i'd better start organising some dates in my diary then! sounds like there's an opportunity for me to catch up

dizz we'll see! not counting any chickens or sleeping babies just yet!

dizzydixies · 06/09/2009 21:36

forgot the tell you about the girls earlier on. When we were driving to the show we were having the usual 'who do you find to speak to if you get lost' chat with them. Now, we try to do it without scaremongering but these things happen and we wanted to remind them of what to do if the unthinkable happened.

food and flower festival this was where we were - its a very large park (with brilliant play centre/wildlife park/golf course and huge open spaces) owned by Dundee City Council

Conversation went something like this

right, so, remember girls there are going to be a lot of people here today. you've not to worry because you'll be with mummy & daddy the whole time but who do you think you would ask for help just incase you get lost

DD1 - I'm going to find the owner of the park

DD2 - a dinosaur

dizzydixies · 06/09/2009 21:36

miamla what was I meant to send you re dates for coming up to Edinburgh sorry!!!

you can just see her saying it can't you Sazz? today was very good there was loads for the kids to do, a brilliant puppetshow/story telling, loads of craft stuff/ a science show/ face painting and, DD2's favourite - a gardening corner where they'd buried/planted potatoes & carrots for them all to dig up and replant - she came home head to toe in chocolate/soil/glitter/mud and paint!!!

Miamla · 06/09/2009 21:43

well i think DD2's idea was the best one...it'd be far easier to spot a dinosaur in a crowded park, than the owner!

dizz think we're looking at end of oct, poss early nov

dizzydixies · 06/09/2009 21:45

I also felt there was some merit to her answer Miamla as I believed it would be easier for US to them find a dinosaur in the crowd

am going to be one of those mothers constantly sitting in the headmaster's office justifying DD2's behaviour - I can just feel it

dizzydixies · 06/09/2009 21:46

Miamla - will facebook you

LoveBuckets · 06/09/2009 21:46

CD31 and still no sign of AF other than nearly crying at Circle of Life from the Lion King on the radio today. Had fantasy baby name convo with DH just now LOL and he promises to get his post-snip sperm test results tomorrow (only 9months post-snip!) as that's cheaper than a preg test.

Weird night last night but fun. Spent 40mins driving round trying to find camping barn party thing but laughing our heads off about it. Got there and decided it was too cold and too smelly to camp. DH was having one of his occasional hyper moments (antidepressant side effect) and til we realised that I was panicking he was a closet alcoholic or something! Anyway, we hardly knew anyone there and we danced together for the first time in years to this Zimbabwean band and just found ourselves generally hilarious. Home by 11pm and slept til 9 - woohoo! Then fry-ups at posh cafe before collecting 3 v good, v happy kids.

Off to weigh up pros and cons of driving to Bath in rush hour Friday night and staying in youth hostel. Have DH's extended family coming for tea party Sat but I'm just doing soup and crusty rolls so no biggy...

dizzydixies · 06/09/2009 21:51

buckets that all sounds fab however you KNOW I'm going to have to know what the baby names were

and the Circle of Life gets me everytime too

Miamla · 06/09/2009 22:18

oh and who let me near the tweezers???? the area where my eyebrows used to be looks like a plucked chicken and my face now has a rather startled look...bit like this

Miamla · 06/09/2009 22:20

buckets i love the way you've convinced DH to get his test results!

TwilightSurfer · 07/09/2009 00:07

I LOVE YOU LADIES!! I have laughed at just about every post since my last one. DH just to my right is trying NOT to pay me any attention.

I'd agree that a Dinosaur would be the best thing to find if lost. And Miamla I have brows to spare if you need to adjust what you've lost (which reminds me i should looking into brow waxing next week). Hotter I think of you as the Hotter-Waxed-Legs-Minus-Knees One. See you are known for more than wine. Sazzles I'm still grumbling about your amazing weekend (especially since DH and I are bickering). Buckets I look forward to your DH's results and can't wait to share your story with my DH since it's been the same time frame and still now recheck (which reminds me to double check my dates again).

