OOOOOOOOOOOpsacoconut · 06/10/2009 15:48

YAY Steaky Hope they realise you are the perfect gal for the job.

No1 - your doc sounds good, glad she is brighter even if only on meds. DD was much better within 24 hours of hers so hopefully DD will be too.

Thank you everyone - I still can't believe it wa my bean. The couple next inline were sitting looking very sad when I came out and quietly tried to ring DH and tell him what was happening. When I came out from the nurse the bloke was sitting looking shocked and pale so I asked if he needed a nurse and he said 'no, they can't change the fact that it is twins'

alittlebitshy · 06/10/2009 15:59

lol at twins man!!!!!

a friend of a friend had this (she had convinced him to go for no 3. the scan showed twins). Apparantly dad was so shaken up that mum had to drive home. I had to giggle.

yay oops so happy!

and steaky glad it went well!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 06/10/2009 16:21

Found a recipe, wish me look

oops at the twins. Dh said that would be our luck. Try for one more and end up with two.lol
I always said you are blessed with however many.

lwfh · 06/10/2009 16:31

no1 - soften some onions/mushrooms/peppers/courgettes/whatever you have in butter

Add chicken if you have any cooked chicken left over.

Add tomatoes if you have them.

Add rice and stock. Cook until rice is mushy and water is gone. Add frozen veg about half way through according to cooking times.

Add loads of cheese and butter.

Stir

Very easy, but perhaps not exactly what other people would call risotto

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 06/10/2009 16:36

Thanks. Sounds yummy. I have no parmesan though.

It looks nice, taking a lot of stock though.

luckoftheirish · 06/10/2009 16:53

so happy for you oops thats great news..

well done steaky great news...

neither dds ate any tea tonight ho hum

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 06/10/2009 16:56

lucky my dd had no dinner or tea yesterday.

she had dinner today, but does not want any of my lovely risotto.
She has just started complaining of ear pain again.

Ds is tucking in and loves it.

AnnVan · 06/10/2009 17:38

hi ladies.
oops yay yay yay yay!!
I'm so happpy for you Little beanie with a heartbeat

no1 mmmm risotto. Poor DD doesn't know what she's missing hope she picks up soon.

LOL at twins. DP has exactly the same nightmare. hehe.

Is it too early to go to bed for the night?

LoveBuckets · 06/10/2009 18:24

Yay Oops!!!{grin] No1 Risotto is far easier in the microwave. Bung chopped onions, rice and hot stock in a big bowl, cover and poke a hole. Zap full power 10mins, check if the rice is cooked, stir and zap a few more mins if necessary. Add cheese, herbs and defrosted peas/sweetcorn (pour a kettlefull of boiling water on them), recover and leave to steam/melt a minute or 2.

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 06/10/2009 18:25

LOL at recover. Do you mean with a little nip from your hipflask?

steaknifethroughtheheart · 06/10/2009 18:30

Just trying out the Halloween name.

I am recovering with a glass of red.

DD packed off to bed early as no naps today. Poor little mite was knackerd but I had to make an emergency wine dash just before dinner so compensated her with the glories of Ambrosia creamed rice and tinned peaches.

dizzydixies · 06/10/2009 19:06

well done steaky

fab news oops and thank you again for letting me know - I feel completely cut off when at work as hotmail/FB not allowed and I'm not risking MN!!

glad decent Dr No1

lovely wedding dress story LWFH - I hated mine which still upsets me to this day, but not that much

cyteen gorgeous dresses - Marin is my favourite - if all a bit pricey can you have one made?

evening all else, had a looonnnngggg early shift and now waiting on the architect to arrive

steaknifethroughtheheart · 06/10/2009 19:22

Wolfie my offer still stands to make your dress.
If you are going down a vintage style then there are gazillions of vintage pattern stores online (too many to link to) but this blog is a fanflippintastic place to start.
Also lots of the pattern company's reissue old patterns - here is the vintage vogue page.
I made a very simple prom dress in silk - very like the ones from your link - for a friends wedding.

But also I won't be offended one bit if you prefer not.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 06/10/2009 19:29

Well the Risotto was actually very nice.
Ds ate loads of it.

Both dcs are in bed, dd had already fallen asleep by the time I had settled ds.
didn't need a cuddle to sleep tonight then.
I gave her a kiss and stoked her head anyway [soppy mummy emoticon]

steaky love the name change. I am thinking of one too. All I can think of is No1puts adevilinthecorner!
Must think harder...

You have also reminded me that there is a half open bottle of red that needs finishing tonight.

