Buckets- {{{HUGS}}} sorry to hear today has been so crap. Mortgages are particularly difficult things at the moment and they are more likely to say no than look at the bigger picture.

Well today I have spoken to no less than 10 people about my cooker, the one who promised me a posh one had no authority to do so and is now in trouble, everyone else can't do anything outside the frame work as they have no authority. I lost me cool and phoned the company MD who has his PA sorting it out and I have spoken to him and he has heard all my whinges, calls made, people spoken to and that I refuse to feed my child microwave meals until they get their thumb out. I will have a cooker this week and compensation for stress and out of pocket expenses. DD and I had lunch at Pizza express and she loves their chicken pesto pasta, weetabix and yoggies for dinner. We arehaving leftovers from yesterday.

Sazz - thanks again for your offer. DH asked his mum before I got a chance to veto his suggestion. I know who's company I would prefer.

TS - hope you are feeling less sore, I found that lots of gentle moving helps ease the pain. Sounds like DOMS It is some of the worst pain I have ever been in!

Hugs to all who are feeling rough and hope your littles let you sleep tonight.

Steaky - Will be sending loads of positive vibes for your interview tomorrow. I t will be fine and you will knock 'em dead!

sequinedsteaknife · 05/10/2009 18:29

Reading about DOMS reminded me of going back to uni after summer break. The first week back in dance class was always a killer. One year I had to bum shuffle down the stairs in my house during the first week as I ached so much. No Pain No Gain as the Mighty Fonda once said (I think)

I think I am catching up in the house. Living room is better not having the sideboard as an extra clutter surface. Toys tidied, washing up done and my supper put on before DD had her supper. Dark wash in the machine. Now I just need to clean up DD's supper things, write a presentation, have a shower and tackle the deforestation area that is my legs. Ah the glamour.

Ann at that birth story.

oops remind me not to get on the wrong side of you.

TS You might find some gentle stretching in a warm bath helps as the muscles will be all relaxed in the water

Buckets sorry you are feeling under the weather and had no joy with the mortgage company.

for everyone else

StrictlySazz · 05/10/2009 19:00

DD's in bed at 6.45

DD1 had a minor meltdown, whacked DD2 . She is very remorseful now and went to bed fine. Hopefully just the end of her illness passing

TS hope you are managing to relax and not do too much

steaky nice to hear things are getting sorted in the house and hopefully DD will stay asleep to let you prepare for tomorrow. Good luck

oops well done you on sorting things out and sounds like the MD didn't know what hit him . Just sorry it came to that, especially at this time. Hope all goes well tomorrow

buckets hope you are tucked up nicely in bed. My AF has been playing silly buggers with my feelings this month too. Must be the full moon effect

Poor littleNo1, definitely not bad mummy and i hope the medised lets her get some sleep before you get to the docs. So many nasties going round atm

I am currently ignoring the devastation around here that an afternoon at home has wreaked

TwilightSurfer · 05/10/2009 19:07

Oops you are a Goddess!! That is exactly it! I went through a similar spell during bootcamp. Same location even. I am taking it easy today. Doing the ibuprofen. Oddly I did ice it yesterday before the pain hit last night (old jock days never disappear). By Thursday I should be feeling well again and all the better for class. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Rested. Reese & I had chicken, parmensan couscous, tomatoes and black beans for lunch. Dinner will be the Mexican Soup I made yesterday. Reese has already been bathed. And lastly, I have walnut brownies baking in the oven.

Reese is still spotty. Her diapers are a bit too. We might have been hit with a mild virus afterall. This has got to be the tail end (since her temp was up slightly over the weekend). Hopefully she'll be go to go to Mom's Day Out tomorrow....cause I'm getting a new do (hairdo that is).

Buckets come sit with me. I've got margaritas to help with the "mood" we're in. Anyone else feeling bummed??

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 05/10/2009 19:11

oops Good for you getting things sorted, like sazz says it shouldn't have had to be like that.
hope all ok for tomorow.

buckets sorry you are feeling down, and that you can't get the kitchen. Hopefully there may be some way round it. I know how excited you were about it.

sazz sorry to hear dd1 hit dd2 I totally understand how it feels.

DD awake and is constantly crying about her ear. Not sure what to do.
Going to try get ds to bed.(hard because she does not want me to leave her)
She hasn't had any dinner or tea either.

StrictlySazz · 05/10/2009 19:16

no1 i would phone the out of hrs doc if she is in that much pain . I have done this before and they have been very good. when is DH home as they may want you to take her somewhere? in the meantime i would put Ds to bed and cuddle up on the sofa with her

CaptainCaveman · 05/10/2009 19:29

Sorry for posting and running last night - I was summoned to put ds2 to bed. Then we went to the pub as my mum was over

Am not miserable today, you will be glad to hear.

Sorry to hear of poorly dcs, dashed kitchen dreams and arsey receptionists

Dh is away tonight and tomorrow night . Ds2 in bed, ds1 going shortly.

CaptainCaveman · 05/10/2009 19:32

No1 I would ring OOH (out of hours) GP, especially if she doesn't settle with pain relief. Ear infections/aches are (as I'm sure you all know) INCREDIBLY painful. Poor you, and poor little dd. Can you take her somewhere when dh gets home?

oops thinking of you tomorrow, praying all goes well

steaky prayers for you too for tomorrow. Did you get your presentation finished?

OOOOOOOOOOOpsacoconut · 05/10/2009 19:38

No1 - sorry I missed your DD's earacheyness in my rather ranty rant. DD's ear infection last week was so painful, I would tey and get the duty GP to see her tonight if DH gets home soon or can your mum take you all over(she is close isn't she?)

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 05/10/2009 19:44

Thanks.
Got ds to sleep, dd had some warm milk and said she was tired. She has gone and got in my bed and is asleep.

