missj had something similar last night - ended up just putting him back too bed and going to sleep myself, fortunately James took that as a cue to nod off (finally!)

Morning,

Just back from my walk, left straight after the school run. According to my pedometer I have done 8,000 steps and that is 3.5 miles - felt further though, phew its so hot and all uphill on the way back! Had to walk to the pharmacy to buy compeed, as I now have a lovely blister on my big toe because I forgot I was wearing my old cheapy crocalikes until I felt the blister. (Typical, considering I have just purchased a french manicure kit for my toenails so that my feet look decent on Friday night.)

80 hrs without refined sugar now. Felt like death this morning, humdinging headache and really twitchy, but took some paracetamol and decided to slog on and it seems to have worked.

Just had a thought about this sugar detox thingy, hope no-one minds me going on about it. I'm only doing it as if I tell everybody what I'm up to I'm more likely to stick with it.
On my travels I saw a lady who must've been 80 at least, looking incredibly funky in a long summery hankerchief hem skirt, little fitted crop jacked and lovely strappy wedges. Seeing her gave me a right kick up the proverbial. If she can do it so can I! So, am off to order some stuff for next day delivery. Might take your advice Tree and order a few things to choose from then send back what I don't want.

Those with nocturnally playful babies. That is exactly what dd was doing a couple of weeks back, I though I was going nuts with sleep deprivation, but she has stopped it now and last night slept through from 11.00 to 7.00 without waking up or disturbing me - so there is hope.

moosemama · 03/06/2009 11:53

Oh yes, forgot.

Spoke to ds1's teacher this morning. She was very sympathetic, said she had noticed he was sad yesterday and had tried to get to the bottom of it, but he wouldn't tell her what was wrong. I think that is because of all things, they are teasing him in the toilets for not weeing through his fly but pulling the front of his trousers down instead. Poor little thing, he says he has tried to do it the other way but he gets wee on his pants so he doesn't like it and when I suggested he uses the cubicles he said they are always locked because the naughty boys go in lock the door then climb over the top and leave it locked.

I told her what is going on with him and she said they will have a chat today and get it sorted. Am fairly hopeful, but his teacher is head of KS1 and very busy which can mean that she will agree to something in the morning only to forget about it 5 minutes later when some crisis or other crops up elsewhere. So, will just have to wait and see now. He has chess club tonight so I won't find out how he's got on today until 4.15. Will be on pins all day.

treedelivery · 03/06/2009 12:12

Moose - am glad teacher was sympathetic. Remind her if she forgets? Poor little man.

Go girl and order everything. It's the only way. Let us know what you decide on

Supposed to be packing. But Hatts wont be put down.

Had beter sleep last night though.

Hi Books

Yes, Daddy is helping him and he is practising at home.

I too am a K cup nowadays with a size 14 waist and 14/16 hips. Its a nightmare isn't it.

Good on you doing the detox thing. I actually read an article yesterday in Prima magazine that says you shouldn't try and go cold turkey on sugar, you should halve it week on week, eg normally 2 sugars in tea would be one sugar the following week, then half a sugar the week after and a quarter the week after, then none. They reckon you should try this approach with all sugar in your diet. I'm afraid its cold turkey or failure with me, I just have to throw myself in at the deep end and be determined or I will give in to temptation at the first opportunity.

Have bought some new jeans from Fashion Union because I had a 25% off voucher here I went for skinny bootcut as I thought the flared bit would offset my wide chest and the mysterious blue colour as I thought the darkness would make me look slimmer generally.

I have also bought a couple of tops and some shoes from boohoo.com. They were in the sale and I'm not sure they will fit me until after I finish breastfeeding but I have some in similar styles and find them quite flattering despite being baggy this one and this one. Also bought some wooden soled mules. I've wanted some for ages but couldn't bring myself to buy leather as I am veggie and try hard to avoid buying animal products. These ones are faux leather so I can have them here.

