Trista- now I dont cringe much (gut chickens etc) but even tome keeping bogeys is grim

Puzzle - that pram is way to swanky for me and Im nuch much much older than that

BB- I'm pleased London went well. I havnt even tried expressing yet this time. Did too much last

Nutty- have you tried a sling. I do everything with an attachment and mn while feeding

Kali- I'm glad you feeling more up. Hope it continues

Mrsg- Pleased that bits over for you both. i hope the results are good.
I love slings too though funds have kept them to 3. I havn't used a pram yet either and I get out a lot.

Auld this weekend sounds a lot nicer. He sounds scared, like he 'ug' can't look 'grunt' after you all to his [self}expected standard

BB- why woul hv tell you off. Mines been on sick leave and ra\ng me yesterday to say congrats and she was just double checking was ok as have requested no more visits
I do mums and tots except its really me and 3 mates meeting up at playgroup, drinking coffee and chatting while the kids run round the garden. I wouldnt do it if they werent my mates anyway
As for a run you asked for ideas... how about don't!

Other random comment. Sex? well we would butr we keep forgetting to buy condoms. Theyre ordered on myshop arriving sunday. Dh took another sample in yesterday. He needs two all clears for us to be safe

Is everyone else having a bad baby day today.

So we have a mouse - DH saw one last night and I swear I heard russling in the kitchen - didn't sleep a wink and had Kara in his moses basket on the bed (even though we are on the third floor) in case it came up the two flights of stairs and this morning, I spot some mouse poo by the bin, I then decide to pull out the freezer (OH MY WORD there was about 100 mouse drops) then the tumble drier, fridge, and washing machine - all hiding mouse poo - it has to have been there for ages! Have blocked the pipe whole that I think it is coming from but I have no idea where it is or when it will be back - don't want to kill it in a trap but I CANNOT have it in my house!

Now to catch up!

Nutty you OK?

Hey Boff ((hugs))

Yay for olliepops smiles!

Purple ouch for thrush - good luck at drs!

Ginger will join you on the swearing FUCK BOLLOCKS CRAPBAG!

Conker - pre-pregnancy I would run about 10k three times a week but then I was pretty fit before I turned in to a baby oven, and did running and weight training alternately six days a week, - was told to stop both at 8 weeks because of the pressure on my muscles so am nowhere near that fit anymore so need to build myself up again, (will probably take 9 months to get back into that sort of shape!) I probably ran about a mile ish yesterday although was very slow-paced and heavy-going!

Kara is being a little bugger today, have already had three massive tantrums with hair pulling and kicking / hitting (him not me - don't call social services!!!) - he is now sleeping - who knows if it will last more than 5 minutes!

for BB

BofftheToff · 22/05/2009 10:07

Hi Nutty

I am OK but tired. Yesterday I was a bit wobbly because I went to DS2's old school (where DS1 still goes) to pick up DS1 and take all the boys for an ice cream and out to the park on the way home (nice bench there for SPD people to sit on).

This is the first time I have been down there since Felix arrived, and the first time I have tried to take the boys out on my own since November. We have had a child at this school for 7 years, and we know loads of people, so I expected people to say hello and ask how I was and look in the pram and coo, that sort of thing. I would have welcomed the conversation, tbh.

Except only one mum did, a mum I don't know very well. Everyone else carried on huddling like gossipy fishwives and chatting and ignored me. They couldn't be bothered to say hello, despite me smiling at them hopefully, and nicely.

I know I shouldn't mind because they are twats, but I did mind. It was like being at school again myself where some girls were truly horrid. Plus I felt hot and fat and my hair was a mess and I felt very self-conscious in my badly fitting sick smeared black jersey.

DH and DD say they are stupid jealous people and I know this is probably true, but I am only ever nice to people down there so I don't like them being so yukky towards me.

PuzzleRocks · 22/05/2009 10:12

Boff - Your having a baby probably only reminds them that their sex lives dried up years ago. Don't let the silly cows get you down.

BofftheToff · 22/05/2009 10:17

BB, kill it with carbon dioxide like here

BabyBolat · 22/05/2009 10:18

Thanks Puzzle! will try that one!

Boff what nasty nasty nasty women! WEll I think they are jealous because -

  1. You are the one with a beautiful little baby
  2. You took your child out to a better school
  3. You are fabulous and they are not!

It's hard not to let them get to you but when people are horrible to me for no reason, I try and tell myself how it must be horrible to be them and spend my entire life so miserable and nasty!

BofftheToff · 22/05/2009 10:19

Ta Bronze

Good thing I am fat at the moment or they probably would have spat at me for looking good as well.

BofftheToff · 22/05/2009 10:22

I think the fact we are also making the effort to send DS1 to a special kind of comprehensive school in a different area hasn't helped either. None of them speak languages or look much beyond the village.

Carameli · 22/05/2009 10:24

Hi all, this is my first mumsnet in weeks. Theo will be 4wks on Sunday. Thing are great feeding wise and not too bad at night with sleeping, only waking twice and last night once which was so so lovely.

He is showing colic signs and i so hard to get to sleep or even put down during the day. DS1(2.5yr) and I just came back from a walk with him to see if he would drift off in his carrycot. He is starting to rumble in the next room so I will have to be brief.
Have tried dentinox drops and they help a little but not during the day.
Has anyone tried cranial osteopathy here. I am thinking about it as he does seem really unsettled a lot of the time.

right must go before it develops into a fully blown scream.

BofftheToff · 22/05/2009 10:24

I am fabulous I am fabulous I am fabulous

BofftheToff · 22/05/2009 10:26

Hello Carameli

Felix gets a bit colicky in the evenings, but I just swaddle him, carry him around, and pat him a bit. I'm not a great fan of colic drops. Warm baths help him a lot though.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 22/05/2009 10:31

"Is everyone else having a bad baby day today."

oh dear god yes

conkertree · 22/05/2009 10:31

if you are using traps bb - and can spare the chocolate - use it as bait. has always worked for us.

boff - bet there were some who would have loved to come over, but they were already in a group and the ring leaders werent going over so they didnt either - pathetic I know but it is incredible how behaviour from school days continues into adult life. Agree with the others that they were probably just jealous of your beautiful boy and your sex life .

bb - i keep thinking about dusting off my trainers but might give it a week or two yet as have felt my pelvis still a bit when out walking so dont want to do any damage. couple of 10ks coming up in August/September that I might aim for though. My goal is to do the Venice marathon - have done london twice but not with great times, so really want to do a reasonable time one day. Apparently the best time to run one is in your 30s if you are female, and once you've gone through labour, a marathon is much easier .

mrsb - that sounds like quite a collection of slings. It is an ellaroo wrap that I have - never tried a ring sling but i love the wraps, although never mastered feeding in it with ds1 and would love to with ds2.

gingersarah · 22/05/2009 10:34

Looby, are you worried about PND? Being run down won't help. Have you got a nice hv or gp to talk to? what does your dp think? Thinking of you...

Boff - ignore the eejits - BB is right, they are tragic. I bet you looked blooming and beautiful and they didn't notice vomit on your jersey and the didn't know what to do with themselves.

OK will post more later but have to deal with Poo Lake (ballet performed with the corps de ballet in mustard yellow tutus, fluttering around like swirly pools of thick fluid)
