loving Kitty BeeGee

Ooh yes, let's play fantasy baby names! At least in here we can all be crazy ladies in secret. I would still go for Maggie short for Marianne, heard Maggie May on the radio this week and it would be so lovely to sing 'Wake up Maggie I think I got something to say to you...' every morning. My shortlist was also Nancy, Heidi and Nico. Boywise, haven't got a clue, was hard enough agreeing on Kurt.

poppysocks · 02/05/2009 10:22

LOL at Kitty BeeGee. You see boys' names were always fine for us. Agreed on the whole caboodle on our first names conversation (discounting the first dozen, which descended into comedy dog/cat pairs - Glasnost and Peristroika our faves ]). Girls always more of a prob, but as I don't have to consult DH on a fantasy baby's name it's rather more straightforward. So, with DD3 we could go back to our original plan of name we like, followed by family name. So, Georgia Caroline. Fits with the other two and our surname. Done and dusted. Oh well...

Having said that though, if there's no DH consultation at all on a fantasy baby's name, I could have children with really interessting names - you know the sort that you'd never have the guts to use in RL....

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/05/2009 10:24

sazzles I am soooo pleased it has arrived. I have had that whole heart pounding thing going on.praying that it would get there.

By time I got home at 8.30pm he went straight to bed. (rough few nights though so very tired)
buckets I agree go to docs and tell them, one of my doctors has a way of making me feel very small.
pmsl reading about all the unsafe stairs.
I am struggling to remember who posted what.
Dh has been to post office and back in the time it has just took me to catch up.

dizzydixies · 02/05/2009 10:25

So sorry to hear M is unwell No1. Is DD's bedtime routine still going well?

Ooh love those dizzy. My fantasy boy's names are:

Kit (ILs intended that DH would be called this but inevitably didn't, which is why I wouldn't)
Rufus
Jasper
Sholto

Can't think of as many girls one at the mo as I think I've thought about girls' names so much that I no longer have them compartmentalised in the same way . Will get thinking though.

poppysocks · 02/05/2009 10:37

LOL at Igor Sazzles indeed. My DH just says no to everything, so no amusing suggestions. His objections were often very funny, but also highly offensive, so not to be repeated!

That bit about Kit made no sense. What I meant was that ILs intended that that would be the nn they'd take from DH's full name. They still can't call him what most people do.

Miamla · 02/05/2009 12:07

DS has discovered this morning that if there's food on his highchair tray and he hits the tray really hard, that the food jumps up. Cue food flying all over the place...oh joy! very sweet to watch though

Steaknife · 02/05/2009 12:37

Girls names....

Eleanor Rose
Edith May
Emily
Pia
Lillian or Lileth
Niamh or Neave (however you want to spell it)
Sybil

Boys names

Tobias
Tobyn
Albert
Rudy (from Rudolph Nureyev)
Freddy (fron Fred Astaire)
Sydney (from my grandpa)

As for us Izzy slept through from 8 till 6.45 this morning. My lie in was a non-starter given my rock-hard norks waking me up at 6am.

But still worth it for the undisturbed sleep.

rufus was on the list for Dylan poppy and I desperately wanted Sylvie but DH said that was the name of the local town slut popular girl when he was young so he vetoed that too a bit to similar sounding to DD2's name I suppose though

I love Arthur nn Art too

poppysocks · 02/05/2009 13:44

Oh yes dizzy. I love Arthur too and I'd forgotten about Fred steaky. I love Pia as well.

Girls names I'm not sure I'd have the guts for , even if DH budged:

Connie
Winnie
Florence
Flora
Beatrice
Hebe
Hera
Posy
Aurelie/a
Honor
Camilla
W illa

Ok, I'm starting to get really silly so will stop.

Just been out for a lovely lunch en famille, DD2 sleeping it off, DD1 spellbound once more by the magic of Mary Poppins, DH out on his bike and I feel some internet shopping coming on. All before a trip to the legendary Cairnie Farm. I do like a good bank holiday weekend.

dizzydixies · 02/05/2009 14:00

well done you poppy I'm still waiting on the last sodding bloke I need to finish off, he phoned about 2hrs ago saying he was running a bit late but would be here in half an hour so my mermaid (DD1) and my pirate (DD2) are plankedinfrontof spellbound by Sleeping Beauty and Dylan is napping - am off to continue to wade through the upstairs before he gets here

and DD1 was very nearly Arywn nn Winnie - it was between that and her name now but we wondered if everything would think we'd jumped on a LOTR bandwagon and there would be loads of Arywns - haven't heard a single one

Beatrix is the name of a friend's dd2. They call her Bex. She had dd3 last October and named her Ruby. I really like the name Ruby.

Boy Names: Owen, Luke, Jake, Todd
Girl Names: Emory Kate, Viviann Alexandra, Beatrix Georganna, Tallulah Jane

Just whimsy the above but they'd all be on my list.

I'm recovering (hopefully) from an allergy attack on bad. My throat is still very very sore. DH is managing the girls. I finally got out of bed. Can't MN on my cell phone....why is that? You'd think they'd fix MN so we could. Maybe I should complain to headquarters.

TwilightSurfer · 02/05/2009 14:48

"attack GONE bad" not "on bad". My brain is obviously not awake yet.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/05/2009 14:50

I have my lap top back now after dh pinghed in to set up the Ricky Hatton fight tonight. I think I will go to bed and get dh to wake me when it starts.

REESE JUST STOOD UP ALL BY HERSELF! Afterwhich she stood there, holding nothing, looking around. You could tell she was thinking, "okay what next?"

oopsacoconut · 02/05/2009 16:02

Lawn is laid and they sent us 10 rolls too many so DH is being punished for this mornings errors buy having to lift a small patch of grass from the front of the house to use up the remaining rolls. Revenge is sweet.

Wow TS - that's amazing.

As for names -for girls we had:
Martha
Lillian
Elizabeth
Aurelia

For Boys we had
Robert(Bob)
Noah
James
Edward

The only ones we wouldn't use next time are Noah - it was always going to be DD's name and Edward, 3 friends have had an Edward in the last year. Bob is my fav. boys one and Aurelia/Elizabeth for a girl.

oopsacoconut · 02/05/2009 16:03

TS - can I bribe youy to send me a few Butterfinger candy bars?? DH was very very silly and only bought one and is now feeling very sad 'cause I ate it in a revenge attack!

TwilightSurfer · 02/05/2009 17:06

Oops I'd be happy to send you a butterfinger care package. Message me on FB.

TwilightSurfer · 02/05/2009 17:07
