Sambo I must have missed the page about your friend's mc. I hope she's able to find peace with the loss quickly and move on because her fertility is at it's peak immediately following. That's how I scored Reese, after all.

Oops the beaches of Florida are comfortable during the winter months. Might I recommend Miami, Captiva, Key West, or St. Petersburg. As for the Carribean, Jamacia was great and Cozumel was fun. Many of my friends have found Peter Island in BVI to be the cat's meow. PETER ISLAND. I'm happy to share all my travel knowledge with you. Feel free to shout at me on FB. I'd even be happy to look into a meet up.

Longway your beach tales are so wonderful. Very loving family-ish. We never traveled to the beach as a child so quite . However I don't envy the cold. Not really beachy is it.

Sazzles one of the "hotels" I'm looking into is The Hilton Sandestin so not really hotel hotel. They have a Junior suite with bunk beds for the girls that sounds perfect for us (plus daily maid service). But then I really like this beach house. However it doesn't have a pool and we both know how much dd1 likes the pool. October might be our next vacation time OR next April or May. Depends on a number of factors really. I'm thinking May is the better choice but DH is thinking a little sooner.

LOL! Buckets it is nice isn't it. DD1 asked me if that's where we are moving.

Sazzles (((hugs))) you just need to rest. A good time will be had by all afterwards, even if afterwards is this weekend. Emma will not know the difference and we will never tell her.

Ladies I consulted with my hairdresser this morning about a new TS look. I think I'm going to go short. I'm tired of the mommy pony tail. I need something young and hip and easier.

Good Idea?

Bad Idea?

all comments welcome

Haircut is always a good idea, even if you hate it to start it will grow into something you like soon enough. The short cut I always go back to is Reece Witherspoon in Sweet Home Alabama - just long enough to tuck behind my ears but nice and cool on the neck. Plus you can clip up the sides with little butterfly clips or use an Alice band if you need to keep it off your face.

TwilightSurfer · 12/08/2009 18:18

Buckets that funny because we chatted about the Reese cut this morning. The cut I want is similar but the bangs are longer. I've got pics in a mag but can't find online photos. My thought is when short it's the "color" that important. I've finally found "my color" so I think I can safely go short and be happy.

hiya,

thank you for all Tess's birthday wishes!! Cannot believe my baby is 1!!! Happy Birthday to Emma too!!!

We are just back from Spain where DD1 had a ball and Tess didn't sleep so completely shattered!!!

I stupidly forgot to bring my pill.. didn't realise til today so i'm hoping and praying that i haven't brought home anything extra from my holidays!!!!

Haven't caught up yet, but happy birthday to all little ones i missed!!xxx

Miamla · 12/08/2009 18:46

gah! i'll just be wearing shoes on saturday at this rate. only 30mins sewing so far today....

oopsacoconut · 12/08/2009 18:57

Miamla - that would be an eyecatching look

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TESS.

TS what a great picture how did you not jump up and haul her down? I wouldn't have lasted long enough to take a photo.

DD s now walking quite a bit, she is no good at changing direction and falls over at the smallest distraction. She just made DH's day by walking across the room to him.

back later when smallest snotgoblin is in bed.

Miamla · 12/08/2009 19:26

oops do you think i might steal attention from bride?

DS is in cot. he had been screaming for about an hour (despite many attempts from me to calm him down), DP got home, said night night to him and DS is now lying down with closed eyes!!!
arrrrrggggh! i give up!

alittlebitshy · 12/08/2009 20:03

how come so little sewing time today miamla? Is he unsettled after your 2 days off at work ?

oopsacoconut · 12/08/2009 20:47

Miamla - we have a similar Papa problem at the moment - she screams blue murder even if he leaves the room. today when he came home she cried at him pulling him to the back doors. the minute he opened the doors and took her out she stopped crying. When I went to takeover she cried like I was a child murderer until he came back

dizzydixies · 12/08/2009 21:33

ladies am utterly distraught, our dog has gone missing. its now dark. going to rain tonight and she'll be hungry

I don't know what else to do or who else to speak to - am only hoping someone has her and will phone the dog warden tomorrow

oopsacoconut · 12/08/2009 21:37

{{{HUGS}}}} DIzzy and the Dizzyettes. Hopefully she will be found and brought back. Is she wearing a collar with a number on it?

Am busy baking for the Children's Centre cafe tomorrow as the normal woman has had D&V and is not allowed to cook for them for 48 hours.

dizzydixies · 12/08/2009 21:38

no collar because she was left in the garden by DH

RedLentil · 12/08/2009 22:42

Oh Dizzy - how awful.
I hope everything turns out ok.

Happy birthday to Emma and Tess.

My vile bug is continuing here today. There hasn't been any swine flu hereabouts yet, but DH spent last week in the uk, and was on planes there and back, so there is a possibility that I've picked up the flu that way I suppose. Thanks for the sympathy and the wonderful chicken soup.

I vote for the beach house too. So cool!

hotterpotter · 13/08/2009 09:45

I should not be here as I am supposed to be working...but,

Happy Birthday Tomás, Happy Birthday Eibhlin, Happy Birthday Lexie

sarahnh · 13/08/2009 11:02

happy birthday Thomas, Eibhin and Lexie!!!!

Hope Hollie is found Dizzy....

Got a poorly baba today, been up with her on and off all night.. finally getting up at 4.30am... so tired zzzzzzzz

dizzydixies · 13/08/2009 11:36

Happy Birthday Eibhlin, Tomas & Lexie

I keep giving that a double look as DD2 is mentioned and its not her birthday

Hollie still not home but we possibly know who has her - they took her from outside the house and have not brought her back to try to trace us, nor phoned the police/dog warden/vet

we were out putting up posters EVERYWHERE this morning and fortunately someone told us where she was taken - at least we know she's not hurt or in the water [meep]