Haven't really bought any of the styles I intended to. I was thinking wide legged linen trousers and shirt/blouse/kaftan with some nice mules. I think that was because I was worried about looking a bit mutton dressed as lamb though and after that granny this morning inspired me I thought, 39 the Friday after next I may be, but I'm not in my dotage yet.

If none of them suit, I will have to resort to one of my two nice maternity tops.

Hmm my style thread, embarrassingly, I can't seem to find it. Will have a search about and get back to you.

moosemama · 03/06/2009 14:08

Ok, second lot of links didn't work, it just takes you to the listing page. The tops are called Ura and Kara and the shoes are called Cyane (bought the black ones).

How weird... ds was up for ages last night too! I am shattered today as a result, and he had a 2/5 hour nap from 11, but I had crappy house stuff to do

I am very in awe of your detox moose- I would not be able to do it, atm at least- I am just too hungry. I have done it with alcohol before though, and I was successful, so maybe in a couple of months time... I have lost a couple more pounds since I last checked though, so I'm not overeating, I could just improve what I'm eating really, it;s just easier to eat junk

dog great news about the house!

Have a fab evening jules ... one more time...

treedelivery · 03/06/2009 16:42

Have a great evening Julia - hope it's great.

Am too in awe of detox, although am having less sugar overall due to being dairy free, the chocolate covered marzipan bars from Lyme Regis meet my craving needs.

Well done for shopping Moose Hope ds had a better day today.

Sorry to all those exhausted ones. Its the pits isn't it. We had a better night last night but still knackered as its long term ingrained in me.

I have mahoosive boobs too - but no waist at all, jaust a fat belly, and slim hips. like a drain pipe with 2 melons stuck own it. Ace!

Are you wearing the MBT thingies Moose, for your walking?

moosemama · 03/06/2009 18:16

Tree yes I am wearing my MBT's, but forgot this morning when I rushed out the house for the school run.

Today I am 3lbs lighter than I was on Monday, could be just weight fluctuation, but am thinking water loss (have been weeing for England and normally I'm a camel) . Mum reckons the water loss is something to do with the way our bodies store sugars in the body?

Ds1 is a lot happier today, his teacher has spoken to him, although she doesn't seem to have actually done much, but does seem to be feeling better about things and knows he can go to her if anything else happens.

I have discovered that one of the bully boys (the one who punched him and gave him a chinese burn!) is the son of one of the Mum's I have known for years, get on with really well and who sometimes comes part way on my walks with me. I haven't said anything to her as I wanted to see what the school did/said, but I know she would be livid with him if she did find out.

However, ds2 came home with a full on black eye plus really horrible cut near his eye. Apparently he had a nasty fall by the climbing frame in the reception playground this morning. I am a bit cross that they didn't call me with it being so close to his eye and a head injury, they are supposed to call you for any bump to the head and give you the option of taking them to a&e to be checked out. He also fell over in the big playground this afternoon and cut his finger and knee. I remember ds1 being clumsy at this age, although nowhere near as bad to be honest. Its something to do with their bodies growing out of sync to their brain development apparently.

Would you believe it, it was class photographs today as well, so ds2 will have his shiner preserved for all eternity in the home of every one of his classmates.

Hi Dog just scoffing the biggest salad the world has ever seen. Am sooooo hungry! Will be back later with links.

treedelivery · 03/06/2009 19:56

Dog - red gingham and hearts to me means Scandinavian style country stuff. White furniture, with white linen with red trim.

Sounds ace!

treedelivery · 03/06/2009 20:00

if you're feeling flush!

They have lovely gingham too!

PatTheHammer · 03/06/2009 21:16

tree do you work for the white company or something?? Those quilts are lovley though. How's it going, H seems a bit more settled, or are you just getting used to it

Dog Sooooo that you can do a boy and girl room. Red Gingham sounds lovely. Do they have anything at JoJomaman or GLTC?

