Pigley, hope you and your dh had fun.

Rumpel, your poor dd, hope she's over the worst now.

Jodie, I'm very impressed you can get your dcs to wear dressing gowns and slippers, mine refuse to be wrapped up warm indoors, they would rather sit and shiver.

Bryony had her last set of jabs this week - I missed her 12 month and 13 month appointments while we were away over the summer so she had them all together - 3 needles! It's quite different holding down a screaming toddler to when she was a tiny newborn, but at least you can give a toddler a Smartie afterwards (she had quite a few beforehand too as we were kept waiting for ages and all the toys had been removed from the usually well-stocked waiting room because of the risk of contamination with swine flu).

I am trying to get into a better routine now dd2 is at nursery in the afternoon - I didn't let Bryony have her nap this morning and she fell asleep in the car on the way to nursery, stayed asleep when I put her into the pushchair and back into the car, then went down into the cot when we got home and is still there 2 hours later! This could mean I have 2 hours to myself on the days I'm not working. She was incredibly grumpy this morning though, I hope she gets used to it quickly. Right, better go and wake her for nursery pick-up now.

DS1 is away to UK school games this weekend. Swimming for Scotland and hoping to make at least one more of his British times...still aiming for 2012. It is in Wales and he is staying at Cardiff University...he is very impressed with it and he said that the opening ceremony for the games was amazing last night. Keep your fingers crossed for him ladies

Away to have hair cut now...just a trim I think

bebejones · 04/09/2009 20:29

Pigley - Hope you and DH enjoyed your day! We have been looking for furniture/big bed for P as well, although I really want to keep her in a cot til she is 2. Trouble is she keeps trying to make a bid for freedom & falling over & banging her head!!

Disney - Well done Sammy!!! He is such an amazing little guy bless him!

SK - I get 'flappy' bits of gum when my wisdom teeth do their up & down routine. (My bottom ones aren't out yet) Didn't think LO's would get that as teeth are full on emerging. Poor little B, hope it heals up quickly for her.

Well had a very odd sort of day here today! Had a neurologist appt at hospital this morning. After the appt DH and I were in the hospital shop getting a drink when lo & behold who's little face is staring back at us from the front page of the local paper? Phoebe!!!! And pics inside too from the Baby of the Year comp we went to yesterday!! Was very [shock} and excited!!!! Although I hope they have some of her smiling as she looks very solemn in the ones they printed today!! Been on a complete high from that all day, then at 6pm my GP rings to tell me that my blood tests from this morning show I am Vit B12 deficient & Folic Acid deficient! Folic acid not too bad treatment wise, just a mega dose tablet once a day for the next 3 months & I am fairly sure that is because we discussed with consultant TTC! (Was planning on starting tablets next month anyway) But the Vit B12 treatment is an injection every other day for 2 weeks!!! Just hoping I won't have to do it myself! Feel a bit bummed & quite anxious about that! But at least it explains why I have been poorly & why I am feeling so tired!

P has been very funny this evening pointing at the TV and shouting ball as Upsy Daisy was playing with a big ball! She was getting so excited. When we asked her where the ball was she pointed at it on the telly, then went and got hers out of her toy box!! Almost like she knew I needed cheering up!

Looking forward to having a relaxing weekend, but looking like it might be a busy one!!

TheRedSalamander · 04/09/2009 20:37

Hello everyone

Been incommunicado for a while because works been a bit hectic. DH and I been co-existing too rather than having a proper relationship and I've been having a bit of a rubbish time if I'm honest. Tend to hide myself away when things are rough (or so my friends tell me!) so sorry not been around. Not even been lurking so must have missed loads of news.

Minipink and Ponto L and I are still going with BF too. He's still not got any teeth though! Started walking last weekend, heaven help us ;)

Off to drink some wine and hope we don't have another end-of-the-week-we're-both-tired row

pigleychez · 04/09/2009 21:12

Ponto- on 3 jabs. Abigail has her MMR next week.

