You will do spectacular Steaky. Break a Leg!!

Has anyone had a soup like this (if so is it good)??

Zucchini Carrot Soup (P, KLP)
Source: Internet
Serves: 4
1 small onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
2 cups zucchini, grated
1 cup carrots, grated
2 cups vegetable stock
1 cup water
2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped, or 1 tsp. dried
2 tablespoons lemon juice

Spray bottom of heavy soup pot with nonstick spray. Using medium heat, sauté onion and garlic 1 to 2 minutes. Add grated zucchini and carrots. Stir and sauté one minute more.

Add vegetable stock, water and one tbsp. of dill. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer about 10 minutes. Add lemon juice. Serve with remaining dill as garnish.

Good luck for tomorrow steaky! You will knock their socks off, I'm sure

Sorry to hear of all the aches, pains, letdowns, bad service, stroppy DC and bad nights Are we under a bad sign at the moment or something?

I've been warding off any such thoughts by obsessing over wedding dresses all day...think I might have found my supplier here. Would love a Stephanie James dress but can't afford it, and these look just as cute but more in the top end of my price range.

SazZaVoom · 05/10/2009 23:07

Those dresses are gorgeous cyteen you will look fab

I'm just trying on a new name outfit here too, but mine is free

Night all. Hope not to see you before 7 (in the nicest possible way)

UndeadLentil · 05/10/2009 23:30

Very lovely dresses Cyteen.

Just logging on quickly to say good luck to Steaky.

Don't be afraid to pause when you need to, and make sure you act boldly. They only get a snapshot of you, and it is great to see someone's character shine through ...

And good luck to Oops too. I'll be thinking of you both.

No1 - poor DD1. Do call the out of hours doc if she won't settle though ... You must be worn out with DS being unsettled too.

Do rant on here if you need to. I was a quivering wreck much of the time when DS was unsettled as a baby ...

Can I recommend DD2's new game by the way. Trying on everyone's underwear as hats is very good fun indeed.

UndeadLentil · 05/10/2009 23:31

Clean off the line of course ...

AnnVan · 05/10/2009 23:54

hey all. Seems like I have finally got Seb down for the night
It's been an epic one I must say.
DP just smelled his pillow and said it smells of fragrance but not feminine fragrance. I think it smells very faintly of his aftershave (armani Code) he says it doesn't.
Now I'm worried he's thinking the worst (nonsense of course). I'm probably just being silly

no1 hope your DD is sound asleep

lwfh · 06/10/2009 00:03

cyteen - my wedding dress came from oxfam brides.

Definitely worth a look for a bargain if you live near a shop and very good karma as well (although in fact the link that you posted is full of very gorgeous dresses, and I am not sure that you would find anything nicer).

Have I ever told this story? We looked up a local shop with a bridal department, I went with my sister, we parked on a meter with half an hour to spare before she had to go and get her hair cut. Rushed into the shop, which was just like any old oxfam shop, went downstairs to the basement which was full of fancy dress and costumes and had a row of wedding dresses in the corner. Tried on several dresses very quickly, my sister said "that one's nice, buy it anyway as if it's terrible then all that has happened is that you have made a donation to oxfam", rushed upstairs again to the two elderly volunteer gentlemen on the till, paid and zoomed out, at which point one of them called after us "good luck ..."

Anyway, I loved the dress (I paid about the same again to get it dry cleaned at our local cleaners again just to make sure before the wedding) and after the wedding brought it with me here, not sure what I am going to do with it now, but still really like it.

Sorry to hear about poorly babies, and still lots of thoughts for oops.

Greetings all.

NezLiquide · 06/10/2009 04:23

GOOD LUCK STEAKY!!

Buckets hope you havve a better day today

Oops thinking of you as well this morning.

My chat with the other Mum went ok and she rushed off to check symptoms on t'interweb and went back to see our doctor (she'd also seen the rubbish locum I saw last week with DS so hardly surprising he didn't even check for HF&M).

DS up at 4.48 this morning. This is really wearing thin. Fortunately it was DH's turn this morning so I feel a bit better than yesterday. Still my turn tomorrow....

Cyteen the dresses are lovely.

Hi LWFH how are you feeling? Have you fully decided on names now?

Sazz liking the new name!

luckoftheirish · 06/10/2009 07:01

thinking of you today oops fingers well and truly crossed...

good luck again steaky knock em dead ..

hope dd slept thru for you no1 and ds too..

well dd1 had a massive tantrum at 2.30am over a cup of juice.. dh decided that i am too much of a walk over and stood firm in putting her in her room and leaving her to scream.. hardest 30 minutes of my life and she finally stopped came in and said sorry.. guess the hard way and being firm is the way to go.. i'm just no good at it..

dd2 woke up 4 times again last night and up for good at 6.15am... man i'm so tired..

hope u all have better days today xx

OOOOOOOOOOOpsacoconut · 06/10/2009 08:01

GOOD* LUCK* STEAKY*

iwascyteenagewerewolf · 06/10/2009 08:41

And good luck to you oops Hope you get your first glimpse of bean no.2!

LoveBuckets · 06/10/2009 09:28

Cyteen OH YES!!! That's the store! When's the wedding?

TS Soup looks pretty foolproof but I can't stand dill personally (I make DH eat the pickles from my BigMac) so would go for tarragon or just fresh basil.

Steaky Good luck and remember to do a big eye-contacty cheesey Tom Cruise grin with your handshake.