Dh at work so I will prob be sat here all night a bit.

off to pour wine

iwascyteenagewerewolf · 06/10/2009 19:34

steak that is very kind of you indeed and I might well take you up on it. Seems more sensible in a way to have a dress made here instead of shipped from halfway round the world. Of course I'd have to come for a fitting...will think on

Very good news re. the job interview btw, well done that girl

oops WONDERFUL FABULOUS NEWS I am so happy for you and the tinynut. Now get those feet up [stern]

no1 bless your poor little girl, I hope the painkillers do their stuff soon. My DS is a risotto fiend, although after today's non-stop eating festival I'm starting to think I could serve him up anything and he'd eat it.

I am shortly to be summoned upstairs for bedtime duty, will be back later.

OOOOOOOOOOOpsacoconut · 06/10/2009 19:57

DD is an eating machine too wolfie She ate a whole childrens portion of fish, new potatoes and peas for lunch then a mini lamb roast dinner for 1 for dinner followed by yogurt and blueberries. The had 6oz milk and crashed in seconds.

Steaky some of those vogue patterns are stunnning and I could imaginge Wolfie in some of them.

AnnVan · 06/10/2009 19:59

no1 lucky M getting risotto. Seb got served a cheese and beans omelette tonight Really not up to my usual standard, but I am bloody knackered after finally getting him to bed at midnight, then having wakeups every 1-2 hours (that's a wide yawn btw)

Pasta for my dinner is currently cooking. DP can sort his own dinner when he gets home

steaky I love those patterns but as I've said before I am a sucker for old style glamour.

steaknifethroughtheheart · 06/10/2009 20:13

Ann there is ONLY old style glamour as far as I am concerned. I am in awe of those folks that go all out for dressing and living life in retro. Funny thing is my own personal style is a bit more sleek and minimal, just seems to work better on me. Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russel are my idea of va va voom glamour.

steaknifethroughtheheart · 06/10/2009 20:25

I actually had the most fun at the job interview.

I was shown round the theatre by this brilliant, mad woman, who just talked ten to the dozen - but was so lovely and interesting and interested in me - I want her as my friend

And in the interview I managed to break the ice a bit and have a laugh - always a good sign. There are really big holes in my skills set for them - but I didn't feel out of my depth at all.

And it was brilliant to be in a theatre, I definately have a bit of unfulfilled loveyness in me.

The job would be brilliant, very difficult in some ways but brilliant.

Fingers crossed and all....

AnnVan · 06/10/2009 20:25

indeed - I think Bacall in the early days as well was something else. Anne Miller too for that matter

CaptainCaveman · 06/10/2009 20:37

for oopsabeanie

for steaky's interview

brb, gotta get ds1 to bed

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 06/10/2009 20:48

steaky sounds like it went really well. That is great. Fingers crossed for you.

Hi cc

Well I ahve had 1 large average glass of red and feel slighlty squiffy. If you could see the concentration on tyoping you would piss yourself.
I would apologise for typos but it would be no different than usual

I am checking out you tube vids on pole danciong.
Just about to book some more lessons to get me back into it too.

oops your dd eats like my ds

ann ds dinner sounded good to me.

TwilightSurfer · 06/10/2009 20:50

Oops I've been cheering for you all day. Great news!

Steaky pat on the back...nice job

No1 all will be better soon. (((hugs)))

Slightly nighmarish here today. Reese's school called because her spots showed themselves. DH went to get her and he said they were much worse. Now they're not. Phoned the doctor. He's out. Nurse called back and got symptoms. She called the doc then she called back. We're working under the idea that she's allergic to the new washing machine soap I started using Friday...her spots started Saturday. Since they've been on again off again it might means she's having contact with different items washed in the new stuff.

To top that off, while I was googling rashes causing major anxiety waiting on dd1 to be dropped off from carpool, I get a call from the carpool mom saying she hasn't even left her work yet. I ran out the door (leaving rashy Reese with her daddy) to get the girls. When I got there the line was too much for my nerves so I drove "out" the "in" then went around the school and signed the girls out 15 minutes early. To hell with waiting in a damn line. Lord knows I'd be stuck there when the doctor's office called back saying Reese needed to be brought in immediately. Which didn't happen but hey-ho.

HIGH DRAMA DAY!!

Hopefully dumping this all here will allow me to move on and be normal for the remainder of the evening. My DH and my DCs need that very much.

Again LOVE YOUR NEWS OOPS!!!!

Ann I think Anne Miller is so overlooked. Such a fantastic dancer and comedienne.

wotcha Cece and no1

steaknifethroughtheheart · 06/10/2009 21:00
