Oooo and then round mine please No1! Now that would be a real challenge for him...

Excitement: today DD weighs 7kg, which is

  • twice her birth weight
  • 300g more than this time last week
  • over the 2nd centile
Woohoo!
StGeorgeisacoconut · 22/04/2009 22:13

Can I book MrNo1? our house is a tip and DH is going mad nagging me to get it tidy before we go but his random variation of tidy - if the cooker has been dettox'd the kitchen is clean ignoring the unwashed floor dirty dishes and food on the counters.

Sazzles - we nearly did an impromtu (sp?) trip to the Zoo today my Dsis had a school biology trip there and we wanted to sneak and see her but things got in the way!

going back to check on any other news....

StGeorgeisacoconut · 22/04/2009 22:15

YAY for M, Pertelote, I got all excited when last week DD finally made it over double her birth weight. She seems to really be growing fast since the op - the miracles of medical science.

StGeorgeisacoconut · 22/04/2009 22:17

My DH is another pool shy man - why I don't know? good bod, not a bad swimmer, DD would love it.

Sazzles - I can't do Friday - I'll be lugging dd strolling down 5th Avenue looking lovingly at all the size0 clothes.

Dad is okay nil by mouth, bored and whineing like a 2 year old that he is hungry - so much better than the pale semi concious man he was last night. Needs to see surgeons in the morning for a plan of action.

StGeorgeisacoconut · 22/04/2009 22:24

We only know what DD weighs because we were on 'report' for not putting on enough weight. we were supposed to go today but ignored the reminder got caught up.

Pertelote- that is wonderful.
Good to hear that DD1's dermatologist is helpful too Sazzles.

The daay went a bit wonky here when I took DS to Cork to get his glasses fitted, realised three minutes after leaving the shop that he'd left his old ones in there and then found it had shut. I seriously considered using DS as battering ram to open the place up.

Then we went in to Tesco - a big adventure for us these days, and my credit card was broken when I got to the till. I had given my DH my laser/switch card just before I left so knew I was scuppered and had to hand back 130 yoyos of food. Embarassing doesn't really cover it.

It sounds mildly funny now but I was wailing on the way home. DS sat up with me to watch a dvd of footage my aunt shot of family parties in the 90s though which meant he got a proper look at my grandad. If you look at DS and a school photo of my grandad when he was seven you can spot straight away that they are related so it was v. moving.

DH is out putting on his award-winning plays for the whole school so I've opened a bottle of wine and I'm eating the sour chickpea curry that the Mad Hoor has in her Indian Cooking book. DD2 thought it was fab. Mad hoor was a nickname conferred by a friend of mine who is a theologian so I can convince myself it isn't too mean

No1 so glad the pre-school is lovely. You were asking how I was feeling and I'm fine. I have a sneaking suspicion the migraine cluster was caused by woodstaining stuff. I haven't a date for the cat-scan but I'm confident the neurologist was right so it's good to have peace of mind again.

Cyteen - at mammoth curry.

pertelote · 22/04/2009 22:30

Yes we have been a bit obsessed with her weight but this week's gain is incredible. I also noticed that they'd miscalculated her age in weeks a couple of months ago and never put it right - so all of the last six or so weights have been plotted too far along the chart. Given today's weight it doesn't matter but if anyone else is being nagged by HVs it is worth checking!

Bedtime. Good sleep to you all and another lovely sunny day tomorrow.

Sibh how freaky, that chickpea curry is the one I made tonight! Mammoth-free and delicious as always. It's been a staple dish chez cyteen since my student days Not sure I needed to eat quite so much of it though

pertelote what fantastic news about your little M. She really is shooting onwards and upwards isn't she? I'm so pleased

Slightly embarrassed to admit that Joe is not far off tripling his birth weight

Sibh · 22/04/2009 23:31

Can I have a brief 1970s child moment ...
Spooky!

As DS says, the only thing wrong with that curry is that the pan its cooked in is never big enough.

hotterpotter · 23/04/2009 07:07

Morning all

Sorry been AWOL, but I now have a bit of a tan and a new lawn Got some more tidying up to do today but then I think the garden will look lovely

Glad to hear your dainty girls are thriving Oops and Pertelote . DS not quite in your league Cyteen but still a massive chubster. Took him out in the moby yesterday and we were gone longer than I anticipated. Got back after 3 hours and thought my shoulders/back would never recover . They have, obviously, but I need a new way to carry him. Miamla did you manage the back-carry photos?

Hey Dizzy Did you get the doors in OK? I bet they look lovely. Am very of the foldingness of them, we have had to make do with yucky uPVC for now, but am having a whole wall of the folding ones in my forever house

Miamla · 23/04/2009 08:56

morning all
i was requested to leave the living room last night
DP packs reserve parachutes for a bit of extra money. last week he did one, DS was really upset, wanted to help daddy etc so i took him for a walk to calm him down. last night DS really happy, we were playing, he was giggling but DP got stressed and snapped. Said he couldn't concentrate with the noise Anyhow, he then banished us from the living room so he could concentrate. He came up about an hour later and apologised for the way he behaved so all is happy again here but i was fuming last night!

sibh keep forgetting to say.. Bantry Bay is gorgeous! i spent a lovely holiday there!

hotpot argh, no, sorry, no back photos yet but i'm seeing a friend today so i'll get them snapped and email them when i get back tomorrow.

hmm can't remember what else i was going to reply to... off to re-read!

Miamla · 23/04/2009 08:59

Miamla · 23/04/2009 09:03

Miamla · 23/04/2009 09:09

has anyone else given birth to a vampire with piranha teeth? DS keeps biting my neck, arm, shoulder, legs, tummy... basically if he sees bare flesh, he bites it but only mine. DP seems to be perfectly safe

sambo sorry to hear you're both poorly. I prescribe pyjamas and cuddles for both of you