Mini- Good luck to your DS1 Let us know how he gets on.

Bebe- Woohoo on P's appearance in the paper!
Hope the Jabs are ok

Red- Good to hear from you! Hope things settle down abit for you soon.

Had a fab day watching DH whizzing round the track in different fast cars. It was great fun. Abigail loved the fast cars and the noises they made. Teddy even made his way (ie was thrown) out onto the track! FIL had to make a mad dash for it dashing ferarri's, Lamboghinis and formula cars!
Felt abit jealous as I quite fancied a spin too.

Just logging on for the last time before I go off to Bali for the week . I need to get up at 4.30 so should go to bed but am too excited to sleep! Feeling a bit too though as I will miss the dds (and dh of course!) Gave Bryony what may well be her last breastfeed tonight, I'll try again when I get home but am not very hopeful of success.

Poor B has got a big red mark on one thigh where she had one of her jabs, not sure which one was the culprit though.

Red, nice to hear from you, hope you managed to avoid a row with dh. Well done L on the walking!

Bebe, lovely photos of Phoebe in the paper, good luck with the competition!

pigleychez · 06/09/2009 13:24

Hellooooooo (hears an echo!)

Where is everyone..its quiet this weekend!

Bought Abigail a peppa pig felt set with a board which she absouletly loves and hasnt stopped playing with it all weekend! Was meant to be for holiday to occupy her but she spotted it!
We did get some new buggy books to attatch to her car seat for the journey which ive hidden for maximum "newness" effect. Looking forward to our holiday now

Abigail has her first underwater swimming lesson tomorrow. Really looking forward to it Will have to treat myself to a new swimming costume.. anyone recommend anywhere to but a nice maternity costume?

OP posts:
bebejones · 06/09/2009 13:59

Pigley - Maternity costume....is there something you aren't telling us?!?!?!?!

pigleychez · 06/09/2009 15:24

Bebe- you got me! Got my BFP this morning! EDD 19th May.
Dont think its properly sunk in yet!

OP posts:
Rumpel · 06/09/2009 17:44

Another one!!! Congrats PIGLEY.

PONTO - hop eyou have afabby time away. - Enjoy.xx

I joined FB to check out all your photos and it is quite annoying as my DH has been sent loads of friends requests from people we barely knew years ago - said hi to in the pub etc. Anyway he (being a tube) has confirmed most of them and now it means that all these people I thought I had left behind me are contacting me and viewing our stuff.

I sound like a brat but you know how it is - life moves on and sometimes you just wanna forget things/people in the past. ( Or am I a right cow?) It's just I've moved around so much in my life to me it's no big deal but these people seem never to have moved on IYKWIM (SK you know exactly what I am talking about)?

Anway been having a mahousive cleaning session this am - carpets and all and about to go do a giant pile of ironing before a bath.

Bizarrely I did the inkblot test on FB and it turns out I am 60 per cent insane? I knew I was a bit neurotic but I am .

Take care allxxxxxxxxxxxxx Squishy hugs all round. ( )

bebejones · 06/09/2009 17:55

YAY PIGLEY!!! HUGE Congrats!!

sweetkitty · 06/09/2009 18:34

Pigley - congrats and your on the Due in May thread with me, now does anyone else what to join us there is still time you know

Rumpel - yes know what you mean about FB but in most ways it is nice hearing from people you haven't see since school but you are right some of them think they still are at school. Join the neurotic club, I very stupidly stopped taking my citalopram a few weeks ago and don't want to start again due to the new wee one, anxiety through the roof though, think it's the worry about the wee one too not helping. When I go to the docs for my hello I'm pregnant talk I will ask about ADs in pregnancy as when I get SPD again I am going to need them. Other coping strategies are that DP does compressed hours so he has a Weds off so I only have 2 days a break then 2 days, cleaning and or ironing lady and seeing a private physio this time.

ponto - very exciting about Bali enjoy yourself, know what you mean about that last BF, so emotional but you get used to not BFing quick.

