SpangleMaker · 13/09/2009 22:39

Momino glad your tummy is a bit better. Hope it's gone by tomorrow.

SpangleMaker · 13/09/2009 22:41

By 'it' I mean your tummy pain, not your entire tummy (though I am sure we would both wish away some excess belly baggage!)

Belgianchocolates · 13/09/2009 22:48

Momi Glad you're feeling a bit better tonight. Get some good rest in, so you can be back to your old self tomorrow

spangle Lol. That conversation could have been between DH and me. Men, hey?

Momino · 13/09/2009 22:59

thanks belgian and spangle. my tummy is strong enough to have eaten a Magnum .

am goiing to go to bed now. we're off to London tomorrow to register Harper at the US embassy and get her US passport. Inlaws coming to stay with dd1&2 so dh and I will have a couple of days with Harper. I'm looking forward to it but wish we were in london more than a few hours so we could do a bit of sightseeing.

can i tell you a secret

pulapula · 13/09/2009 23:08

Momi- i know how you are feeling (I think). I decided it was something i just had to do whilst we were on holiday as i had been putting things off for such a long time and really felt for DH - a couple of glasses of wine and an early night and the deed was done .

LoobyLou36 · 14/09/2009 08:07

momi know how you feel we've only managed 3 times since M (quite painful still) feel guilty tho, DH has been quite patient - apart from the sarky comments

M had me up every 2.5-3 hrs thro the night again to feed I am knackered today

could this be the lead up to weaning and I should just get used to it?

hopefully off to a childrens centre open day this morning

LoobyLou36 · 14/09/2009 09:03

M is watching baby tv - she seems to like it

wonder if it'll last long enough for me to get dressed?

Belgianchocolates · 14/09/2009 09:39

Morning everyone,

looby Maybe M is having another growth spurt? I remember how it was. Ds woke every 2h for months and months and months. Luckily this time I'm blessed with a good night time sleeper.

relations We've only done it about 3x since C was born. Not sure why. I think it's DH more than me. He doesn't seem to ask for it much. I wouldn't turn him away if he did, but on the other hand my own libido is not op to speed yet and so I'm not that bothered about doing it or not.

I'm attempting to put C to sleep in her cot at the moment. When she falls asleep at the breast during the day it's so hard to transfer her back to her cot. She cried at first, but the mobile (not phone ). Seems to have distracted her for now. I wonder how long it'll last.

C also had her 1st outing with a wintry hat on this morning when I took the elderst 2 to school. She looked incredibly cute with her white fleecy hat with teddy bear ears .

I've decided I have to get that Mini Boden snowsuit with big polkadots for see and these cute dungarees I've seen. I might scour eBay to see if I can find anything similar, but cheaper of course.

Today is supposed to become an eBay day. I've got loads of stuff to sell and now we're finally a bit more organised I'm going to make work of putting it on.

FiByTheSea · 14/09/2009 09:40

another dh that would appreciate some action here too.. last time was when we were trying home induction methods i have no desire at all.. dh is being very good about it and not pushing at all which makes me feel sorry for him not getting any iykwim? i know when we get started i'll get in the mood but i've just got no urge to start!

oh and i've lost nearly 2lbs! now have 8lbs to go to pre G weight.. and quite a bit more to get to pre ds weight.

right off to make a cuppa.. read what's been happening and 'i'll be back!'

Belgianchocolates · 14/09/2009 09:46

Yay. Sounds like C's fast asleep. Hopefully it'll last a while so I can get lots and lots of things listed on eBay.

essenceofSES · 14/09/2009 09:56

Morning!

relations - still no action here either. I really don't feel like it but I want to. I know that doesn't really make sense! With O's sleeping habits I don't know when we'd get chance tbh and DH isn't complaining yet...

Belgian - cute picture you conjured up of C in her hat

Not such a good night here. Fed O to sleep in bed and put him in his cot bur he immediately woke up and started crying in a v distraught way. After 5 mins I brought him into bed where he stayed all night. He still woke up crying 4 times. I'm guessing it was sore gums.
So far this morning, O is up, washed & dressed whilst I'm ... er... not. Feeding again now so hopefully I'll be up & breakfasted by lunchtime!

FiByTheSea · 14/09/2009 09:57

yay auntie pula fantastic news and 10lbs! let us know when you've sneaked your first cuddle

jael lol

lordladyh wow! how is he today? hopefully not too stiff.. even with 2 bras on i'd give myself 2 black eyes if i went running a short distance let alone a marathon!!

FiByTheSea · 14/09/2009 10:07

I've got to go out again in 10mins.. help mum transfer dad to the other nursing home. G asleep so will prob wake her when i pick her up to go oh well..

Belgianchocolates · 14/09/2009 10:40

C's awake. That was less than 1h.

fi All the best with moving your dad. I hope it'' be a better place

Momino · 14/09/2009 11:21

morning.
everyone ok today?
relations, i like pula's method: couple of glasses of wine and an early night... what bothers me most is that i actually dread doing it, thinking about it makes me feel disgusted. that's not right. dh is off work this week, i'll try to relax, keep an open mind, follow pula's method, and let you know how it goes (mind over matter - mantra of the week).

Fi hope all goes well with your dad and he's getting best of care. hope your mum is ok too (and you!).
belgian, good luck with ebaying. sounds fun and hope you find that snowsuit.

ses, sorry you had a bad night. hope tonight's better. also hoping we can meet up fri morning. will find out when we're planning to leave for manchester and see what you/C can do.

looby, hope you'e found some energy after last night and have fun at the children's centre.

well we're off to london to the us embassy to register Harper as an american. it feels like a big event! see you all tomorroe night or wed am.

have a good few days and restful nights.

pulapula · 14/09/2009 12:50

Momi- hope you enjoy London and it is exciting to register H as a US citizen too. It gives her so many opportunities in the future too.

