Hi again ladies.

cyteen yes, Seb is very much of the same mind with the nappy changes, so the nail gun is in order here. I do and don't regret getting two parters. Yes, because AIO's are less faff to get on. No because pockets and AIO's leak within an hour on him no idea why, they just don't seem to suit his body shape, so they are more hassle from that point of view. However, I now have 10 Pop-Ins, which go on all in one piece, and seem to work on him (although have to make sure his willy is pointing downwards, otherwise he pees straight out the top of it ) So I love love love the pop-ins. I've also now got two weenotions All-In-2s which are a very similar concept to te pop-in. Gorgeous is not the word. I don't have a word good enough for the weenotions (apart from expensive )

SIL has phoned, as she wants to tell DP in person that she has broken off with the wanker. The only worry for me is that she is under some kind of delusion that they might have worked out somehow. I KNOW that they wouldn't have, but it makes me worry that she'll go back to him again. In some ways I think it might have been better to let her get on with it and learn the hard way. She said 'I'll never have the chance to prove that it could have worked' I think she just WANTS to believe that. What she's been telling me of his behaviour since they've been back together actually says loud and clear that he has not changed, that she would have been hurt again, and that he was still lying as much as ever. But the only reason she's broken off is because she realised DP would not talk to her as long as she was with him.

Sorry about the moan. God Little man is knackered but refusing to go to sleep. I think we have yet another tooth coming through though I could really do with a break between bouts of teething misery you know. Better go see to him, he's having a bellow upstairs.

AnnVan · 26/08/2009 20:29

bloody hell that was an essay I also seem to have cross posted, better go read back.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 26/08/2009 20:39

cyteen I am not stalking you but at you having been to see Kate Rusby. I am currently learnin afew of her songs, but I am struggling with my favourites as no guitar chords for them on net.
I love her voice.

steaknife · 26/08/2009 20:40

I just went in and treated it as a night waking - fed her and put her down awake. Tis quiet and I feel like a bad mummy for not having done that sooner.

cyteen · 26/08/2009 20:40

Aye, she's got a lovely pure tone.

RedLentil · 26/08/2009 20:59

Ah, loving Kate Rusby here too.
How are you feeling today after yesterday's counselling session Cyteen if you don't mind me asking?

hotterpotter · 26/08/2009 21:00

Feel a bit bad/sad with you guys still using the washable nappies. DS got a horrible rash so we switched to dispos until it cleared up. Within 6 hours of going back into cloth the rash was back so we have given up and moved to disposables full time. My goodness the bin has been smelling bad by the time they collect it (fortnightly)

steaknife · 26/08/2009 21:01

I think it is nearly bedtime for me, but before I go I must do the following;

Stack and then ignore the dirty dishes in the sink.
Ignore the clean dishes in the dishwasher;
Fold the washing out of the machine.
Have another chocolate ice-cream.
Not clean the kitchen floor.

hotterpotter · 26/08/2009 21:26

Steaky enjoy your ice cream

LoveBuckets · 26/08/2009 22:43

Yeah I don't know how I managed wriggly babies in 2part washable nappies. I always felt awful about the finger-shaped bruises on DS1's shins but he's been out of nappies for 4m and still gets the same bruise pattern somehow so rest assured ladies, we can grip as hard as we need to!

Good night's telly - prog about young autistic blokes had heartmelting hysterical first date between Asperger guy and autistic chick; Bizarre ER had old lady who's finger got chopped off from dog-lead-entanglement-scenario; and Shooting Stars had Vic's corncob-cucumber musical act. All of which had me in tears.

Night all.

TwilightSurfer · 26/08/2009 23:55

my apologies for waxing philosophical and leaving. it was after my post hung in cyberspace for ages that i realized i was late for school run. on the way to school i received a call that dd1's friend need to ride with us which meant a side trip by her house to pick up her booster seat and carpool badge. she also got to come home with us for a few hours which meant ordering pizza because i've no food (we were planning a family night out). the girls played nicely in the yard in the sprinkler. as she was leaving i realized reese was warm. she has a fever. i've dosed her with tylenol and fed her chicken soup. dh is bringing home orange juice. poor thing is suddenly all weepy. i'll return later to properly post to all i've missed.

Life is taking time away from MN!!!

HP regarding your question about the births, could it be a celestial influence? I've no time to properly research signs and moons but that's my guess.

Sazzles and Sarah HORMONES! I swear by HORMONES and GROWTH SPURTS for most of dd1's worst, totally irrational, behaviours. Otherwise known as Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde syndrome. And Sarah sounds like yours is plagued by a bit of good old fashion manipulation too since she does correctly for another person. JOY JOY JOY Parenting Girls is a JOY JOY JOY.

