Ah Sarah we all have days like that (quite a lot here recently with dc off school!!).

However, ds2 started school today!! He looked so smart in his uniform and was excited (and a little nervous). I did have a lump in my throat when I left him in his classroom. Picked him up at lunchtime and he seems to have enjoyed it. His teacher is from Poland and he says she's here on holiday and speaks another language but he can understand her.

It was soooooo quiet with just ds3 here this morning. He was at a bit of a loss without his brothers though - kept on going to the window and asking where they were (in his own language of course!). I do feel like a bit of sanity has been restored to my house.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 19/08/2009 14:22

awwww Rozzy how cute of your DS 3!!!!!! Bet you missed the boys too!!!!!

i must admit i think the hols are too long and the kiddies all get fed up!!!! Roll on sept 7th!!!! Harry starts back then xxxx

alkar · 19/08/2009 17:28

U2 ...

alkar · 20/08/2009 10:18

Just dropped DS off at nursery and didn't want to leave him, its the first time I won't see him before bedtime

gingermumi · 20/08/2009 12:48

oh alkar that's horrible, i know how you feel. he's probably have a whale of a time. It's so much worse for us than it is for them I think.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 20/08/2009 19:16

poor u Alkar,xxx

Just to let you know we are doing really well in the toddler bed, she gets in and out a few times and we keep taking her back but by 8pm (bedtime is 7ish!!!)at the latest out for the count til morning!!!!! so i think its a sucess for now!!!LOL

hope everyone is ok, xxx am going to put a scan pic on if any of you fancy a nosey"""!!!!

OP posts:
rozzyraspberry · 20/08/2009 21:12

Is your ds tired after nursery Alkar? My ds3 whines a bit in the bike seat when he's tired but loves it when he's not. Maybe just need to try it at another time of day.

Sarah you shouldn't put things like that on your profile - you'll be making the rest of us broody!!! Well done on the toddler bed!! My other 2 were in beds around this age but I'm not ready to 'release' ds3 yet! I wonder if the holidays are too long as well and maybe should be spread out a bit over the year - a lot of the other mums were saying yesterday that their dc were desperate to get back to school. Wouldn't be so bad if we could get decent summer weather. I think the teachers need the break though.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 21/08/2009 08:28

Rozzy those poor teachers definatley need the break!!!!!!

we are off out for the day today- on the train into Birmingham ds is so very excitied!!!!LOL

OP posts:
elliepac · 21/08/2009 15:51

We teachers do need the break .

Chaos in the elliepac household today. It is Ds's 6th birthday tomorrow so am running around like the proverbial blue bottomed fly trying to clean, get the shopping etc. DD has just kindly decided to help me by taking off her nappy FULL OF POO on the sitting room floor which i had just washed! The joys of parenthood.

swottybetty · 24/08/2009 14:01

happy birthday to ellie's ds hope you all had a nice day..

bessie - not much proper mumming goes on here at all . dh is out all day today and it has made me dread him going back to work next week. ho hum. at least i will have my swish new double buggy then. at the moment i am sling for bob maclaren for esther and its a real PITA. keep wondering how you are. you working FT?

sarah - did you have a nice time in brum? i cant check out your scan pic cause going to your profile crashes my internet

alkar how is your ds doing at nursery now? him sobbing makes me feel it will get better i am sure but that doesnt really help now, i suppose.

rozzy sounds like your ds2 settled into school easily . i think you are right, there should be more holidays spread over the year. but let's also keep the summer holidays really long too...

ooh, dd would love a proper bed. and a duvet and pillow. one of her favourite things at the moment is to pretend to go to sleep. we would never ever keep her in it tho. do you think it'd be legit to use a five point harness with a cot bed ??

rozzyraspberry · 24/08/2009 15:52

Oh no swotty you misunderstand me - not holidays throughout the year and a long holiday in summer!! You will learn when your little ones get more annoying bigger that long holidays can break a family. Little cherubs

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 24/08/2009 17:22

swotty i had a fab time in brum, spwent too much money nut bought some lovley baby bits !!!! (have hid them from Dh though i will get them out in a few months and swear they belonged to Harry or Rosie!!!)

had a catch up at a pub¬!!!!! with a friend who left work a while ago- she has twins aged 2.5 and has offered me her double mclaren pushchair and a buggy board for £40-00 so have snapped her hand off, i am hpoing to use the buggy board more than twin pushchair but as dd will only just be 2 i think i will need it sometimes and for $40-00 its a bargain!!!!

dd still doing well in big girl bed with duvet and pillow!!!! quite surprised at how good she has been !!!!

hope everyone is ok, xxxx

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 25/08/2009 14:54

where are you all?

OP posts:
alkar · 26/08/2009 21:11

DS climbs into my bed and covers himself up too swotty whilst saying bedtime - very cute.

Had DS on the bike again and he was much better so hopefully you were right rozzy and he was just tired the first time.

Well U2 were amazing its the 5th time I've seen them, they are such a great live band. Hope I dont have to wait another 4 years to see them again.

Lol at hiding the baby clothes Sarah, very clever

Me and DH have been talking about having another baby. DH has always wanted another but I have said no every time until my best friend said she wants another (our DSs are the same age). Thinking of starting to try Christmas 2010, don't want it any sooner than that. I bf DS for 13 months so I want my body back for a while before I do it all over again. Selfish???

swottybetty · 26/08/2009 23:19

yes, tres selfish alkar... tsk .

sarah, i am here! usually scanning rather than typing cause my net connection has a habit of crashing whenever i press the post button.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 27/08/2009 09:51

thank goodness was beginning to think i had scared everyone away!!!!!

Oh how exciting Alkar,!!!!! hope you plans all work out as you want them too!!!!

hope everyone is well, xxxx

OP posts:
Gill79 · 27/08/2009 23:46

Not selfish -me too Alkar! But may never happen cause still haven't managed to get my old body back!

V impressed with Rosie in a bed. Malc still likes to sleep any way up in the cot, on his face with bum in the air usually so can't see it happening soon.

Will be thinking of you at end of hols Swotty. Will be fine but take some adjusting. Was going to say fancy a day trip to London and meet in a park then realised errr maybe you wouldn't! But me and the boy can pop down and entertain you one day if you like.

I've gone up to three days a week now although doing one day from home. Went to get Malc a bit earlier from nursery that day and came in at music time when he was in the little room having his nappy changed and when he came out Dancing Queen was on; he came out charging for the dance floor a bit like when you're coming back from the bar with drinks and your favourite song comes on and you do the running / dancing to the dance floor thing. So at least I know he has a good time!

Loads of good words and combos. Am particularly proud of "oh no wheel broke" whenever Thomas' wheel falls off, and "daddy bike hat" as he likes to check DP has cycle helmet on before leaving for work. Also has a recognisable "squirrel" and "rabbit" that he learnt all by himself.

Have a lovely long weekend everyone; hope the sun shines with you. Slightly apprehensive about night out with my local mums tomorrow - always carnage - and this time it's in an actual club that doesn't shut till 3 lord help me.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 28/08/2009 08:24

have a fab time Gill, i wonder if you will be doing the whole drink to dance floor jig!!!LOL

its lovely when they start putting words together isn't it.

have a grerat bh weekend everyone xxx
