OMG, that was loooong...!

Purple, nope, no shaking. Not that I recall, anyway.
I was, however, told that my cervix was "low", having been more or less dragged down by the swift passage of the baby, and that I'd need intensive fanjo therapy.
(Remember that thread??? am due to start this week, but haven't got round to arranging it yet . Will provide anthropological insights when I get going.)

Were any of the other speedy birthers told this?

Mrsgboring, yes, Alex is very, very pimply.

Frekkles, I imagine you and Harris walking along the Water of Leith, through the Botanics, around Calton Hill and Arthur's Seat, and I am extraordinarily .

Schulte · 26/05/2009 09:18

One of my NCT friends had a very spotty baby and the maternity nurse (yes she hired one for a whole week, the lucky thing!) put Aveeno cream on it and the spots just disappeared. Not sure this is officially recommended though. Not even sure Aveeno is meant for babies?

Schulte · 26/05/2009 09:20

Yes Auld brilliant post, loved it.

PuzzleRocks · 26/05/2009 09:20

I wasn't told that Auld but I can see my cervix with a mirror so I guess it is pretty low. It was the same with DD1 but seemed to move up again. I assumed this was the case with everyone, no?

Ginger, glad you had a better night. Makes all the difference.
The heat has calmed down here, thank God. Alex wanted to feed every 2 hours, but then had awful tummy troubles, I didn't know what to do.
It was 29° in our bedroom yesterday, so I had DS1 sleeping in the living room, the coolest room, and Alex and I slept in DS1's room. DH for some reason decided to go it alone in the sauna up at the top of the house. I made a lot of beds this morning.
Now it is raining, because I washed sheets last night. They'd have dried in half an hour yesterday; today they are hanging on the kitchen pulley, getting in the way, and will take 2 days to dry.
Sod's Law.

AuldAlliance · 26/05/2009 09:25

Glad you others agree with the post. It came from the heart, I have been thinking about this a lot recently.
Hope it helps Ginger and the other first-timers.

Dunno about the cervix thing, Puzzle. Have my 6-wk appt with gynae on Friday, will see what he says.

We have had sex twice.
I have lost my G-spot. Honestly.

oh that reminds me, i'll need to wash sheets as well. i was woken up at 4 (just when isla had finally settled) by the sound of DS PEEING. he had, in his sleepy state, stood up by the pillows and let loose.

PuzzleRocks · 26/05/2009 09:33

Nutty - Glad you noticed, I thought my post had been too subtle. I was about to start shouting I HAD SEX. There was still two glasses of champagne left from Sunday night.
I feel human again.

trista - that was a great birth story! made me LOL!

tristalewjac · 26/05/2009 10:49

All I kept remembering was Mathsmummy saying "I think I know the difference between a poo and a baby"

Oops! I didn't, ha ha!

yeah that's true nutty.
I also did an Optimus Prime impression but thought I'd leave that one out of birth story!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 26/05/2009 11:00

trista - i couldn't tell either and i wasn't on anything!
i told the midwife taht there was a poo stuck and as soon as i got it out then the baby could come out. she told me it was the baby's head.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 26/05/2009 11:28

gahhh

isla has been crying and fussy all morning. she's currently asleep in the sling. i need a shower. what do i do?

purplemonkeydishwasher · 26/05/2009 11:45

and of course as i posted that she woke up and started crying again!

AuldAlliance · 26/05/2009 11:48

have a swift shower then...! d'you have a bouncy seat you can pop her in for 5 mins?

purplemonkeydishwasher · 26/05/2009 12:07

i put her in the swing and managed to shower and put on a bit of makeup. feeling much more human now.
might even leave the house today!

tristalewjac · 26/05/2009 12:09

woohoo well done at being human purple!

tristalewjac · 26/05/2009 12:11

HV just left. She was furious at doc for not helping me.
She had made an appointment for me to see a really nice doc to get the stuff for the thrush. Lovely lovely HV!!

PuzzleRocks · 26/05/2009 12:19

Nutty - Go for it, just take time outs and leave as soon as you start to flag.