Reese's temp is down. I'll probably be up all night worrying over her. Poor thing. She had such a good time playing in the yard earlier, you'd never guessed she was sporting a fever.

I'll go for today and wish all happy sleeps. See you on the flip side.

OP posts:
NezLiquide · 27/08/2009 03:57

TS hope you are getting some sleep and that Reese's temp is down in the morning.

Ann we've had a really long break between teeth. I'm currently wondering whether he's ever going to get any more but I'm sure they'll all come in one go like Seb's have so not looking forward to that.

Sazzles hope DD1 and you got some sleep - how long do you think the 5.30am thing will keep going with dd2? DS is still at it like clockwork and I'm starting to get a little bored of it tbh! I don't know if it's now just a habit that I need to try and break. Usually he comes into bed with us till 6 when I bf him but this morning he'd managed to wet through his nappy, sleepsuit and grobag so had to change him which of course made him wide awake whereas usually he's happy to snuggle for a bit. Currently trying to cut down his morning nap to see if it has any effect but difficult because I'm at work in the mornings so can't really regulate this as much as I'd like to.

What injections are your LOs all having now - we were trying to follow UK schedule? Do they have MMR now or at 15ish months? What about chicken pox? Should probably look on the NHS or child health section of MN but feeling lazy.

Miamla · 27/08/2009 06:31

morning!
DS slept for eleven hours last night!!!!! previous record was 8 or 9! and wow is he happy today!

TwilightSurfer · 27/08/2009 07:58

Well we are up. Reese's fever is 101.7 rectally at the moment. Does is show how freaked out I am? The nurse said 24 hours with a temp that high with no other symptoms would require a docs once over. I doubt I can wait but then I don't want her exposed to anything else. I'm having a GOOD GRIEF CHARLIE BROWN moment.

Miamla that's great!

Expectant we had two shots last Friday. One was the first of a new HepA series and the other ???. I had them written down on her checkout form but I think I tossed it over the weekend for some crazy ass reason.

I do remember that she's 22lbs though.

She's doing so so so so very well for being all fevered. I want to cuddle but know that's not helping the heat issue. I sponged her off with damp towel a minute ago after giving her more tylenol. She squealed when I ran it over her back. 5 more minutes and I check her temp again. Please let the fever break soon. (side note: she has absolutely no other symptoms that would make you think she's sick and she's drinking water with fuss and she had an excellent "tea" then a chicken soup with oj snack before bed aka "tea2". all that's got to be a good sign, right.)

drinking WITHOUT fuss not with

100.4 THANK YOU
That means is coming down (for now) or I didn't do it right.

OP posts:
RedLentil · 27/08/2009 09:25

Poor Reese.

The reaction for the MMR is 5 to 10 days after and made my older two very unhappy.

Could that have been her other shot?

sarahnh · 27/08/2009 09:26

big hugs TS.. its always a worry when dcs have temps.. u are being a very good mamma..

well done on the sleep miamla.. u must feel like a new woman!!

morning everyone xxx

oopsacoconut · 27/08/2009 09:28

Morning everyone

TS - sorry to hear Reese is not well hope that fever comes down soon.

Miamla - 11 hours

Nez - they have a Hib and Men C one here at 12months and an mmr and Pneumococcal at 13 months(according to DD's book) then the next lot are at 3-5 years.

oopsacoconut · 27/08/2009 09:33

DD pressed post for me there

I did the lay down every time she stood up at bedtime last night eventually she got the hint and lay down, I exited the room shushing and that was it asleep in 15mins total. I fed her at 3 then at 4.45 tried the cuddle lie down but gave in after 10mins as she woke DH who had a big breakfast meeting at 8am. Now for the Record - I will only feed her once a night, once I have that sorted I will stop feeding her at night (I think [meep])

Am off to catch up now....

cyteen · 27/08/2009 10:05

Miamla same here, DS went down (with a fight ) at 7.30 and we didn't hear a peep out of him until half six this morning We had a proper pre-child type sleep, I feel so much better.

TS here's hoping Reese's temperature is down. They do like to scare us, these babies, don't they?

RedLentil I'm okay, thanks for asking, but very up and down...which is to be expected I suppose. It's good that I'm having bouts of intense sadness here and there, because not feeling them was not really that normal.

TwilightSurfer · 27/08/2009 11:42

Yay! Oops!!

Since temped here. Reese is now at 100.4. She's eating breakfast like normal but it obvious she's not feeling well.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 27/08/2009 11:49

WTF? It seems the temp is still here. Where did "Since" come from??

OP posts:
sarahnh · 27/08/2009 12:29

TS could be a big tooth coming through?? i'm sure u have probably thought of that already... will u take her to docs?