Right DP has hte other 2 out the bath better go

bebejones · 06/09/2009 20:40

SK - would love to join, but not gonna happen yet!!

Pigley - so exciting for you, had a funny feeling it may happen for you after you saying you were...ahem....'knackered'!

Pretty good job we aren't TTC yet given that my folic acid levels are so low! Hopefully tablets will make things right again just in time for New Year! Really really nervous about the injections, and I don't have a needle problem at all, just the thought of one every other day is not good! Don't know how people do it daily...or more!!

Does anyone elses LO bang their head ALL the time. Phoebe is so bumpy!! She is covered in bruises, got loads on her legs and one on her head, she is literally trying to run before she can walk!!! Just before bad she got so excited when I got up that she fell to her bottom & smacked the back of her head on the coffee table! Subsequent screaming & tears (from me too, was a bit shocked), but she doesn't always cry, even when she really wallops herself on the floor/cot/sofa/walker/table/toys!! Oh dear this is making me sound like a bad mummy!! Just don't want to over protect her, trying to let her work things out for herself IYSWIM?! But is this 'normal'? She does now say 'Ow' and 'bump' when she falls over though!! Going to attempt to get rid of breakfast bottle and just have a beaker and breakfast this week she is a bit attached to the night one so that may have to wait a while!! Tried her again with some cheese (dairy intolerence?!) and produced a hideous nappy again so am holding off on that a bit longer I think! It's all such a minefield isn't it?! She is still not good with lumpy foods, although has 8 front teeth and can bite things and cope with finger foods well. And feeding herself with a spoon just doesn't happen, spoon ends up on floor & poked in her eye or nose & food ends up on the floor or in her hair or even on the cat!! When should I be aiming for her to get the hang of self feeding, is it too early yet? She is SO fussy, most days it's a battle of wills and I quite often cave & give her something I know she will eat or get DH to feed her!!

Oh dear, massive post...again! Hope everyone is ok? Been v quiet here this weekend!

pigleychez · 06/09/2009 21:32

Thanks ladies- still abit ed as it was only our first month of ttc. Seems really odd second time around.
Like the others, Nothing on FB yet please

Rumpel- My house could do with a huge clearout if your offering Have a fb clearout too!

SK- hope the anxiety calms down for you.

Bebe- Abigail has taken to banging her head on the floor in temper/frustration.
You can see her getting annoyed and then thud on the floor then even more crying cause it hurts! Go figure!

Def turned into a mummys girls in the past few weeks which is strange as its always been Daddy. I wonder if she knows!

Re self feeding- Dont think there is a set time as all babys are so different and do things in there own time. Abigail has been feeding herself with a loaded spoon since 9mths. Shes lately started stabbing food with a fork too. Tonight she did actually stab some food and eat it as opposed to stab then pick it off and stab it again and again!

NotanOtter · 06/09/2009 21:37

wow pigley and sk you lucky ladies may is a lovely month all spring like and fresh!

congratulations!

Is N the only one not walking?

MinnieMummy · 06/09/2009 21:53

NotanOtter Poppy isn't walking yet either, she likes to have a patrol of the house at least once a day holding hands and makes that annoying 'nnnn' sound if you stop too early, and she has let go a few times once she's got herself to standing but sits straight down. Hopefully within a month she'll be there!

Pigley congratulations (again!) and yes I definitely think they can pick up on it, I remember DS getting very clingy and difficult at the childminder's when I was pg with P.

Rumpel I regularly have a FB clear-out... either people I've accepted out of politeness and now want to get rid of, or where I realise that if I haven't spoken to them in the last 6mths I might as well delete them! Exceptions being the people I want to have a nose at

SK hope it goes well at the doc, I'm sure there was someone on here last time taking ADs during pregnancy so I'm sure there will be something they can do. I saw an chiro-type person last time who specialises in antenatal, post-pregnancy and children, I think it really helped.

