anyone else up?

NezLiquide · 05/10/2009 02:40

Steaky am here if you are still!

Oops hope the bleeding has stopped and thinking of you today. I had a scan at around 7 weeks and could see DS.

I thought I'd caught up last night but you seem to have filled 3 more pages after I went to bed! Albeit I did go to bed pretty early as DS has decided 5am is the new wake up time.

Seems like quite a few of us feeling a bit down at the mo - I would blame it on the onslaught of autumn/winter but don't really have that excuse

I have a bit of a dilemma - I'm fairly convinced that one of DS friends (who lives in the same condo so he sees all the time) has hand foot and mouth disease yet they took him swimming yesterday. Even if he doesn't have HFM he has quite a bad cold and a rash around his mouth. Now normally I would just ignore it but I really don't want DS to catch anything else plus there are loads of kids around so don't think it's very fair on them either as I know HFM spreads like wildfire - especially here (it's known as Singapore flu in Indonesia). But how do I mention this to the Mum without seeming really interfering?

NezLiquide · 05/10/2009 02:47

Have just visited the ladies and there is a sign on one of the cubicle doors saying 'toilet door is unhinged' - maybe I should offer it some AD's?

sequinedsteaknife · 05/10/2009 02:48

wotcha Nez

no advice from me I'm afraid. My brain is mush.
DD been awake for nearly 3 hours. though she is sat in my lap being a sweetie right now.

NezLiquide · 05/10/2009 02:48

Sorry at poor attempt at humour. Am thinking the 5am starts are getting to me and I could be in that stage where I get unexplained hysterical giggles for no reason.

NezLiquide · 05/10/2009 02:50

Hi there - brain mush here too and I'm at work - luckily big boss on leave so hopefully no-one will ask me anything too complicated today!

sequinedsteaknife · 05/10/2009 02:50

I know how the door feels

NezLiquide · 05/10/2009 03:00

How you feeling about tomorrow (Tuesday that is)?

Have you made a decision on what to wear yet?

NezLiquide · 05/10/2009 03:18

Hope that you are now both sleeping.

sequinedsteaknife · 05/10/2009 03:20

No sleep yet.

I had decided but have changed my mind again - but don't tell anyone else.

sequinedsteaknife · 05/10/2009 03:25

there should probably be a at the end of that last post.

NezLiquide · 05/10/2009 03:48

I won't

sequinedsteaknife · 05/10/2009 03:49

Right, I think that could be it - only 3 hours and 45 since she woke up.

At least I went to bed earlyish tonight so got a bit of sleep before.

Sazz what did you think of Emma on the beeb? I'm not sure - but it is my least favourite Austen.

sequinedsteaknife · 05/10/2009 08:30

Toasted english muffins with baked beans here with industrial strength vats of tea.

It was a long night of many tears - mostly mine not DDs.

Grotty weather isn't it?

OOOOOOOOOOOpsacoconut · 05/10/2009 08:51

Steaky {{{HUGS}}} you okay this morning? Any reason DD was awake or just because?

Cold grey and miserable here too.

Waiting for doc to ring us back as midwife rang this morning with an option of going to the Swindon EPU instead of Bath as the hours are more flexible so just waiting for GP to give me a refferal then will ring for an appointment. DH happier with that plan rather than the turn up at 7am and possibly not be seen due to too many people.

Builders are running late already and it's only the first day on the job, it does not bode well!

StrictlySazz · 05/10/2009 08:53

Well DD2 went into her cot whinged for about 5 mins and went to sleep. Should have put her back ages before i did i think . A nasty nappy this morning but she seems happier in herself

Luckily yesterday and this morning DD1 has been an absolute diamond. Just lovely little girl wanting kisses and cuddles and being very helpful./ Hopefully this signals the end of her run of illness

steaky hope DD is on better form today. Any reason for the upset last night?

nez i think i would say something along the lines of 'oh poor mite his mouth looks sore, have the docs managed to do anything/give him anything?'. That way you are not criticising them but putting the onus on the doc IYSWIM.

Off to playgroup shortly......

sequinedsteaknife · 05/10/2009 09:00

gah burnt the muffins because of mning using the grill but at least I have bread for, toast.

Though sorely tempted to put jeans and jumper of jammies and take DD to the caff round the corner.