Moose you are doing fab!!!! 3lbs is loads since monday! I have been ok today, survived a children's party on grapes, cheese and crisps (checked the label-no sugar but probably bad for me.....had no cake though!). Then spoilt it by having lemonade when I got home, I was so thirsty. God I am pants at this! Perhaps I should start afresh next monday and just keep cutting down like books . So sorry for your DS , hope it all works out well. Unfortunately, I know only too well how mean other kids can be in the school environment. Sadly it gets worse at secondary age. It does always amaze me that some pre-school and reception children come out with really mean comments. Makes me cos I guess they must be spoken to like that at home.

books sorry for your bad nights. It is supposed to cool down now so perhaps things will be better. Hope you have a fab weekend, where are you off to? Have you stocked up EBM or is DD having formula whilst you are away? I hope it all goes alright

HKZ shame about Legoland, I think my DD will love it! I didn't realise your DD was so young, if she is tall she will be fine aI think. There seems to be lots for tots, had a look at the website and other friends went recently and their 2 littl'uns loved it.

MissJ Poor you! Hope Nye back in routine when you get back to Wales. Oh, BB launch tonight isn't it, hope you have fun if you manage to go.

Jules Hope you are enjoying Britney at the moment. Toxic is my personal fave. God I would love her abs!

Had a VERY busy 2 days and my two have been sleeping like logs as a result. Great, but I am also knackered, can't keep up with them! Slimbridge was fantastic yesterday and have just joined so will be able to go whenever, for free! Very busy today, picked DD up from pre-school at 12 and then popped to party at lunchtime. Party was great, and then whizzed to meet-up!!!! Meet-up was fab, they were all really nice and the kids got on really well. Would recommend a meet-up to anyone who hasn't done it yet!

LenniEd · 03/06/2009 21:26

Job apps done and have read thread but am now ready to crash in front of Apprentice so will post later. With all those non-sleepers though, explain later.

Great news Dog on the house.

treedelivery · 03/06/2009 21:46

Pat - no, but if we had one would make dh work there in hopes of discount.

They meet my needs. I've shopped there since they started the company. Happy Sigh.

Leave for Cornwall in 6 hours, and we haven't packed, loaded or slept.

Ho hum!

Toxic was dh and my 1st dance together!! We decided we couldn't do that for wedding, so had Shed7 Disco Down cos we listened to it loads in labour.

Hope she's ace Jules

treedelivery · 03/06/2009 21:47

Need to start title thinking........

'Give peas a chance' As weaning is here?

EachPeachPearMum · 03/06/2009 21:48

3lb since monday? wow! Almost worth it!

moosemama · 03/06/2009 21:50

Right Dog here goes.

First things first, MBT sizing is different to normal shoes and you have to be shown how to walk in them, so you can't buy them online until you've been fitted. The stockist list is here and I have noticed that John Lewis sell them now.

Red and white gingham hearts sounds gorgeous, I agree with Tree it conjures up quite a scandinavian image. Have found quite a few bits online:

The first ones are surprisingly from Tesco direct:

Tesco gingham bedding

Thought these red gingham cushion letters were nice cushions and the store also does some funky pirate stuff here.

these red gingham and heart ikea storage boxes might be useful.

Whatever else you get, you have to get one of these!

This is sort of scandinavian styled.

This place does a range of red gingham heart stuff.

Jo Jo Maman do a red gingham beanbag chair and red gingham curtains.

Also, the White Company have 50% off red gingham curtains. Laura Ashley has a few red gingham bits, including a cute rug and you can get some lovely red gingham and hearts bunting and cushions either at notonthehighstreet or ebay. (For some reason it won't let me link to these sites at the moment.)

treedelivery · 03/06/2009 21:50

Gash that is good Moose. I hadn't computed.

Wow!

PatTheHammer · 03/06/2009 21:52

LOL at Shed7......I loved them!

Toxic as your first dance would have been great .

I was thinking of the title, but couldn't come up with anything witting; something about rolling, sitting teething and erm......shitting???