So.... ummmm.... I'm pregnant too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yikes!!!!!! Just found out this morning, still in shock, will be with SK and Pigley for May babies, am wondering what the hell I've let myself in for and am trying not to remember how much I hate being pg. This is definitely the last one!! Not telling friends yet so shhh on FB as well please.
oh boy oh boy oh boy! Not sure if it's a good thing with the work situation at the moment or not, still there's a long way to go before all of that...

JODIEwantsanewname · 06/09/2009 21:57

wooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooo

Great news Pigley [grin}

I'm so excited for you all pregnant ladies, and abit too, but please keep posting here and don't forget us from the new threads!! I think we need to see growing bumps and scan updates!!!!

JODIEwantsanewname · 06/09/2009 21:59

Crossed posts [minniemummy] YEAH YEAH YEAH!!!!!!!

(BTW, am I your friend on FB? I don't think I am, but can't be sure..... if you want to add me I am friends with everyone else (I think) and my intials are JW)

sweetkitty · 06/09/2009 22:11

whooooohooooo another one congrats minniemummy, I got friends on the new antenatal thread

I am showing already, am trying to convince myself that it is chocolate and severe lack of stomach muscles and not the twins theory, no it cannot be twins will leave that to pigley

Poor wee Bethany hasn't been well today, we went to see DP run the Glasgow half marathon she was fine usual moaning if the pram stopped although she is fine if eating she had a sleep in her pram and the minute I took the raincover off I was like oh dear nappy change in boot in car park, horrendous smelly nappy. Anyway on the way home her lips are blue, her skin was a funny colour and all mottled and she was making funny breathing sounds, we were on the M8 so stopped when we could, she was shivering and looked just unwell, we rushed home and I got some Calpol into her and she fell asleep on me but I could see the colour coming backl to her face, she was still burning up though, 4 stinky nappies later she was back to herself, she even fell asleep on DP twice, unheard of. Think is was some weird stomach virus as I wasn't well on Friday.

She can walk but choses not to the minx, she can stand from sitting and dance but if she wants to go somewhere crawling is still faster.

Jodie - course we will still stay here

sweetkitty · 06/09/2009 22:13

Who was it that had the 3 DDs very close in age? DD3 was called Leah, I thought it was Red but she name changed and has a boy?? Am all confused

Poledra · 06/09/2009 22:19

Just a quicky, got loads to do, DH away till Weds, so all on my own till then.

CONGRATS pigley - am definitely of the pg and new baby, but still convinced that 3 is our limit.

bebe, O is always tumbling at the moment - she's not too bruised as she manages to land on her nappy most of the time though it's not so nice when it's a pooey one. DD2, who's 3.5, on the other hand, had legs that look like a map with all the bruises round her shins! She is always running, and hasn't really mastered looking-where-she's-going-at-the-same-time yet.

One thing to tell you, Saturday morning, Dh and I were dozing in bed, 2 older DDs watching some telly in our room, O wanders off and starts crying. DH drags himself out of bed and goes to find her. She was in the bathroom, waiting for someone to change the stinky nappy she had just produced! So glad DH went to find her.......

NotanOtter · 06/09/2009 22:20

sk not lockets? ( hatrick)

Minnie wooooohoooooo

SK what i love about you is that you are a real fab coper the minute that baby is out!

Poledra · 06/09/2009 22:23

And then there were 3! Congrats Minniemummy!!!

(Got interrupted when posting by a phone call from my friend who's expecting her first baby in 5 weeks - so many babies! )

sweetkitty · 06/09/2009 22:25

NAO - no not lockets I know lockets, it's bugging me I'm away to find out now. Thanks for your kind words, I know exactly how hard it is going to be but they are kind of cute and so worth it and this is MY LAST TIME EVER! I'm getting my tubes tied I mean it.

Poledra - come on you know you want 4 is neater than 3

Poledra · 06/09/2009 22:26

Got that implant now, SK - risk-free shagging