Don't know why she was awake so long. Did all the usual things, bf, though shorter than usual - and then put her down and went in every 10 mins or so. In the end I got her up, let her play gave her a full bf again and then sat with her in her room. Left after a bit and ten mins later she konked out.
No idea why, when she slept through the night before.

not doing too well this morning, but we'll get through.

sequinedsteaknife · 05/10/2009 09:00

jeans and jumper over jammies obv

dizzydixies · 05/10/2009 10:02

morning all

sazz glad to hear DD1 a touch better and that Em slept

NEZ agree with Sazz completely - just act all innocent and ask what he's being treated with

oops poor form for the builders but glad you're still going for a scan - will keep everything crossed for you

VG you'd better not even be lurking till at least lunchtime!!

Steaky is your interview today - have you got your rescue remedy? Remember they'd be lucky to have you and we're all right behind you

pertelote thank you sorry you have a cling-on just now too!

buckets night sounds fab, very over the 25yrs comment!! My friend took DD1 to swimming again last week and re-enrolled both DD1 and DD2 for me I feel awful as thats 3 wks in a row she'd done it and I offered this week only to find out its on holiday for 2wks I really need to stop being such a mardy mare

lovely bright day here again although tends to mean bloody freezing up here when its winter sunshine

not a bad night sleep, after DD2 stopped shouting about her bike in her sleep, and Dylan managed until about 5am DH sleeping off a nightshift, DD1 at school, DD2 at playgroup and D napping SO time for me to be doing something productive [meep]

luckoftheirish · 05/10/2009 10:11

mornin...

had a night of it with dd1 beig sick all night and dd2 teething.. got a vat of strong coffee on for all takers xxxx

LoveBuckets · 05/10/2009 10:34

Wow, pissing it down here, annoying because walking the boys down to the butcher's would normally be less hassle than driving anywhere else. I need mince! Got everything else ready to make a kind of moussaka/pastitsio/lasagne thing (which DD will cry and hate me for.) I do have a tin of lentils though, maybe I could do a veggie version instead?

Time to wake up Kurt now and make him practise his walking and talking a bit more, not much happening on either front at the mo.

OOOOOOOOOOOpsacoconut · 05/10/2009 10:44

Well after having the most stressful conversation with the most ancient stroppy doc at the surgery, who basically asked what my urgency was and if I was miscarrying then there was nothing anyone could do so why bother wasting time . He phoned the EPU as requested and I am being seem tomorrow for a scan at 10.20 so plenty of happy positive thoughts for then would be great. DH is unfortunately in London and has no way of getting back tomorrow as his client is only in the country until tomorrow lunchtime and it is likely to lose him a huge contract if he doesn't go. He is in bits about not being here but the fact is we need this contract. FIL will have DD and MIL will come and sit in the waitingroom just incase I need some support. DH suggested she came in too but I said NO, somethings MILs don't need to witness!

LOTI - Sorry to hear of your rubbish night. Hope you all manage to get some rest today.

Dizzy - the most productive thing you can do is sit down and let yourself catch up with yourself, then you might find you are not so mardy with DH.

Builder just threatening to switch off leccy so back later.

StrictlySazz · 05/10/2009 12:03

oops i have no children tomorrow and Swindon only 30 mins so happy to come along if FIL would like MIL around for babysitting support? Text me if you would like me to . Sorry to hear of grumpy docs and late builders, not what you need

Must do linch, 2 VERY tired girls here........back later

OOOOOOOOOOOpsacoconut · 05/10/2009 12:19

Sazz - who you planning to linch?

I am going to lynch a customer service person called Jess unless she phones me back because 'shortly' is obviously more and 2.5 hour later!

TwilightSurfer · 05/10/2009 12:28

Oops, I'd call Sazzles for the moral support. A PREMO CHOICE!! Will be sending you .

Nez, on the sick child thing, I'd be like, "HOLY CRAP WHAT IS THAT ALL OVER HIS FACE? IT'S NOT CONTAGIOUS IS IT??" Sometimes subtlety is the bad route. You want answers! Make them happen!!

Cold, wet morning here. Thank GOODNESS I don't have carpool. I woke in the middle of the night crying I hurt so bad. The most of my pain was in my csec area but my back, legs and arms hurt too. Anxiety kicked in because of the location. Made me realize why we cohabitate....DH got up and got me water and Ibuprofen then listened to me whine. I might skip Tuesday night's pilates class so my body can rest a wee bit more.

Hot Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese Sarnies for Brekkers!!
