Awesome You must let us know once it's up and running, we can arrange an August Mums' coach trip and come to sample your white chocolate cheesecake.

Speaking of cakes, the friend whose hen do I went to last month is getting married in a few weeks' time and instead of having a trad wedding cake they've asked friends to make and ice batches of cupcakes and bring them along. How cool is that? I've promised to make your hummingbird cupcakes as they're so yummy and easy; any icing thoughts?

Hi everyone.
tmi alert
My period is here today [grrr] however I do feel a lot better. brighter etc...(I now know why I have been grumpy, tearful, snappish)
Been out shopping with dh and as I felt very odd (heavy) I put on 2 pairs of pants today and 2 pads. felt really gross and I leaked through everything even my jeans so I decided to buy a mooncup.
Just reading instructions. Dh is gagging and doesnt want me to tell him anymore lol.

Bought dd one of those toilet insert seats today (Kandoo) Hate the adverts but if it helps....

sazzles hope you have no more toads knocking at your door today.
dizzy I would be up for that visit to see you and taste your yummy cakes too

cyteen have you though anymore about what kind of sling you may get??

I am loving the talk of all these rolls and knee over hang on our babies ,aawwww bless em.

We have just been a got a new camera to replace the one I lost on holiday. Dh going on how the holiday he paid for for me just cost twice as much as the insurance will obviously only pay for like for like camera and we have to stand £50, so we ended up just buying one. I am saving up for a digital slr though.

I am now thinking about holiday wondering where to go in september, not too long a flight, good for dcs and possibly all inclusive.

dizzydixies · 15/04/2009 14:23

cyteen cream cheesecake with chopped pecan nuts and cinnamon dusted on them - divine

No1 can highly recommend Wicklow

LoveBuckets · 15/04/2009 15:00

No1and Sazzles don't worry about 'I hate you' - it usually happens during such a row that you're trying not to say it first! Water off a duck's back soon enough, and we meanly kept repeating DD's recent "you're ruining my days" because it was so funny.

Cyteen Lashings of yellow icing on hummingbird cupcakes I think would be nice, either pale and pretty or a bold, sunny egg yolky colour, depending on bridesmaids dresses. God I wish I had some pineapple in, I really fancy some now.

Re slings I have a gorgeous mei tai I've only used once, should be easier for back carries than a wrap. The Moby is too stretchy really for a baby as big as Kurt I think, a woven wrap would stay in place better. My ringsling is still much used between car/house and gets so many compliments - TS might suit your needs as it holds toddlers on your hip and lets your hands free. Here, I have the lesbian rainbow one.

Went for coffee at my new (well, of 5months really) neighbour's house, she's quite shy so I chatted at her and hope I haven't scared her off. They had the Key stage 2 version of DS's circuit board set so he was v impressed! He has spent all afternoon making siren and machine gun noises with his, I'm waiting for the batteries to run out.

Kurt fell off sofa and got bruised eye and forehead last night, then fell off my bed this morning and has matching bruise on other side now. Time to break open the playpen...

LoveBuckets · 15/04/2009 15:03

Cream cheese icing is yum, but maybe basic glace is less fragile and easier to transport? Might not be at all true, might be imagining that.

cyteen · 15/04/2009 15:03

no1 let me know what you come up with re. holiday destinations. we are in desperate need of one here but never seem to get round to it

haven't dared look into slings yet although i did list my wilkinet on ebay this morning.

i too love the chubster babies. DS has knuckle dimples and his wrists look like they have elastic bands round them he is currently zedding on my lap, allowing me to bathe in the cuteness of him

just been on my previous baby boards for a quick nosy - loads of them seem to be pregnant again! i feel strangely envious

dizzydixies · 15/04/2009 15:07

cyteen buckets has a point but if you're going to the wedding you could make the cupcakes and take the buttericing in a tub and apply there, it really us the best compliment to the cupcakes (having tried most of them )

when I did them for a tower of cupcakes I used gold foil cupcakes to pretty them right up - were lovely

longwayfromhome · 15/04/2009 15:29

steaknife - I had to laugh at your DH's question "have you fed her?" because DS will wake up in the night, I'll feed him for a bit and then put him down, if it's not too near morning, he'll usually go back to sleep, but wake up again quite soon if I didn't really feed him enough.

Me - putting DS back down - oh how long was that?
DH - you have been feeding him for 30 seconds
Me - oops

But Dh gets lots of good H points today for getting up at 5, changing two nappies and looking after a stroppy wife and an awake son until 6 when we all went back to sleep.

oopsacoconut · 15/04/2009 16:00

Afternoon All

DD did me proud at the HV and has put on 11oz in 2 weeks so I totally put her off her 'BLW not enough calories, have you added formula top-ups' so we have finally doubled her birth weight and broken 15lbs The second HV we saw (first one had to pop off somewhere else mid weigh??) told me to ignore first HV as she didn't approve of long term BF .

Small girl currently napping on our bed, me eating donuts

Will catch up and be back later.

LoveBuckets · 15/04/2009 17:49

No1 Have you looked at Mark Warner holidays? Haven't tried them myself (out of price range and I refuse to get on a plane with more than one child under 5.) There's also these in the Cornwall.

oopsacoconut · 15/04/2009 17:56

Buckets for Fowey and Moonfleet for 7 days we needed a second Mortgage!! Decided to settle for a normal hotel with an indoor pool and great kids facilities.

