you'd think after 33 threads we'd have all the answers by now.

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurgh I am so tired and it's all my fault. Spent whole night either throwing up beer or lying in bed waiting to throw up. Flippin NCT is such a bad influence!

Miamla Yes I would have been fuming too. Can see his point though, tis a matter of life or death isn't it, packing a parachute correctly?

Right, Ready Steady Cook time please, what can I do with 6 green peppers, some spring onions and some purple sprouting broccoli? Got another Riverford box arriving tomorrow and desperately need to finish last week's one. Also 3 kiwi fruits.

Miamla · 23/04/2009 09:14

i should probably have thought through what i wanted to say before posting but hey ho, 10 short posts are just as good as one long one

i'm having an adventure today, DS and I are popping up to B'ham to visit a friend and her 1yr old DS, we're staying overnight and then tomorrow another friend and her little DD are popping over to visit us all. I'm quite looking forward to it
Just realised this morning though, i've got a pressie for the DD but not for host's DS Looks like i've got to pop to local shops this morning to try and find him something..oops!

Who's up that way? what's the weather like please?

Miamla · 23/04/2009 09:15

no1 i'm sure we can design something summery with red and black...leave it with me!

sambo303 · 23/04/2009 09:24

buckets you poor thing, sounds most unpleasant. I'm afraid the only thing I do with peppers is stick them on pizzas or you could try this stuffed pepper recipe here. Stir fry the psb/spring onions on the side with garlic and ginger. Would children eat that???

My ds loves kiwi fruit - I peel it and cut in 1/4s lengthways and he eats the lot

miamla sounds like a lovely few days for you. I just love travelling with my new little pal.

expectant I second that invitation to a meet up - we are due the spring meet up anyway

Miamla · 23/04/2009 09:28

buckets i know i agree re life or death but i thought DS happily playing and giggling would be ok. hey ho, he's apologised for getting stressed at me so tis all good.
i'm impressed with your perceived drinking stamina! what beer were you drinking?

Morning all. I think DD has swallowed a mouse as she is a very squealy little thing this mornging.

A better night sleepwise for her, 8.15 till 4.30 then 5.15 till 6.15 and I squeezed another hour out of her 6.30 till 7.30

At 5 am I got a chorus of "you've only been with her 30 mins and that was breastfeeding", followed by the verse of "I have to work in the morning", with the last verse key change and big finish of "you're taking me for an idiot, aha aha"

I did resist the comeback chant of "maternal sleeplessness and lack of support contribute to PND. Oh yes they do, woohoo woohoo"

We are going down the fill-them-up-before-bedtime route. DH wants to use the stuff you add to purees to bulk it up and wants to give a 3 course meal. He really did say aomething like "I want her to have a proper meal, some meat, some fruit and some cheese" So blummin French.
I misunderstood what he wanted so went out and got some weetabix. Cue much complaining from him even though it seems to be doing the trick.
Does anyone else's DHs make prounouncements on "how we will do things" forgetting that it will actually be you doing it not them.

Still on the BM calorie discussion - think it is a blummin red herring though.

Izzy is 7.7kg, birth weight was 3.3kg.

VG I don't know whether to laugh at you or cry along with you I am wetter than a haddock's overcoat at the best of times and definitely on a hormone high at the moment. I saw a newborn baby squalling for food in town yesterday and got swept up in iwantanotherbaby madness.

Although this morning's experiment in self-settling seems to have put that back in its box for now Still, DS being ubercute on the bed as I type this, wiggling about on his tummy and singing to himself. I have just pulled the king bogey out of his nose Quite revolting.

Miamla have fun in Brum. The sun is beating down on Leicester so hopefully you'll get it too

Buckets egg fried rice with added veg is my standby for using up any odds and ends in the fridge.

Morning dizzy hope your tribe is behaving itself!

I think my DP is just glad to have someone else make the decisions, tbh Just last night he was singing the praises of BLW, having enjoyed a most convivial lunch with DS while I was at work.

Steaknife · 23/04/2009 10:41

VG oh he does it in a very regal fasion.

"Now Steaky, what I want to happen is this...."

This morning I got, "you should get her up its 7am, that way her schedule wont be all out"

Given that yesterday he didn't think I had a schedule and we are trying to get her to sleep more then I just lay in bed and pretended he wasn't being an arse not to hear.

Mostly I just act interested the first time and go on my merry way until he forgets his mad idea or realises that I might actually be right about something. Hey ho.

All that talk of curry is making me hungry but tis a little early for curry here. We have quiche for lunch, meeting the mansteak to eat it in the park as very sunny here.

Steaknife · 23/04/2009 10:42

Right best get on or we will never leave.

Miamla · 23/04/2009 11:08

sambo303 · 23/04/2009 11:29

morning - in the rush of final packing and trying to find things DH has decreed he can't live without on holiday the very same things he didn't need yesterday.

VG that is the strangest T shirt I have seen in ages - it makes no sense!

Miamla - I still need to get youy that piccie - my camera is flat so can't retrieve it until I fcind the charger.

I asked DH to get up with DD at 7.30 as I needed to shower, find bags, get her outfit and he said ' I am soo tired just let me wqake up slowly'???? WTF - he also thought DD had slept through as he didn't hear her

HI Everyone else. in a rush will try and catch up a bit later.
