gui- i am a bit of a francophile actually too but i thought it even more long winded to say that connection and the fact that i just LOVE playing with words

-my cat is liking out my oatmeal bowl -

auld insert whiskey instead of gin bit i'd so do the same...shove all the mess into a box or two and tuck it away for later

bebemoo · 21/08/2009 12:22

licking that was

and moo has been in 'crawl position' up on hands and knees...but she doesn't do anything but throw herself forward from that position then scream because she's still on her belly

AuldAlliance · 21/08/2009 12:27

bebe, the mess is mostly boxes left over from the move. they are everywhere.
and the house is full of sand from the boulodrome adventure...i have washed all the floors, but to no avail.

bebemoo · 21/08/2009 12:32

stack the boxes so the make a house for the kids to play in then ;) and give everyone flip-flops and leis then say that they're to pretend they're at the beach.

(all joking aside I feel for you. DH does stuff like that to me too and it is very frustrating and stressful. Fingers crossed he's home in time to help.)

Schulte · 21/08/2009 13:47

Finally caught up . Brambles are Brombeeren in German so I prefer that and DD1 always gets blueberries and blackberries mixed up.

Auld - . Yes do go and hide somewhere with Alex. Somewhere nice!

Bebe - let us know if the good sleeping continues with the baby rice. Gui, have you considered early weaning for H?

Went to softplay this morning (and at last, H fell asleep in the car) and one of my friends' sons (who is 2 1/2) was behaving very oddly, wouldn't play, then fell asleep sitting on the floor, she had to get a blanket out to lie him on it. Looked like he was coming down with something horrible, hope it's not swine flu! Bit worried for her as she also has an 8 week old

Have just sat DD1 in front of Postman Pat so I can get a bit of time to MN while H naps. Feeling guilty...

bebemoo · 21/08/2009 14:15

well last night i gave her about the same amount -maybe a bit less- and she was up at 3 then 8 so better than every 2 hours like last week; but still not back to 'normal'

bebemoo · 21/08/2009 14:33

Hopefully it's not swine flu. But if there's nothing else wrong with him then he should be ok even if it is. Fingers crossed.

Put moo in her bouncy door swing again (it's been a very long time) and she's more interested in trying to eat it than anything else (well perhaps than talk to it). Hardwood on one side of the frame and carpet on the other does not make it particularly easy for her I think (to use it as it was intended) because her feet slip on one side and 'stick' on the other....she spends a lot of time going in circles

mathshoneybunny27 · 21/08/2009 14:35

Schulte - tbf blueberries are kind of black, and blackberries are more purplish....
I have just plonked DD1 in front of 'Land Before Time' whilst DD2 sleeps......

bebemoo · 21/08/2009 15:02

exasperation...

what do you do when your baby is being clingy and wants to be held and you have a million things to do which needs two free hands!

AuldAlliance · 21/08/2009 15:09

Schulte, Brombeeren is a great word.
Don't feel guilty about Postman Pat. You do what you have to, I reckon. DS1 has seen an awful lot of episodes of Fireman Sam and Little Red Tractor over the past 4 months. I convince myself it's doing his English skills good.

The thing that is intriguing me about this evening's visit is whether the friend booked 2 tickets for the concert thinking "oh, we'll just offload our 5 children onto AA and her DH", or whether DH offered. I suspect the former, as they were meant to be coming on Sat evening to stay and have just extended their visit. I wish I had that kind of barefaced cheek initiative.

I have now rewashed the floors and it's looking better. But I think it's so dry and dusty out that as soon as we go anywhere we'll bring loads of dust back in. The cot and fan are still awaiting DH's attention...

AuldAlliance · 21/08/2009 15:10

bebe: sling???

what is land before time?

mathshoneybunny27 · 21/08/2009 15:11

Sling..... ('soft' option)

Husband/sister/mother.... ('easy' option)

Or put them in an interactive whizzy electronic jobby that sings and rocks them and plays with them....('expensive' option)

Or what most of us do....mutitask/let them whinge

Little A always chooses her moments for this. Like when I have marked 17 pieces of coursework and am halfway through the 18th..

mathshoneybunny27 · 21/08/2009 15:13

OOh I forgot the final option...cuddle them all day, put them to bed and then run around like wildfire doing everything then ( = inadvisable but probably most common option)

mathshoneybunny27 · 21/08/2009 15:16

Auld: weird dinosaur film that DD1 is in love with

It's quite sad actually!

bebemoo · 21/08/2009 15:20

I just put her in her bed. I've had enough of the screeching, whining, pinching, fussing, wiggling, hair pulling...I know she doesn't do it on purpose but I feel like I'm being picked on...

AuldAlliance · 21/08/2009 15:31

ooh, maths that looks quite good. do you think a 4 yr old (but faint-hearted) boy would like it?
Feel we've milked fireman sam/little red tractor/charlie & lola for all they're worth.

Guimauve · 21/08/2009 16:03

Another option = hold the baby and say a merry bolleaux to all that must be done!!

Schulte - have pondered early weaning, but I'd like to leave it as late as possible. Will wait at least until we see the paed next week and take it from there. I don't want to do it purely for the sake of trying to put weight on, if the slow weight gain is not actually a problem IYKWIM.

bebemoo · 21/08/2009 16:12

I've given up cleaning. too much too do when moo's upset.

Gui I think that's wise. Though supplements might be an option too. It need not be a black and white issue of bf or weaning

bebemoo · 21/08/2009 17:30

toooth! i see a tooth!

Feierabend · 21/08/2009 19:39

Good evening

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 21/08/2009 20:26

do we know you?

Feierabend · 21/08/2009 20:34

I felt like a name change

mathshoneybunny27 · 21/08/2009 20:49

yay for toooooooooooth! That explains it at least.

gingersarah · 21/08/2009 23:53

qui est feierabend?

dawntigga · 22/08/2009 09:43

moo now you get to put your finger in baby moo's mouth and feel the tooth boak! I can't do it so Sam is on Ashton and wotsit powders for teething.
