Afternoon all.

TS Hope the temp continues to go down and Reese perks up.

Miamla giant woohoo for you and your sleeping boy and for Oops and her lying down girl.

Wotcha to Sarah, Red, Nez, Buckets and Cyteen.

shhh don't tell anyone, I got the shoes and to make up for that indulgence I got Izzy a new cardi and onesie and a onesie and longjohns for my friends premmie boy. Photos on profile.

sarahnh · 27/08/2009 13:18

loving them steaky

steaknife · 27/08/2009 13:21

Thanks sarah, in my world shopping for other people doesn't count and negates shopping for me. Could be why I have such a thunderous credit card balance.

cyteen · 27/08/2009 13:26

I love it all steak

steaknife · 27/08/2009 13:46

The boy's shirt does actually say "teeny" on it. It is from this shop and the pink top and cardi are from here.

Neither of these shops are too pink or blue for colour coding babies which is a nice change.

I particularly like this coat and these jammies for a wee handy-man.

steaknife · 27/08/2009 13:57

obv coat for a little girl not for a wee handy-man to wear over his jammies. Though he could if he wished.

So wotchoo lot all doin this afternoon?

I am not tidying the flat. Even though mansteak told me I should ensure the flat is clean as he is bringing some bods to look at it tomorrow and I should not embarrass him at work.

I told him if he was worried about it being dirty or untidy he could come and help me this evening.

I'm such a rebel! I did also ask him if he was deliberately trying to cause arguments to make these last ten days worse than they need be. He told me he was under stress.
That boy takes the biscuit sometimes.

steaknife · 27/08/2009 14:04

And I am not packing cos mansteak forgot to pick up the boxes for me.

la la la la

I will be making a cup of tea and dunking some biscuits in it in a minute though.

LoveBuckets · 27/08/2009 15:13

Oh helpful helpful chap.

Today I have: made pizza from scratch (well, using bread machine and tinned tomatoes), 24 mini cakes, had bath and hairwash (and nitcomb), held a mini meeting to plan an NCT event (8 under 7 kids all over the house!) and done a suicidally-slow Tesco shop online. Am shattered and Kurt has just woken from his nap so I can't fit one in for me. Will be time to start thinking about dinner soon...

dizzydixies · 27/08/2009 15:26

oh I do love some dodgy green liquer been all over the place today although spent more of the morning doing parent council stuff this morning and signing terrible scarey important company director forms [meep]

also purchased a new laptop as terrified of being cut off again

off to swimming with DD1 and her pal - although the pair of them are a bit annoying since they came home so we'll see how long I'll be tolerating that

LoveBuckets · 27/08/2009 15:54

Am going to have to face the horror of shoeshopping for DS1 next week. The bargain ones I ordered online (using Startite measuring gauge) arrived today, DS1 wore them for an hour with socks on and got a blister on his heel. Shame I will have to send them back as they will probably fit him by Xmas but I need non-injuring shoes within the week! DD's shoes arrive tomorrow so whoc knows I might have 2 parcels to return.

LoveBuckets · 27/08/2009 17:09

or... somebody with shoefitting wisdom help me... Does a blistered heel mean shoe is too big or that shoes are just wrong wrong wrong? He could get away with his current dark grey trainers until they do fit maybe.

TwilightSurfer · 27/08/2009 17:57

Buckets no shoe experience here. Sorry. Dizzy pass the green stuff along. I need a swig. Thanks Steaky.

What a day. What a day.

Reese's thing is "possibly" viral. Didn't see that coming.[sacrasm] Should run it's course in 48 more hours. Suspect temp to go up higher first. (it was 103.1 at the office.) Suspected runny poo has already become a reality. Joy! However, apart from her really not happy feverish self in the doctor's office (which honestly for once was right on cue), she's a happy camper. She's eating normally and playing normally and good as gold in every way. (see pic on FB)

Attempted not to contaminate too much at the grocery store (had to go...out of toilet paper). Purchased many good sick-feel-better eats. Currently we are both shoveling soft tacos down as fast as I can make them. (I'd share but wouldn't want to pass along germs.) (and if you believe that i have some ocean front property in the everglades for sale cheap.)

Off to clean my plate.

thanks for all the well wishes!!!!

ts sorry to here Reese is poorly. High temps always make me nervous.
Glad to here she seems happier though.

buckets not really sure about the shoes, I thought too tight would rub. Could be wrong.
Actualy probably any type of ill fit could cause blisters.

Hope evryone is ok.

sazzles hope dd1 is in a better mood and not too overtired today.

I have been riding again today.
Not planned though, which made it kinda nice.

My mum rang to see if I could go help her she had one of her youngsters tacked up and jhe just wouldnt stand still while she climbed on. Bless mum she only small and not very confident. So I helped and got a ride.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 27/08/2009 18:18

Oh and my sister had her middle ds final assesment yesterday and he does have Aspergers.

She is and sort of relieved.

I am moving into her house on saturday and having her 3 dcs and mine and her rabbits and puppy while she goes away to Cyprus for a week with her new partner.

May sound ing that she is leaving the dcs, but I say 14 years struggling to bring up the dcs with arsehole partners. If she doesn't need a break I don't know who does.
I love her so much.
she can also return the favour and have my dcs a night or 2

Am I mad Stupid or just Great

She is leaving me her 7 seater so I am not stranded.

steaknife · 27/08/2009 18:47

I think you deserve a medal and a large slice of something chocolatey No1
What a wonderful thing to do for your sister.

Ah just wrote a long moan about mansteak but it isn't that interesting. Now sausage and mash with onion gravy for dinner, that's interesting.

Or in fact three medals, sorry. I wasn't paying attention while searching pattern sites for a blazer pattern, a must have item for winter according to some glossy mags.

Awww vg what a lovely thing to say, now I am welling up.
It would be great to get another meetup sorted, I know it is so difficult though.

I did like the Reading festival you linked to a bit back, can't remember if I responded. I could be tempted, but not sure if dd too young.

steaky I am so sorry I forgot to say earlier check you out with the sexy shoes.
I love shopping for theapy.

I am now enjoying Horses for therapy.

I have had a lovely day so far today.
Dcs have been great, Marcus hasn't cried that much today and had two reasonably solid poos today.

I have cooked a lovely Roast beef dinner, while dh layed some new turf.
So maybe the Soya milk was the way to go. We will see.

Off to put dcs to bed before it turns sour.

happy happy happy.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 27/08/2009 20:03

oops a bit jumbled up.

RedLentil · 27/08/2009 20:16

Medals and praise for your goodness are quite right, No1. It's lovely to hear that you have had some time to ride too.

Your sister deserves a break too-how lovely of you to make that happen for her.

You should get best behaviour from the boys too. When I minded two of my nephews earlier on in the summer I ended up pointing out to DS how nicely Dnephew listened to my advice.

Not ideal I know, but my nephew, who is a very fair child, piped up to say, 'Ah, well we don't listen either when we're at home and we're only listening here because mom said she would kill us if we didn't.'

oopsacoconut · 27/08/2009 20:24

Just a quickie link before I get dinner this is how many were of you were feeling this time last year
