HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOBY!

Happy Birthday Toby

Lovely sunny and hot day here after all the rain of the last few days.

Urrgh Ann that sounds like my worst nightmare. I can cope with spiders but maggots and worms I can't stand (a horrible boy in my class at middle school threw worms in my friends very long hair and I haven't been able to get rid of the vision since). I still remember his name.

DH likes Kate Moss so I don't stand a chance either!

hotterpotter · 29/08/2009 13:39

Got my rubbish green driving licence today, with a big L for loser on it But on the plus side I have managed to book my theory test for 16 September, so that's 2 weeks on Thursday...eek. Better get revising

Hope you are all having lovely Saturdays

sarahnh · 29/08/2009 14:15

happy birthday toby!!!

hope everyone is having a good saturday..

dh is gone to footie.. dd2 asleep and dd1 having some quiet time watching spongebob.. so i should be preparing the dinner, tiding the house but am on mn instead!!!

Miamla · 29/08/2009 14:48

DP and I are in the midst of a v long row. He changed my password on his laptop but as you can see, my IT skills came in handy and i've changed it back. Its such a ridiculous argument, I can't be bothered to bore you with details.
hopefully see you on the other side but just thought i'd better warn you that i'll be awol for a few days

RedLentil · 29/08/2009 15:01

Miamla-sounds awful. Changing your password too?

Do you want to talk about it?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 29/08/2009 15:02

miamla
We are here if you need us.

pertelote · 29/08/2009 15:02

Oh dear Miamla, hope he soon comes round to your point of view... see you on the other side.

Happy Birthday Toby! Anne I had never heard of that actress but there is indeed quite a resemblance! Do you have an outfit like hers too?

TS hope Reese is getting better...

DD has just worked out how to climb the stairs so stairgate no.2 is being deployed as I speak!

Nice day here, hope for you all too.

What you said earlier about troubles/tears falling away when walking confidently.
Ds is walking very well now, so hoping this will be the case with him.

Dd has been talking to ds past two days very nicely.
She was most concerned that he was in his cot crying yesterday and came to me and said
dd:Mummy, Marcus crying.
Me: Yes he is, he is very tired.
dd: Mummy I get him.
me:No he needs to sleep sweetheart.
dd:Mummy fetch him he crying.
repeat several times.

I fetch him, she gently grapbs his arm and says something that I did not understand followed by 'don't cry Marcus.
Bless her.
She has also been sweet with him today.

She has scratched his neck quite badly earlier though, not sure it was intentional

Also scratched all his arm the other day when I pulled up in the car.

I think maybe she now sees him as a play mate now he is walking.

RedLentil · 29/08/2009 15:12

Oh that is good to hear No1.

Marcus is like lightening up the stairs.

I asked dh if he would watch him while I went for a shower.

I heard ds on the stairs so ran went to look.
He was on the 7th step with no dh in sight.

Which is why I ASKED dh to WATCH him.

We have just put a gate on dds door.
Not to keep her in,but to keep ds out.

I have found it very stressful getting us all ready in a morning due to ds wanting to play. DD screamin because he is in her space or touching her things.
So now dd can play in her room and ds can potter around near me while I get ready.
So much better.

Little things are starting to improve some days, but I do know that with age they will still squabble over something.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 29/08/2009 15:16

I am just waiting for ds to wake then we are off to my sisters fo the week.

She lives less than 5 min drive away, so not going far.

Will try to get on at hers if when I get chance.

love to you all.

steaknife · 29/08/2009 16:20

Just got back from the supermarket for the second time today cos I forgot to get a card for Izzy. they don't sell cards so I had to buy the bits to make one.

I got a bit overexcited and thought I should make a trifle but then realised I should just get some Bonne Mamman muffins and ice them instead. [lazy emoticon]

Felt I had to do something as MIL will probably wheel out and all singing, all can-can-ing, three tier cake tomorrow.

Not that I'm competitive or anything.

Sazzles: 'They didn;t want their DC's to go blackberry picking as they would get stung/prickled/dirty/might eat blackberries without washing them or their hands first etc, etc.'

Ah, well that's my afternoon written off as bad parenting then DD1 had 2 blackberries in her tub at the end of 40 minutes despite non-stop picking. You do the math.

still have loads of cramps and a bit of backache so hoping that af is on her merry way

steaknife · 29/08/2009 18:35

sorry was in a bit of a rush before and didn't say...

Happy Birthday Toby, hope all is good in the PF household.

Miamla I hope things get resolved quickly and smoothly for you.

Ann euw at the maggots and hope you have a nicer evening tonight.

No1 glad himself came to his senses regarding all things pony.

Sazzles wine o'clock here I've kept a glass chilled for you. Very subversive you are with the hedgerow foraging. Mum said I shouldn't feed Izzy blackberries off the bush because then she will think that all berries can be eaten from the bush. I can see she has a point but where's the fun in that?

And a wotcha all round to everyone else.

Of course not! I've been busy preparing a healthy, low fat courgette and pea risotto in between watching Xfactor.

hotterpotter · 29/08/2009 20:49

What is is about X Factor? Or any of those pleb/celeb talent shows? I don't get it. Maybe if DH actually let me watch I would get hooked!

Can't remember anything that's been chatted about today apart from the berry-scoffing. Glad I'm not changing any of those nappies tomorrow

Poor DS in the wars today He's got a weird rash all over his arms and legs, doesn't seem to be upsetting him but it doesn't look very nice and now spreading on his back and his little face And he fell down the stairs this evening , not all the way down I don't think but he was distraught for a minute afterwards. Sleeping now, let's hope all the drama has exhausted him...

oopsacoconut · 29/08/2009 20:54

my folks are here so just poking my head in to say I have put a prelim piccie of DD's cake on FB See you all tomorrow.

hotterpotter · 29/08/2009 21:01

Oops it is absolutely brilliant! Well done

It's DH's turn to hog the computer tonight so signing off already.

Hope you all have a lovely evening and see you tomorrow
