ts thats wonderful to hear about your dds getting on so well. I am sure it will last.me and my older sister are very very close. In fact we used to live together and she would love us all to live in one big house with the kids and no men
every time she buys things, eg car, horse, now tent, she thinks of me as her partner lol and gets things for us both. Hence the 7 seater car she just bought so we can all go out together. bless her.
my dd and ds however not sure about that yet. I took a pram back to my friends yesterday that I borrowed for holiday, was only on her drive and dd managed to scratch all ds arm.(several places) looks horrific,he absolutley sobbed. I sectrely cried.

hotterpotter · 14/06/2009 08:49

No1 I only made it back as far as yesterday morning, forgot you were back It's lovely to see you . Am very for you about your DH, what a rotter. Maybe I am a bit of a lush and have always got some wine in the house . We even have a bit of a drinks cabinet vibe going on with various spirits in a cupboard. That would never have happened when I was younger

Don't worry either it's not all sibling sweetness here either. DD loves DS to bits but she does nip/squash/push/tread on him . I don't have any words of wisdom I'm afraid, I just shout at her

Yes we will definitely have to meet up now you're back. I'm free Mondays and Tuesdays apart from 21 July.

dizzydixies · 14/06/2009 08:51

Ladies I have a confession - I've been cheating on you - this would be the place I visit the most when online but my obsession with the planning has taken over and thats the first place I look

can't remember who asked about the paper but I won't be in it as I have specifically asked NOT to - I wanted to keep out of it as I am on matty leave from work and didn't want them to think am setting all this up when they've been paying me to be off enjoying my baby

miamla I only wish I was closer and I could take him for a wee while to let you nap - shall remind you of this in 15yrs time when you're moaning about your lazy teenager that won't get up before 2pm

TS I'm thinking about the first transatlantic women doubles team! Although poor K will have to do all the work as all E wants to do is collect the tennis balls and put them back in the basket loving the fact the girls are having such good fun with each other - DH is always worrying that we won't be able to afford things for them like paying for a car/uni/deposit on house etc to which I reply that may be true but we've hopefully given them each other

No1 can I say thanks for brekker however seeing as we've all been up SO early and I'm shattered from the most horrid period I'm offering up left over pizza and vanilla cake made fresh this morning

thelovelypf how is she doing today? am always a bit nervous of shingles as having had chicken pox twice I'm sure I'm in for that at some point too - hope she's at least managing to enjoy her time with you

pertelote I agree completely with Hots, I enjoyed going back part time after DD1 and it was nice to feel like I was contributing to society other than being somebody's mum iyswim? I didn't enjoy it after DD2 but I had terrible PND and my mum was very ill so that tainted that one and this time I'm dreading it BUT only because of all the changes that have gone on - you've done such a fantastic job with M and she will be spoiltrotten well taken care of upon your return

hots do you at least have MN internet access at work so we can all be there on your first day back?

right thats the girls up so off to feed them - am delighted they had a good sleep as they've had two lateish nights and they have gymnastics this morning. Dylan will no doubt go down for her nap just in time for me needing to take them over

rain forecast here today from 10am so will need to rethink the day

and before I go oops you are a STAR - you're number 99!!!

dizzydixies · 14/06/2009 08:54

No1 your sister sounds like an absolute doll and not to worry about C and M wuite yet, I used to hate my brother but he's fantastic alright now imo (although shame about the dodgy choice in wife) and I wouldn't have gotten through last year without him - give them time to appreciate each other and they'll soon be ganging up on you

pertelote · 14/06/2009 09:41

Thanks guys, knew you'd make me feel like less of a heartless freak! I really do sympathise with those who are dreading going back though. And I would never have said I particularly loved my job (HE admin) but it has been quite flattering to hear how keen they are for me to go back and play a big role in the reorganised dept

Miamla you are amazing. I don't suppose T knows me well enough to stay with me happily for an afternoon while you sleep but I'm very willing to try if you want? Text/email/fb me if you want to get together this week.

Hi No1, lovely to see you back! about your DH though, how rude.

alittlebitshy · 14/06/2009 09:50

Pert i said the same to miamla We could do it together if need be. (bear in mind I have to be in the car at 2.45 ish to get dd from school)

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/06/2009 09:55

hotter we do have alcohol in, but dh drank his beers, our wine and i bought a bottle of bulmers for myself as i dont drink very often, and he drank that too, thats why he offered to go to the shop for some wine for me to have when kids in bed.

dizzy what is this voting thing???

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/06/2009 09:56

albs x post sorry. How is your sun burn this morning??

and dizzy oh yes to the pizza and cake

alittlebitshy · 14/06/2009 10:10

sun burn sore! and starting to peel aready .