LoveBuckets · 15/04/2009 18:02

Blimey, and that's termtime and one bed!
Caravan in Tenby it is for us then :-)

AnnVan · 15/04/2009 18:37

no1 I have also bought a mooncup. Haven't tried it yet, but managed to freak sil out by telling her about them

DD sleeping Dh fed and wine'd. Now I'm going to catch up!

TwilightSurfer · 15/04/2009 21:01

reese is officially sick. sinus stuff. her cute little voice is all squeaky. the is getting most of the gunk from her nose. in the last two hours she's had 4oz of formula, 2oz of orange juice from my cup and a small bit of chicken soup that she happily took by spoon. now she's in my moby so i can walk her around...hopefully lulling her to sleep.

standing and typing is difficult.

buckets i like you sling. that's color i would choose too.

i'll chime in with sazzles on the heavy periods following this birth. doc is checking my hormone levels in two weeks so hopefully it won't last too much longer.

cyteen i'm staying clear of the old preggers boards because i am hormonally baby wanting at the moment (and ovulating). just trying to wait out the crazy storm.

dd1 wants the the rest of reese's soup. brb

Sorry to hear Reese is ill TS. How's O today CC?

Great news on the weigh-in oops. I'm rather looking forward to getting E weighed next week as I feel super confident that she's finally catching up. Even a few big dimples appearing, although not yet any knee overhang yet .

Yes I too have had horribly heavy periods since DD2. I have a feeling that the first half dozen or so after DD1 were pretty horrific too. Have always put that down to the coil though.

Lovely day here waving off the last of the relatives and catching up with friend whose birthday party I missed in the midst of the christening madness. Came home to a bag of very generous christening goodies from the lovely dizzy, which topped the day off nicely. You are truly a superstar and not just a FBG.

LoveBuckets · 15/04/2009 21:18

I've had a Mooncup for years! They're great for heavy periods actually, hold more than a tampon and are way more hygienic as they don't leave fibres behind. Used to stick mine in the steriliser with the bottles but now I bung it in the dishwasher or zap it 5mins in water in the microwave.

TS That sling gets so much attention, actually looks quite glam, people think it's a pashmina at first, then notice the baby in it!

TwilightSurfer · 15/04/2009 21:19

-the plunger is getting the gunk from her nose

-i like your sling

pardon my typing please

reese is now fast asleep in the moby and i finally have two good hands again. she tries to take my glasses off now so one had is usually fending her off when she's awake.

i had a lot more to say but my mind is all mush. i need sleep more than life right now. might try to slip onto the sofa and snooze while reese sleeps on me and dd1 watches a dvd at my feet.

lol TS Joe is really into my specs at the moment too It's hard to deny him though because he is just so damn cute. I have been extra specially in love with him today (as if it wasn't obvious).

Sibh · 15/04/2009 21:35

Evening all.
We've had some terrible nights here with DD2 waking every hour or so again. But she just isn't comfortable at the moment. No sign of teeth at all, but i'm guessing that that is the issue.

I didn't give my update.
She has very little hair and what's there is blonde. DH says I should not bounce around in front of her singing 'You look like a potato' but in a pretty kind of way she does. She can crawl, and finally made it from one room to another yesterday. She can wave and clap but seems to have abandoned clapping to concentrate on crawling.

She is fond of making random sounds. 'Lu', 'lu' was today's contribution and when she's sad she cries 'momomomomom' which is heart-rending. She loves games and is far more into playing with rattles and toys than the others were. She has this unbelievably ravishingly slow smile that makes people melt.

Chief among her claims to love at the moment is that she doesn't answer back. I asked DD1 who is not yet three why she and DS don't answer me at the moment and she answered 'because we just don't care.' I think this might be a well-meaning rehash of my lectures but still.

Sazzles, when DS told me he didn't love me I told him I still loved him back which had he double virtue of being the right thing to do and pissing him off. DD1 who has more guile picks her moments to tell me that she likes daddy best and won't be dissuaded.

I had to laugh at her glancing at the paper the other day and saying 'Ooh, Backak Obama. can I have a snack?' Too clever for her own good.

I have lost DH to Man. U. tonight. He was so kind last night, sitting up with me and being encouraging while DD2 wailed. His one suggestion to try controlled crying was not the high point though.

My youngest Dsis is 30 this weekend and broke a bone in her ankle this weekend, less than 12 hours after telling me she never had any problems in high heels. I have gone for sympathy rather than . The poor pup.

Sibh · 15/04/2009 21:37

So little of that makes sense

TwilightSurfer · 15/04/2009 22:41

Sibh I understood it all.

No nap...well no nap for me. I spent the time trying to find info on a summer camp for dd1. Then I tried to find one of her classmates mom's number so I could call to see if the classmate was going too. The was fruitless. Where the heck am I hiding all my important papers these days.

I think I'm going to try a new workout class at my local Y. It's called ZUMBA. Feel free to google it..there's loads of youtube videos of it. The class is Sundays at 2. That might work for me.

Where is VG?

Dizzy how can you manage wild shifts, three children, a house, and extra type cool things like the coffee house planning?? I'm failing on two kid and house front right now.

Speaking of which PLEASE somebody tell me how the heck to make the washed clothing wind up in a place other than my bedroom floor?