It was funny today as I have been feeling really great and almost "normal" on my ADs but i forgot to take one yesterday. This morning I was kissing DS2 as he fell asleep in my arms and thinking about how much i love him (which is something i do every day) but this time i cried. The ADs really do suppress emotions. Although it was nice to have a little weep, it worried me that if i come off them i'll become a teary wreck.

FiByTheSea · 14/09/2009 14:20

momino exciting getting H registered tomorrow :-) will be lovely for you and your dh to get H to yourselves for some time too.. although only having just one dc around does feel quite odd

FiByTheSea · 14/09/2009 14:25

pula i'm sure you won't become a teary wreck.. well maybe sometimes.. but to be expected once a month i think!

FiByTheSea · 14/09/2009 14:46

it was a busy am. dad now settled into the retirement home.. residents are a bit more lively than the nursing home so will hopefully perk him up a bit.

FiByTheSea · 14/09/2009 15:07

G feeding a lot during the day atm.. evenings too & it's making me ravenous! so far she's still sleeping a 7hr stretch at night after her dream feed.. which i'm having to do after 11pm atm or she has me up really really early.

looby how was your group today?

pulapula · 14/09/2009 15:29

fi- could be another growth spurt?

I've been trying to get S into a routine which will fit with the school run which starts tomorrow, and so far (2 days in) its going well. I keep him up til after 9am as he won't be able to nap til we've dropped DD off, and then he has his second nap in the early afternoon. He's napping for 1 to 2 hours each time which is better than his usual 30-45 mins. So fingers crossed we will be OK although not sure i will cope with being up and organised in the morning I had a bad night last night as S woke at 12.30am for a feed, then i woke at 2.15 as he was trying to latch on again, then i fell asleep until 3.30 and then at 3.50 plucked up the courage to move him back to his cot without waking him. Then he woke at 5am for another feed, I fell asleep again and woke at 6.15 to find him under the duvet and very hot . He was then awake for the day despite me trying to feed him to sleep. So the longest stretch of sleep was probably 1.5 hours.

I am thinking of moving him to his own room so i sit in a chair, give him a proper feed and put him back down. Has anyone moved their LOs out even when they are still feeding a lot in the night?

SpangleMaker · 14/09/2009 15:45

Fi sounds like a growth spurt to me too. Hope your Dad settles in well.

Pula sounds like a rough night. Good news on getting S to nap for longer. I can't seem to do it with H - he had a couple of weeks of having a 2 hour lunchtime nap but has given it up. He's going up to 10 hours between feeds at night though so I guess Ican't have it all.

H is being a bit infuriating this afternoon, very grizzly, keeps crying and sucking his thumb but won't feed or go to sleep. He's just learnt how to roll onto his tummy (yay!) and keeps rolling over, getting stuck and crying, then crying even louder when I roll him back and going straight back on to his front again - aargh!

essenceofSES · 14/09/2009 17:25

Fi - O seems to be feeding a lot at the moment too, to teh extent that sometimes I think my boobs are struggling to keep up. I'm persisting though and trying to make sure I'm drinking a bit more water as I'm sure the more water I drink, the better my supply.
Hope the new retirement home suits your dad.

Momino - hope you manage to have a good time in London as well as sorting out things for H with the embassy. Definitely still up for Friday morning. I think C said she'd get in touch with you over the next few days.

Pula - I think that's one of the side effects of ADs that is quite good to begin with but after a while, you start to miss that strength of emotion IYKWIM. If I were you I'd stick with taking them for at least 3-6 months and then when you decide to come off them, do it gradually with a dose reduction and/or taking them alternate days for a while.
Good luck with the school run tomorrow!

O's gums are still giving him problems. I've bought him a couple of teething rings to put in the fridge today and I have him wearing long sleeved vests instead of t-shirts so he can't keep pulling them up and shoving them in his mouth.

pulapula · 14/09/2009 19:26

Ses from what i've read, you shouldn't drink too much water as it can have the opposite effect- only drink to thirst.

S has been feeding a lot too, but now i have milk overload. The other day whilst he fed off one boob, i saturated a tommee tippee breast pad AND had milk running down my top (luckily it was pale and so didn't show up too much as a wet patch as i was out and about ). I am using two lots of breast pads at night too so it's getting expensive.

Belgianchocolates · 14/09/2009 20:59

Hi everyone,

I've listed 15 eBay items today. Yay, let the money roll in

Momi I hope the registration at the US embassy goes easily and that there's not too much of a queue (or line ). That reminds me that I urgently need to register C at the Belgian Embassy. Luckily I can just do that by post. It must be a pain to have to go to London just for that.

pula I can imagine what you mean with missing the highs and lows when you're on AD's. I'm sure that you wont turn into a blubbering wreck when you come of them. If you do it's a sign that it's too early to stop them anyway

ses Sounds like another growth spurt to me.
I hope you get a better night tonight. Hopefully it shouldn't last too long once your milk supply has caught up.

C seems to be feeding quite a bit recently too. Luckily she's been doing it daytime only and she's a quick feeder, so it doesn't bother me that much. She'll go every 1.5h sometimes though.

I'm tired myself, but not thanks to C. For some reason I just wake at 6am for no good reason and then I can't go back to sleep properly. I tend to wake with a start too, not gently IYSWIM. Very annoying.