Hope things improve for those with poorly/sleepless babies right now, I should really count my blessings.

Well, not all is lost here. DH is going to phone the mortgage co again and reapply for the minimum we need to get the kitchen plans moving. For some reason it's like a sealed bid system, they won't tell us what the maximum we can borrow is. So maybe if we can get the basic loan we can keep trying to get it increased til they no again.

And my DSis is having Kurt for an hour or so today while I use my birthday pedicure voucher (from her.) So I really can't complain can I?

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 06/10/2009 09:53

Good luck steaky!!!

wolfie they are absolutely gorgeous! Wow wow wow. A friend of mine had a short - above the shoulder - sticky-outy 50s style wedding veil and it was fab. Just the other day I was ogling the rather more cutprice Viven of Holloway which is roughly the same idea but not nearly as prettily executed as those. Lucky you!

Any musical types like a rather sweet treat this morning have a little listen to Julie Feeney singing Impossibly Beautiful in a selection of fetching hats. (She did the whole thing herself btw). Undead your dd could have had a bit part with her headwear! How's your general lurgy?

Oops hope you were still feeling good this morning, sending you all the best xxx.

Sazz hope little dd1 got up feeling more right with the world today and full of love.

No1 hope you are not wrecked & hope dd had an ok night with ear.

lwfh great story! How's la bumpa?

Nez glad your chat went well! One of those things you can agonise about and when you seize the nettle it's fine & worth it.

LOTI I recommend this book for avoidling those kinds of situations, you don't have to be a walkover but you don't have to "win" every time either. I have probably recommended it before, I swear by it! I'll even send you a copy if you like! HOpe you have a good day today.

Please ladies start the day (most of you probably half way through your days) with Julie Feeney.

iwascyteenagewerewolf · 06/10/2009 10:42

Wedding is 25th September 2010 . VG I was originally looking at Vivien of Holloway as I love her dresses and was drawn to the cheapness, but I kind of think that splashing out a little on one's wedding frock is allowed. I might put my bridesmaids in Vivien dresses, they will look totally boss.

Buckets my fingers are crossed for your mortgage dealio. It's very complicated, all this grown-up business, eh?

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 06/10/2009 10:48

less than a year away! God you are totally right to get the lushest you can manage, you will feel fantastic. Cute bridesmaids all in same cut dresses in different colours?

Buckets sorry I missed your mortgage refusal how shite.

alittlebitshy · 06/10/2009 12:24

OOOOOOPS and steaky good luck!!!

will come on later and try to ctah up!

AnnVan · 06/10/2009 12:49

Yes much luck to Oops and Steaky. let us know how things go today guys

OOOOOOOOOOOpsacoconut · 06/10/2009 14:42

I saw a little BEANIE with a super strong heartbeat. It was amazing to see, with DD they said can you see it we squinted smiled and said yes but both came out not sure we saw anything but today it was a very clear little heartbeat, she showed me where the arms and legs were forming it measured a tiny 4.5mm but she said it might not be accurate as it is so early. I have to go back in 2 weeks for a re-scan and proper dating scan.

Now we are in a bit of a pickle as I was down to deliver in Bath but Swindon was fantastic, brand new state of the art delivery suite, lovely staff BUT Bath is where I had an amazing experience last time. Came home to a scan letter from Bath for a dating scan 3days after my follow up at Swindon. What to do?

Steaky hope you day has been as good as mine.

UndeadLentil · 06/10/2009 14:44

That's fantastic news, and your hospital dilemma is a nice one to have if you see what I mean.

Hurrah for good news!

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 06/10/2009 14:59

for you Oops and the littlest coconut.

That is just lovely.

SazZaVoom · 06/10/2009 15:01

Lovely, lovely, lovely

I would go with Swindon so i can come and visit easily when oopsabean hatches

sequinedsteaknife · 06/10/2009 15:23

Wonderful news oops

just popping in to say that interview went well. They are seeing 3 others and either make an appointment or go to 2nd interview. Will know by next week.

SazZaVoom · 06/10/2009 15:32

Hurrah for steaky too

'Tis all lovely

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 06/10/2009 15:40

oops How wonderful I am so so very very pleased and happy for you.

wolf wow the dresses are amazing.

ts thanks for the link I ma going to look now. That recipe looks great.

buckets fingers crossed for you.

steaky glad it went well for you. How do you feel??

lucky I am the tough one here and dh is a push over .
vg I am going to look for that book now. and check out the link.

sazz hope dd1 is ok this morning re the incident. DD also does the lash out thing too. Usually when told off for something or can't have something.
lwfh love that story about how you got the dress.
nez glad it went well, hope the boy gets the right treatment.

Bit of a rough night with poor dd, went to doc this am, and she fell asleep on my knee in the waiting room. (very unusual)
Everyone was laughing as she was snoring very loud. She was very brave for the doctor and let him look inher ear.(which I wasn't allowed to touch)
He said to leave her for 24-48 hour and if no better then she can have antibiotic.
She seems a little brighter atm dosed up on calpol and neurofen.
The doc was one of the best I have seen. Geat manner with dd. However I got slighlty worried when he googled.
He googled otisis media and showed me diagram of inner ear and explained everything thoroughly.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 06/10/2009 15:47

I fancy making a Risotto.

Nevr made one before infact I have never tasted it before.

Got some Shitake mushrooms. Can I use these?
Any one got any recipes?
Is it easy?

If I have to stand and stir stir stir then that could be tricky as ds still not happy being put down atm.
