was . And we summned my mum (thus we got to pop out for dinner on friday too, and i left ds with her for church today as he is NOt his father's son and hates church .

We left straight after the meal and were in bed by tn. 2 wake ups (feeds) but a reasonably good night and i felt pretty good when i woke u. feel shitey now though.

Plus am traumatised by the news about stephen gately. I heart boyzone!!

AnnVan · 11/10/2009 15:22

Oooh undead I have that exact blender as well. Love it. My mum gave it me for christmas the year before Seb arrived
Last nigh was quite strange. Seb slept 31/2 hours straight, but woke just as I was falling asleep. THere were a few more wakeups and at one point he ended up asleep in our bed. And then he woke again and I put him back in his own room and I ony woke at 12 I couldn't believe it when I looked at the clock.

Hehe albs I was never a boyzone fan. But still quite shocking. Weird that there's no details of how/why he died though.

AnnVan · 11/10/2009 15:24

Ooh and Seb can do climbing up the (very steep) stairs as well. He's the reverse of Izzy though. He climbs off the sofa and our bed feet first, but hasn't figured out the stairs yet. We're currntly using my bookcase asa stairgate. He is obsessed wih playing on the landing for some reason. It's only about 2 feet square though so very worried about him falling.

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 11/10/2009 16:24

Nice blender, I think I have the low-rent version of it. Love the vaulting onion rings.

CaptainCaveman · 11/10/2009 18:23

Whizzing in very quickly as we are off out shortly to see Richard Hawley in concert . V excited. Grandma is over to look after boys.

O just had a trauma. We have a table with a lamp on it, he pulled it on top of his head and I just managed to pull him out of the way before the very heavy bottomed lamp landed on his head . I think I just aged 10 years in 2 seconds

TwilightSurfer · 11/10/2009 18:34

Captain OUCH for O! Reese had a trauma only moments before I left for pilates. She was climbing on the sofa beside DH then went head first over the arm of the sofa onto the hardwoods. There was a "smack" but I'm not too sure from where it came. Tylenol, hug and some deep breathing mixed with loads of crying (and stern looks at DH) and all was settled before I left.

Evening mesdames.

Finally got kitchen works booked, starting the Monday of half term. Big clearout a-comin' - meep.

Had nice day out with just the big 2 and friend&son, also went to see her brand new kitchen and help organise it as she was quite stressed about it all. She has a townhouse and is gradually trying to move the 'living zone' to the basement, the bedrooms from the basement to the top floor, then the office and spare room down to the ground floor. You can imagine the terror that might induce.

SazZaVoom · 11/10/2009 19:38

DH gone away to work, house tidied, pizza stuff sorted for playgroup tomorrow, DD's asleep, fire lit and wine poured

buckets great news about the kitchen - it will be well worth it

cece poor O, but great reactions from you . Hope he has recovered from his trauma (of which i have no doubt he is unaware) . Enjoy your night out

steaky i have a magimix which is sturdy and great. We used to have an all singing and dancing processor but the plastic just cracked

DD2 can do the sofa, bed and single steps backwards, feet first. She has yet to master a full set of stairs yet.
She was very cute earlier when we were tidying the toys - i gave her the saucepan lid and asked her to take it back into the kitchen and she took it and toddled off into the kitchen to return it