Miamla · 14/06/2009 10:10

hi all, you're all being so sweet, i'm ok. i had a whole hour nap this morning when he flaked out so feeling alot more human now. what the early morning did mean though is that the ballgown i'm making is finished apart from the hem so not all bad

not sure if i've told you but its looking likely that i'm going back to work for a couple of days a week. mum has given in her notice at work and she's planning on taking at least a few months off. Then she's either retiring or looking for another job. Meanwhile, I've got my top choice of childcare for 2 days a week My mum's great! She's even offered to have him over night to see if it breaks the cycle of regular wakings. There's no way i'd put him or her through that just yet

pertelote thank you, that's a lovely offer but this week a bit crazy, i haven't got time to sleep! mon-dress fitting, tues-hospital bum appt wed-bro's birthday thurs-DP's bday and friday-meeting at work. Blimey, i may as well say goodbye to you all tonight as chances of me getting on MN look minimal! We should def sort out another mini-meetup though, the last one was fun

No1 another one at your DH. i hope he's having humble pie for breakfast. did he tell you why he did it?
Your sister sounds truly lovely

dizz DP and i have already had that particular converstaion and we're both in agreement that there is absolutely no way DS is ever have a lie in
good point about staying incognito re the cafe project, you're a wise lady!

hots you're a wise lady re your drinks cabinet

Miamla · 14/06/2009 10:11

and hello to everyone else i've missed, sorry not more detailed messages... i need a wee!

dizzydixies · 14/06/2009 14:11

No1 have forwarded the message on facebook that I sent re the cafe - its not voting as such, more messages of support

is it bed time yet?!? surely its bed time?

have made vanilla cake and marmalade muffins so DH is off to work laden down with much cakage

dizzydixies · 14/06/2009 14:25

my lovely friend has just turned up and taken DD1 and DD2 to the park with her two so with Dylan napping and DH heading off to work I'm hopefully going to have a few moments to myself, bliss!

although I am going to be doing their facepaints when they come back but even so, bliss

LoveBuckets · 14/06/2009 14:34

Anyone fancy a free minibreak in Southampton this summer hols? Basically I need someone to feed my pets when we're off to Wales (Aug 15-21st) and thought hey, someone might like to use it to get away from it all. Like the Mumsnet houseswap forum but with a pay-it-forward vibe.

Can't promise how tidy the house will be but there would be clean bedlinen, ample beds, cot and highchair. 3mins walk to lovely park by river, 3miles from town centre (and Ikea!), useful trains and buses, drive to beaches and New Forest, other prettier towns LOL. 1 love-starved cat and 2 not-very-tame guinea pigs.

dizzydixies · 14/06/2009 14:47

oh god I'd love to but I start back to work on the 20th [thud][meep]

RedLentil · 14/06/2009 16:54

Too far for me buckets but thanks for the offer.

Dizzy, I'm off to do your planning thing next.

alittlebitshy · 14/06/2009 17:10

ooh we had a Corpus Christie procession too redlentil. Admittedly only around the block after communion but fun all the same!

alittlebitshy · 14/06/2009 17:12

had v scary moment.
ds crying. dh went in to living room where kids were, yelled for me. Ds had got himself tangled up in balloon string He has a mark around his neck poor lamb. I've been sobbing and have unneccesarily blamed dd

PetitFilou1 · 14/06/2009 17:23

Hi all
Just a quick message to say thanks all for thinking of dd - she is fine though. A bit scabby looking but fine! She had sub clinical chickenpox previously (ie one or two spots but that was it) so watch out if you think your los have not had it as they may actually have had it after all.... Very tedious remembering both her medicines every three hours but shingles doesn't seem to affect los in the same way as adults - fortunately.

Anyway, dh v cross that I am back on here so back another time...

RedLentil · 14/06/2009 17:34

Hi PF. Albs - you poor thing. You were there to stop it getting serious and it won't harm DD1 to get a clear sense that DS is breakable.

My MIL is obsessed with giving DS bits of string to play with and can never understand why I'm paranoid about it.

Balloon string I wouldn't have had the radar up for though ...

I hope you are feeling better.

dizzydixies · 14/06/2009 19:13

Albs understandable reaction, no wonder you got a fright - hope all well now

PF I wondered about that as I think DD2 had it when she was 8months old and DD1 had it

lentil you are my 100!!! thank you

RedLentil · 14/06/2009 20:13

No problem.
I feel we may soon need Aug'08 headed notepaper though.

dizzydixies · 14/06/2009 20:22

shall leave that to TS and her admin skills

PetitFilou1 · 14/06/2009 21:08

Very quickly again while dh does some folder sorting

albs sorry about the balloon string incident. def very scary but we've all been in similar near miss situations and unfortunately if we haven't we will at some point. You just can't watch them 24/7.Hope he is ok now.

buckets am working that week before properly going back in Sept so no can do sadly - but another time I would take you up on it!

Hope all ok. I am hoping dd is ok to go back to preschool tomorrow. Toby is four teeth richer but now seems to be (finally) sleeping through the night - lets hope I haven't jinxed that now though. I'm just waiting now for the 10-21 day chickenpox incubation period although hope he doesn't catch it as ds1 got it really badly at 14 months....

Now off to have a rest as haven't sat down for several hours

dizzydixies · 14/06/2009 21:33

PF go and relax, and thats an order