Dh not home from work till 11.30pm
Mum on holiday. Besides doubt she would come anyway.
My lovely Dad would though

cc glad you are feeling better today.

TwilightSurfer · 05/10/2009 20:48

No1 that's good news. I wish you all a restful evening.

Brownies are a hit! YUM!

I'm watching myself for bad side-effects. I took two ibuprofen at 2:45pm. After I swallowed them it hit me...did I take 2 at noon?? or did I take the last dose at 8am?? What if I took the 8am dose then forgot and took a dose at noon?? that could mean I've taken 2400mg so far today. See why it's not a good idea for me to take drugs. My hopeful thought is that I took the first dose at 8am with my toast & oj then by chance took the second dose at 2:45pm, right on time (since I'd started to feel a little pain). GGRRRRR! I called DH and explained the whole confusing mess just in case I collapse without warning.

CaptainCaveman · 05/10/2009 20:51

Phew, think you'll be ok TS

Just put ds1 to bed and fell asleep with him zzzzzzzzzzzzz. 45 mins later here I am!!

oops rant away, you have every right to, plus you know how much we all like a good rant. And of course, we are always here to listen to you too

StrictlySazz · 05/10/2009 20:58

TS can you set yourself up on Skype so someone will see when you fall off your chair

Sorry couldn't resist

Hiya cece i have just had a lovely hot bath and long chat with friend back from her holidays. Lovely

OOOOOOOOOOOpsacoconut · 05/10/2009 21:05

TS - just remember to keep breathing until help comes

DD is grizzling already but that is because she only had 40mins nap today which always results in an unbroken night.

Thanks again everyone for being so kind, I am trying to stay positive and DH's most lovely comment today was as I got out the bath - you are still pregnant your baby overhang isn't overhanging anymore, it kinda pops out but I know he was trying in his own little way to make me feel better and it wasn't meant to be nasty. After tomorrow I will try and keep my paranoia in check and my rants to the man with the cooker to a minimum.

I am off to bed, sleep is calling.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 05/10/2009 21:06

I am eating toast and marmite.
not hitting the spot though.

lol at sazz wanting ts to fall off chair.

cc I do that very often, as I lay with dd every night till she falls asleep, or sometimes I lay there that long I come downstairs and think oh well up to bed too tired now.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 05/10/2009 21:08

I can hear dd whimpering,

Good night to all if I don't make it back.

StrictlySazz · 05/10/2009 21:17

Oh bless her no1 hope she is ok. DD1 woke up teary before my bath and i think she is still upset with the incident with DD2

I'm loving mroops and his attempts to be supportive . Sleep well

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 05/10/2009 21:21

I'm back.
She has nodded off again.
What happened with dd1 then, did she lash out at her for something she had?

Bless her, she does obviously feel bad about it then.

TwilightSurfer · 05/10/2009 21:23

har-de-har-har ya'll are a soooo funny

no1 does dd1 have a fever? if not, a warm blanket fresh from the dryer might make her ear feel a bit better. i remember my mother doing that for me after putting some sort of warm oil in my ear when i was very small. no clue as to what type of oil that would be. sorry ((((hugs))))

OP posts:
no1putsbabyinthecorner · 05/10/2009 21:29

Hi ts she was very hot last night but not so today. My battery died in the thermometer so not sure how high it was.
angry with myself as I said last week I should get it sorted.

Can hear her again so Im off.
Night all.
Going to put her lavendar Horse cuddly thingy in microwave for her.

StrictlySazz · 05/10/2009 21:32

No, she didn't finish her tea so when she wanted a banana at 6.15 i said no, she started shouting at me so i told her if she didn;t stop the tv would go off. She didn't stop, tv off, she flung herself on the sofa then sat up and just whacked dd2 round the head/face. I'm sure it wasn't her she was trying to hurt, more lashing out at me for being such a cruel mother . I took her off to her room, had words and then put her to bed. She knew i wasn;t impressed and she is actually quite sensitive about upsetting me . We did stories etc and kisses and hugs but i think the emotions were still running high. Sorry for the essay

ts i too had warm oil dripped in my ear - was sunflower IIRC. I think this is to soften any ear wax but didn;t actually help me though

TwilightSurfer · 05/10/2009 22:03

I think mine was mineral oil. Here's a link that describes ways to help earaches.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 05/10/2009 22:09

No1 here's Dr. Sears take on the ear ache. HERE

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 05/10/2009 22:10

From the read, it appears you are doing everything correctly but may have a rough night. I'll around if you need some comforting.

OP posts:
sequinedsteaknife · 05/10/2009 22:18

Well I am clean and fragrant and all ready for the morning.

More or less finished my presentation. Nothing fancy, four sides of A4 of ideas a la steaky.
Some of it actually sounds quite good!

I also need to read through the JD and make sure I have examples of the different areas of work the job covers - some will be more impressive than others. Had to resort to using planning my wedding as an example of event planning on the application. Seems to have worked though!

My main fear is bursting into tears or losing my place and waffling on about a load of old crap. And you all know how capable I am at the latter

If I do okay I rekon it will come down to who else interviews, their skills and if their skills are a better match than mine.
If I am the only applicant or the only decent one it may come down to their recruitment policy. If they will recruit even if I don't match all the "essential" criteria or no.

I'm feeling okay about it, after all I wasn't planning on going back to work so not the end of the world if it doesn't happen right now.

Phew that was some essay.

no contribution to make to the earache surgery but I like the healing properties of a cosy warm blanket.

Right, better do the final tweaks and head to bed.

Night all.

oh am nervous for DD as she will spend the morning with my friend, her DS and her mum. DD knows them but it isn't the same as her grandma. She will of course be fine once she has some exciting new toys to explore with.