Apart from laundry, the only other excitement this weekend has been the purchase of a soups recipe book. I have a dream to cook one soup a week. Hmmmm.....

Morning all

wasa bit at the number of posts last night - when I last popped on there were only 2 posts and I got distracted before I could post

I think I have caught up -
Poppy DH has new eyes and a bump on the head,
Sazzles has had childless day and too much wine,
HP has also been the worse for wear due to wine,
TS is the laundry queen,
Miamla is slightly startled looking, there was a dinosaur at the local Fife flower show and only Dizzy's DD2 could see him,
Buckets' Dh has been scared into his post snip results by a fantasy names conversation.

Now who did I forget....... oh yes, Cyteen, how did the cake turn out?

poo change needed back later.

luckoftheirish · 07/09/2009 07:45

Morning everyone...

gosh i have missed so much since i last posted.. hope everyone is well..

lwfh cannot believe that you are already 25 weeks..

nez.. is there something you are trying to tell us ..

so glad the wedding went well sazz

VG right there on the old child care issues.. i also cannot get anything done so something will have to change..

dizz loving your dd2 reply ..

waves to everyone else as i cannot remember any more!!

right just a little on me.. firstly thanks for all your concern/thoughts.. means so much... As the lovely TS informed you AF finally arrived last fri... did get a bfp on a hpt but the little bean didn't stick... so last week was full of tears and arguements with dh as u can imagine!.. End result tho is the best outcome for all of us and our little family... trying to convince dh that the snip is the way forward as being off the pill last month made me feel like a different person!!

Sorry for mamoth me post [gri]

luckoftheirish · 07/09/2009 07:47

lol oops... that little post made me chuckle.. couldn't put it better myself

oopsacoconut · 07/09/2009 07:52

LOTI - yay that AF arrived but sorry to hear that your little bean didn't stick [hugs] - I know it wasn't in your plans but is still for you. Hope you manage to persuade DH about the snip.

hotterpotter · 07/09/2009 08:13

Hey Loti glad you got the end result that's best for your family but for you and your tiny bean.

Oops excellent summary

LOL TS not sure that being thought of as a hairy-kneed patchy-waxer is better than being a drunkard

Miamla how are you looking this morning? Still ?

And come on Buckets, spill the fantasy names

Got a driving lesson at 11, first one in 3 weeks but don't think it's going to go well due to excessive sleepiness here. DD woke us all up before 7 this morning singing while she was doing a poo

cyteen · 07/09/2009 09:22

dizzy ROFL at your DD2. Do you ever watch Outnumbered?

Sazz and Nez I think are queens of the good times at the moment.

CC how jealous I am (and pleased for you, of course) that O has stopped bf of his own accord. I think I am ready to stop, but not quite ready to push it iyswim. Would love it if DS suddenly decided he didn't want it anymore, but am giving it a couple of months and will try and wean him off if nothing's happened probably.

Had great weekend but not exactly relaxing - cake baked on Friday night, drove down to ILs on Saturday morning, then trained into London for DP to go off on his do and me to meet friends at the South Bank - train full of rugby yahs so packed all the way to Twickenham, was no fun with a wriggly 1 year old who just wanted to get down on the filthy floor - had nice time with friends though, then train back to ILs, boy in bed, me drinking too much wine

Then on Sunday my family and DP's family met for the first time and it actually went v well [relief] The party was lovely, DS was thoroughly spoiled in the nicest possible way and got loads of cool stuff. Was mad busy though and by the time we got home last night everyone was knackered. So of course DS was up with the lark at 5.30am

Pics up on FB now

dizzydixies · 07/09/2009 09:54

oops you forgot to answer whether or not I was watching your DH last night

cyteen big fans in this house, have just bought reduced price box set off amazon for DH's birthday but forgot the confirmation email goes to his account so he knows I think I love the airport one best as it basically sums up all trips we've taken with the kids [meep]

eyes half shut here as Dylan been up sick all night, both DH and I VERY tired and extremelly grumpy - am off out to entertain DD2 whilst Dylan naps so he can fannyabout get on with his fecking essay, he'd better is all I can say

oh and its not raining
