Yes it is rubbish about the programme, but there is one advantage, when it's finally broadcast I can assure you that I've lost all my baby weight and my bum is nowhere near as big as it appears on the TV.And as I haven't met any of you IRL yet then you'll be none the wiser.

Or systems come to Scotland where the earliest is 4 1/2 .

Oh multi-coloured casserole another favourite self feeding type meal hear - basically a mix of standby frozen veg (sweetcorn, peas, brocolli etc). All things he can feed himself and can also be spoon fed in between the fun.

Going - that's exctly what's happening to my sis. No more news, apparently it could take weeks and she has been confined to bed - not allowed to move in case a miracle happens. Rolf I have questions which aren't very nice so need to be asked away from the thread - what's your email address?

Thanks all for thinking of me, my sister and the babies.

Work has given me a part time role but I can only have it once they have filled my role so I have to go full time until then. Good news though (some good news!).

PS Puree - buyers didn't make an offer so we won't be neighbours soon I'm afraid...

you may jest Deb, but one of my colleagues is actually planning a sabbatical year in Berlin partly so that her son (nearly same age as Liam) can have an extra year in kindergarten! They are both German though so not as extreme a move as it might seem. I think Liam will be OK with school as he's used to nursery, but it will be quite heartwrenching too.

But not such a huge transition, as I think I've decided to work full-time from September onwards. We have to book in at nursery now if I am to get salary sacrifice childcare paid, and so I have to decide. I am currently 3 1/2 days but have just had a chat with my boss and there are a lot of good reasons to go full-time. It will suit me better; I'm extremely happy with the nursery, they both have such a good time there; and my job is flexible enough that if either of them need a break I can work from home for an afternoon. It does feel a bit selfish but only I think because culturally I'm expected to want to stay at home; but it's been interesting abdn seeing how happy you are at home with your kids. Love mine as I do, we are nevertheless all perfectly happy on nursery days and stressed out on home ones!

Someone asked about Hedgehog. After she went back to work she didn't have time to MN. I checked in with her on FB a month or two back and she was doing fine.

I've gone from being mum to 'boy' to not being on the list at all. (sob). This is what happens when you disappear off to do some studying.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the twins! Our first birthday. It doesn't seem possible that they could be one already.

The list makes me quite sad. All those people that we have lost along the way. Where is Katyjo? we haven't heard from her in ages, Is Ernest still around?

Meant to say earlier that I had the first of my child first aid courses last night. I can now do child/baby CPR. Didn't stop me from rushing upstairs and hugging a bewildered and formerly asleep baby though.

It was me that wasn't on the updated list at the top, and have been very good and spent another day in library. Am being good and not turning on computer to do some cutting and pasting. Hoping some kind soul will come along and put me and struan on...

I am assuming that Esther and Theo's b-day was listed wrong since it should be today so I've changed it. I think it's amazing that so many of us are still here!!!!

My day was less shitty today and Fraser coped better at nursery (D cried all day but I think he's just being a stubborn almost three...)

puree who did you do your course with? I got myself onto one being run by tesco somehow but had to miss it. I'd really like to do a course though.

abdn so glad to hear that you had a better day. S screams blue murder whenever he gets dropped off at nursery still, which I find very upsetting. I can't do the drop off at all (especially now he can crawl and tug at my trouser leg while sobbing), but DH is away a lot over the next few weeks so I'll need to toughen up. Was work better then too?

Evening. It's lovely seeing that original list, although I'd love to know what happened to some of the people. It was great to see greenfairy back again. Peartart, whatever happened to her? And needahand. And fungle. Others I don't remember so well.

I'm home alone for a couple of nights now, but next week it's 2 weeks solid with not even telephonic communication! Argh!

Who was it asking about birthdays (happy birthday Theo and Esther!)? I had decided that I was going to get Iestyn a swing, and said so to loads of people. But MIL phoned and asked what Iestyn wanted for his birthday ( ) and I said 'I'm going to get him a swing', and she said she'd seen one at her favourite shop (John Lewis) and would I like her to get it instead! Well, it was generous and really kind so I said yes, so now I'm looking for ideas of what I can get Iestyn!

Had a departmental meeting today and I have to convene a course for September on bilingualism. Not my topic at all, but I now have to find several speakers. I was enjoying my honeymoon period of v. little teaching but it wasn't to last, I suppose.

AH glad work's going well. Poppy you've gone all quiet - is everything ok? Also Sponge? I'm worried that the sad stories here put people off.

hey essie (am still faffing about on MN, don't tell puree she'll tell me off again ).

It was me who started the birthday chat, but haven't managed to engage anyone in it yet! I've been humming and ha-ing about some kind of outdoor toy (little tikes do a cute little swing play gym type thing) but then I keep thinking they're quite expensive, he might grow out of the suitable for a 1 year old quite quickly and if I wait till next year I can get something with a bit more longevity. Other than that I've been looking at the ELC garage, various ball pit things, sandpits (but again, think might be better next year) and erm, that's about it. He already has a wheely bug, my p's are getting him a wee wooden trike and I've got one of those activity cube with bead thingy's coming this week (bought with his Easter spends). It's hard to envisage what things he'll really enjoy in the 12-18 month stage as it will be so different to now.

What about you all with older DCs - what do 12-18 month boys and girls like?

Here's something to cheer you all up, after our sex ed talk, Stefan approached me a couple of days later to say he knew why somepeople didn't have babies. Oh yes, why, I asked nervously. It's because they sleep with their pyjamas on!!

BDQ - I can't remember what my older 2 liked at this stage. The longest lasting toy from Stefan's 1st birthday was something like thisbut not so luxurious and they both loved this We had a Little Tykes play thing for the garden with a slide and a door at the back, but I can't find the same online anywhere as it was 2nd hand when we had it so it's probably discontinued. sand pits are great imo.Tristan also had a wooden ride on toy from Habitat which was very basic but had a drawer in which he used to love filling up. Other hits - anything to push, once they get the hang of walking - buggies, toy lawnmowers, etc etc...
