Hellllllooooooooo?????

Where is everyone?

Bebemoo, thedailyfemale and Guimauve all have shiny new names and are feeling lonely!

Hi Bicnod

gingersarah · 17/08/2009 08:40

How nice you all look in your new names.
I have posted on the fb thread to say sorry but V and I won't be able to make it this afternoon - she is still not as well as she should be and I would prefer not to take her out at nap time. Sorry! It's a beautiful day and it would be lovely to see you all in the park - I am regretting this decision already. Definitely next time.

Have a good day, Aprilixes

dawntigga · 17/08/2009 09:22

Might be off line for a bit.

Love you all - in a platonic way don't sue!

SmoochesTiggaxx

Schulte · 17/08/2009 09:30

Ladies. My poor head is going to explode if you all change your names! I can't keep up!

We discovered a wonderful swimming lake just a 45 minute drive from our house yesterday. DD1 just walked into the water in her clothes and sat down

Very much looking forward to our picnic in the park later!

PuzzleRocks · 17/08/2009 10:07

Ginger - That's a shame. I hope she is better soon.

Schulte - You must tell me all about it later. I wonder if it is that close to me too?

mrsgboring · 17/08/2009 11:09

Hello all sorry for disappearing. Do you remember me??

I've just about kept up with reading the thread, but really sorry can't catch up properly at the moment.

Apologies for the following me me me blether. It is by way of an explanation for my crapness.

Have been having a crisis with Edmund's weight, so have literally spent every spare moment feeding him. He's stayed the same (or actually shhhh lost 60g) for the last four weeks. We've reached crisis point and since he's 17 weeks tomorrow I've reluctantly decided to start him on solids as he needs to be heavier for his operation. Plus he is quite significantly off the bottom of the chart now and this can't go on. I've chosen food over formula mostly to try to protect the breastfeeding - I don't want anything to jeapordise the breastfeeding or cause E to develop a bottle preference. (Since he seems to be a tricky feeder I fear he might)

Sigh, so the guilt and exhaustion here are massive at the moment, but in between times we've had a nice time. DS1 has gone feral and the house is a midden, though so time to do something about both those things while E sleeps.

Sorry again for the me me me me me me me post.

Schulte · 17/08/2009 12:01

Hello MrsG! I am sure it's the right decision. Hope E will like the baby rice

bebemoo · 17/08/2009 12:17

hi all hope you enjoy your outings.

dh is off to bracknell;hopefully i'll survive...is it bad to contemplate having moo in the bed with me while he's gone? do you think she'd get too used to sleeping with me and want to do it while dh is home?

mrsg hopefully the supplements work! fingers crossed.

AuldAlliance · 17/08/2009 13:11

Hi everyone,
Mrsg, I'm sure Edmund will be fine on solids, and you'll all be better off for it. Keep us posted on how the weaning goes, as you'll be something of a pioneer on this list!

Bebe, do you want moo in bed with you to keep you company, or to bf more easily? I think if she sleeps with you regularly, you may find it hard to get her to stop as and when you want.

Not that I am in a position to give advice - A is starting his 'adaptation period' at the CM's next week (sob), and has not gone to sleep on his own for months. I suppose she'll just have to leave him to cry.

Nor do I have enough expressed milk, so unless I express a miraculous amount vvvv fast, he'll have to have both formula and ebm, and I don't know if that'll work out.

AuldAlliance · 17/08/2009 13:20

Ooh, forgot to say that A can now sit up (in his carrycot, with 1 hand holding on to the edge, admittedly).
Next thing I know he'll be down the pub.

Boules tournament was one of the most sedate events ever. NOT looking forward to tomorrow when the street sweeper lorry comes to "sweep up" all the sand. Dire warnings from neighbours have been issued, re shutting all windows, but sand getting in anyway.

bebemoo · 17/08/2009 13:34

well both really as moo is still waking quite a lot during the nights still...though i may not actually sleep any better if she's thrashing about like i know she does...
just don't know

AuldAlliance · 17/08/2009 13:37

Where is she sleeping now? By your bed or in a separate room?

bebemoo · 17/08/2009 13:40

separate room; she's been in the nursery since week 3 and by herself in there since week 6 with a short return to our room whe my mother was over and slept in the nursery on the spare bed and then she was beside me too while we camped...

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 17/08/2009 14:12

bebemoo DS1 was always in our bed when DP was away, and Orbit seems to be in it a lot these days as he's waking up a lot more than before. Obviously I only have Ds1 to go on, but we never had any problem getting him to sleep in his own bed even though he was in with us a lot in the early months. I'd do what works for you and what makes you happy, and don't worry about the whole 'rod for your own back' idea.

Personally, when I'm alone in the house I find I sleep better if all my babies are in bed with me, makes me feel less lonely and less vulnerable.

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 17/08/2009 14:13

Update on Orbit - he can sit propped up, and can roll over although he still doens't care for it much, and is busy teething like mad. No sign of an actual tooth yet though!

AuldAlliance · 17/08/2009 14:14

I don't know, bebe. Do you think, knowing her, she'd want to sleep with you all the time if she did so sometimes? How often would it be?
How did she adjust after your mother left and she moved back to being by herself?

bebemoo · 17/08/2009 14:35

good points wfh and auld... she didn't have trouble sleeping by herself after mom and camping; indeed she seemed to sleep better. i'm not sure how long i'd keep it up... mon-thurs until i get used to sleeping alone i guess... she does rather like her 'night' routine however, and often won't sleep unless we do each part of it... hmm perhaps we'll have a trial run tonight and see what it's like. tonight being the hardest for me being it's the first

good job orbit! you must be super pleased

bebemoo · 17/08/2009 14:52

Moo is so interesting to watch... She tries with all her might to sit up from laying on her back just like you or I would i.e. by doing a sit up , only she doesn't know about momentum and so she does ab crunches instead and gets horribly frustrated because she does not accomplish what she wants. I've tried to show her that by rolling over onto her belly and then getting her hands and knees under her she could get up...but she has so far showed little real desire to roll over. My only hpe is the cat walking by her will some how spark her desire and make her realise what needs to be done. After all, her mother can't spend hours on the floor setting an example...

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 17/08/2009 15:09

yes, Orbit does the ab crunches too, you'd think they'd have amazing six packs by now! He goes all red in the face and grunts and groans and then collapses back in a heap

His latest trick is to scream at the top of his voice as soon as I leave him anywhere - not crying, just continuous loud screeching. It's lovely, it really is.....
