Miamla I fully agree why on earth were we given breasts that produce milk if our LOs weren't supposed to have it? I also thought that one of the reasons babies weren't supposed to have cow's milk as their main drink until after 1 was that there wasn't enough nutrients in it including iron (but I may have got that wrong). DS loves liver and spinach so thinking he gets quite a lot. He also had vitamin supplement with iron from 6 months to 9 months which is another way round it.

Poppy that sounds horrible must be v. difficult for all of you

Red well done DD2 on saying bum despite the reaction

TS I'm sure your weekend will be lovely.

oopsacoconut · 07/08/2009 06:13

Morning

We were sharply woken this morning by DD choking on snot and they spectacularly throwing up all over me and she has been feeding for the previous 10 minutes! Poor girl gave herself (and us) quite a fright. I DH got up and got towels and things then went back to bed DD and I came down to snuggle as she really wasn't ready to be awake. Can't bath as there is no hot water yet.

Will be back when I've bathed and don't smell anymore.

Morning all

Yay! Got the day off! Still been up since 6.20am but no vomiting babies (poor minioops ) or wet beds (poor Sazzles) just DD

Gah, poo duty x2...

AnnVan · 07/08/2009 08:12

morning all

ts you're drinking Rooibos Tea!! When we first moved to the uk, you could only get it in herbal shops, now it's everywhere. I was practically weaned on the stuff. so one tip with it is if you (or the dd's) have an upset stomach, drink it black it's excellent for settling the stomach.

Oops lovely hugs for your poor dd, what a nasty wakeup.

sazzles I think we have yet more teeth coming. I think this boy is trying to get them all through quick. Sister's dd2 is 6 days older than him and has no teeth at all, he has four and seems to be working on the next two already. I'd really hoped for a break between the top two coming and the next lot.

hotterpotter · 07/08/2009 08:20

Ewwwww not Rooibos tea it's horrible (sorry Ann ) get some proper Tetley Tea down you

Thought my DS was teething too, night waking, vile nappies, etc, but symptoms have subsided with no new tooth he does have 8 already but has had those for ages now. Take comfort Ann, the quicker he gets them, the sooner teething will be finished

hotterpotter · 07/08/2009 08:22

DS just turned the telly on all by himself and he's managed to put it on 5 where Peppa Pig is on seems likely that DD will no longer believe my stories that children's telly doesn't come on till at least half past four

Gives me time to MN though...

RedLentil · 07/08/2009 08:34

Oops - DS did that a lot in the winter of his first year. Not nice at all but perfectly normal ... Maybe a drop of water first so that is what gets brought up?

Miamla · 07/08/2009 08:35

morning all, DP got up with DS at 6.30 but i'd already been up 3 times during the night for him so i definitely earnt an extra hour in bed!

i've started cathcing up but only got as far as....

TS sorry but your tea incidents made me smile! you're so lucky Reese didn't burn herself though Have to agree though, it does look tasty. have you managed to drink a cup of it yet?

sazz i'm v impressed you sorted a wash out at 3am. you truly are a great mum

oops so frightening. hope you're enjoying your snuggle

nez you see, either we're both talkking sense or we're both wrong

LoveBuckets · 07/08/2009 08:39

TS Think DH might have found it first LOL! You get rooibos from your doctor? We get it from the supermarket.

Oh Oops what a start to the day, it can only get better.

Well Kurt's spots have vanished so pox alert is off and my period pains seem to have gone with them, yay. And weather forecast for today is good so it's off to the zoo with a picnic lunch.

Miamla · 07/08/2009 08:40

pert thanks for the 'info' from your blw book

redLegume bum! fanastic! well done DD1

ds just typed saz`... sazz? why ds sending you secret messages?!

poppy poor dd1. i've no advice but wanted you to know i'm thinking about you all

hotterpotter · 07/08/2009 08:42

Typical, I have time to chat and there's no fecker here...OK I'll talk to myself then

Hard to believe that exactly 52 weeks ago I was splashing around in my birth pool wondering how long it would be until my baby was born (answer - 2 hours 3 minutes ). Now he is almost one he can:

  • walk although he prefers crawling if he's in a hurry
  • eats anything and everything
  • has eight teeth
  • sleeps through but only has one nap
  • can say mama, dada, daa (ta), dat (cat), digadigadiga (tickletickletickle)
  • loves climbing more than anything, on the toilet, on the table, the windowsill and he proper screams if you get him down when he really wants to stay up
  • has lovely blue eyes, silky blond hair and a beautiful smile [melt]
hotterpotter · 07/08/2009 08:43

LOL - too busy chatting to myself = multiple x-posts

Miamla · 07/08/2009 08:48

buckets hope you have a lovely day. i love picnics especially if someone else has prepared it all!

hots shame there's no feckers round to chat to

Sazzles one advantage of working in a large government department is that I am pretty good at filling in government forms

Have a lovely day everyone

LoveBuckets · 07/08/2009 09:29

Dizzy Have finally found the cheap shoes link, it wasn't from you afterall but you will love it:Cheap kids' shoes I have just ordered a footgauge from Startite so I can measure the kids at home and never have to face the horror of 3 kids in a shoeshop. My footgauge starts at small size 9 though, there is a smaller one for littlies. I reckoned £6.99 was a good investment with 3 kids and I have 2 lots of school shoes to buy this month .

sambo303 · 07/08/2009 09:35

morning all I see i'm the last up

dp has my sickness so it seems it was a bug not something I ate. Ds not napping today, but wailing in bed with dp - have lost the important sleep cue book, not sure if that's the reason he wont go to sleep today

grim and raining today here; got to sort out revenue advertising for NCT newsletter, starting to wonder why I volunteered for such a horrible job

off to have another look for that book...

oopsacoconut · 07/08/2009 09:45

Now I'm back you've all gone out!

DD went for a nap at 8 after a big bath with me, I went to join her and could I sleep?? could I? Could I feck! So I have hung out the washing I put on at 5.30, put on a second load so it WILL rain today! So anyone in the south west can blame me when the sun goes in.

I am going to finish off DD's party invites and order the cake tin. She is having a 3d duck! Everything in like revolves around ducks at the moment.

No1 - I will upload a piccie of DD in her new t-shirt bought in honour of your pony buying.

BAck in a bit eyeball peeler in the travel cot!
