HAPPY BIRTHDAY IZZY**

We are all set here for an invasion. DD sleeping but has been truely spoilt. Her best present was the ball pool and balls and 4 rubber ducks!

BAck later to catch up.

RedLentil · 30/08/2009 15:15

Happy birthday Izzy and Poppaea.

Another disastrous night's sleep here, but we cheered ourselves up by going swimming together this morning which was lovely.

I hope you are all doing nice Sunday things.

Good luck Loti.

steaknife · 30/08/2009 18:07

Evening all, wine o'clock here.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, we had a lovely day.

Izzy went to bed like a very tired little birthday girl. I was a bit worried i would have a sugar-rush baby bouncing off the walls but seems not.

Oops I hope you have survived similarly in-tact.

Iz had lots of great prezzies. I was a little that the farm I got from the wooden toy shop was infact made of board, it is still lovely though.
Mansteak got her a toy compendium complete with flat-pack toy box for me to swear at build.
And also a cosy things for the winter.

sambo I was wondering how you were getting on, glad your boys are on the mend.

Red hope you are recovered for your bad night and have a better one tonight.

Loti hope you pass your test as it were.

wotcha and to everyone else.

Sounds delightful steak I just remembered that today is the anniversary of my waters breaking This time last year we were probably just getting back from the birth centre where they confirmed that yes, my waters had gone (rather superfluous given the amount of fluid that was all over our swivel chair) and I was sitting about thinking 'any minute now contractions will start!' Ahaha.

Still, it justifies the beetroot chocolate brownie DS had for pud this eve We've had lovely meals today - he yummed up a big bowl of my courgette and pea risotto for lunch, and then we all sat down to veggie lasagna and brownies.

Well done you Sazzles that is tremendous, you did look fab the other week at the zoo, incase I forgot to say so at the time.

Bah packing has brought me right down this evening, but nice email from SIL to tell me she is sending gifts to the new address. So the thought of exciting parcels has cheered me up.

Cy can I come to yours for tea? sounds delish .

Evening all

Just a short message as DH and I are having a just the 2 of us no telly, no laptops evening to celebrate our amazing percious little DD. He has sneakily organised a local restaurant to make us dinner and deliver it to us.

DD has had an fantastic day. We went to the farmshop this morning for birthday babycinnos and a visit to the animals. Then we got home and DH had decortated the place and put out her duck balloons, she loved it. I put her to bed for a nap at 12.30 and she was still sleeping when everyone arrived at 2 I woke her at 2.30 and she joined the party, loving all the attention and wearing her pretty party dress. The cake was a great success but DH gave her a choc covered strawberry and the chocolate made her vomit spectacularly - so we might leave that for a while more. Cake she licked and then dropped it - obviously not my child! Once everyone left she had a quiet play with her new toys and has gome to bed a very tired but very happy girl. Thank you all for the support over the last year I am not sure I could have got through it sanely without you all.

Pleased Izzy had a fab day too Steaky

See you all tomorrow bright and early as normal!

Ah racing whippets.

Actually I could do with gaining a few lbs. my unfeasibly-tight-jeans are now just snug. Not a good sign.

steaknife · 30/08/2009 20:35

If it isn't too rude to ask how much more till you reach your goal?

Is it odd that MIL dressed DD up in the family christening gown and took photos?

I keep a flikr account with photos of DD so family can see her. When I am round FIL gives me the camera to load pics they have taken. Today I did a big batch and here she is.

Not sure if it is odd or sweet. MIL did bring the christening gown with her when DD was born and but they don't go to church and have never mentioned it.

It is a lovely gown though.

RedLentil · 30/08/2009 21:02

There are threads about this kind of thing periodically on mumsnet. Tends to be more common if the mil had no daughters apparently.

I'd say it's fairly harmless insofar as she is indulging a bit of family tradition and she is right to have thought Izzy would look gorgeous in it.

It must be very hard for them to have her move away after a year so close, so whatever memories they can make with her, I'd let them make I think.

Does that make sense?

steaknife · 30/08/2009 21:05

oops x post.

From observing friends trying to lose weight or turn into maniac-gym-freaks to try to maintain a weight that wasn't their natural form, I conclude the thing is to find the weight you are comfortable with and comfortable maintaining. though as a whippet I may well be missing the point there. Sorry if I am. I usually just try to say encouraging things as whippets aren't very useful in weight loss conversations.

oops more xposts.

Red that is pretty much what I thought. For a fraction of a second I was a bit but really they weren't being sneaky about it just not had the occasion to tell me before today and had probably forgotten too.

Sazzles - you have done brilliantly and you are sounding so positive too which must be connected ...

I'm doing work here so managed to miss that off my last post.

steaknife · 30/08/2009 21:29

see sazz that's why I generally stick to saying "sell done" cos I don't know either. So I'm going to go back to my previous comment of you've done brilliantly and look brilliant too.

oh my giddy aunt can't blummin type. I blame the french and their keyboards with the keys in the wrong place and their bottles of wine that pour out into glasses that you then drink.....

NezLiquide · 31/08/2009 04:26

Hi all hope you all had lovely weekends and Happy Birthday to all those I missed.

Sazz that's great news on the weight loss. Wishing I could say the same but have been rubbish with MIL visiting and friends visiting from the UK not been to gym very much and eaten and drunk way way too much.

Went to comedy club on Saturday night with some friends needless to say that after no food and rather too much wine yesterday was a bit of a write off. I was non too productive. Luckily DH got up with DS and took him out for a bit in the afternoon so I could recover lie on the sofa and watch rubbish.

DS up at 4.46 this morning...taking him for his injections (whatever they may be) tomorrow afternoon.
