gosh we're on 900 posts!

PatTheHammer · 08/05/2009 08:52

OH EPPM I love your name! Tried lots of kids books when I registered but they were all taken

Yes HKZ, Pat the Hammer is the dumbest tool in Handy Manny's toolbox and also DD's favourite! Check out playhouse Disney if you have not met Handy Manny yet, he rules our lives!!!! Deffo think you should use the full version

Waves to Stripey and chef

Have a fab time at Alton Towers tree.

Off to pre-school now... bye!

elkiedee · 08/05/2009 09:07

My stepsister is a teacher and had ds1 in March, is now due with dc2 in June - must be very frustrating.

I wanted a pseudonym for something years ago, before I'd used the internet or anything like that, and thought my initials sounded a bit like a sort of name (I wasn't trying to choose a real name as it were). I've used it for various purposes ever since. There are lots that are great but one of my favourites is StealthPolarBear off my first antenatal thread, it came out of a mumsnet conversation which I can't quite remember but it has a great ring to it, and the poster behind the name always sounds like a lovely woman too (I've met a few of them in person soon after our babies were born but sadly not Stealth).

EachPeachPearMum · 08/05/2009 09:41

fym I love Tiddler... unfortunately dd is stuck on a Postman Pat book atm all the donaldson/scheffler books are fab tbh- I love charlie cook and gruffalo most

So many teachers on this thread! (I am not, but work for LEA)

Pat thanks! I dno't know what pat the hammer is though... sorry... don;t watch television, suppose I could google.

Jabs for ds today... second lot.

Hmm re names, I am often of how witty some posters are with their names (well, and their posts tbh)

sparkleandshine · 08/05/2009 10:15

jury out...

eppm - room on the broom is another fave

DS1 had his mmr booster and other pre school booster yesterday, very brave two injections didn't even flinch!

PatTheHammer · 08/05/2009 10:18

Elkie- I did wonder about yours, always reminds me of Kiki Dee for some reason!! .

FYM- Zach has several chins on the go! Cute but takes ages to get in all those folds at bathtime.

EPPM- Know what you mean, there are some truly funny people out there. That's the main reason why I lurk so much and post so little, not 'quickfire' enough for many threads!

EachPeachPearMum · 08/05/2009 10:20

Oh- chef and tink yay fro first teeth! Such grown up babies!

hkz · 08/05/2009 10:20

I love the gruffalo too...have recently stocked up on Donaldson books. have been reading 'We're going on a bear hunt.." non stop recently too..think I know it off by heart.

Miserable weather here.... off for some swimming action I think...hope DS likes it, he hasn't been before. DD, after hating it and crying everytime we went since january...has all of a suddent turned into a little fish and is crazy about going to the pool!

EPPM- Hope the jabs aren't too traumatic.

Right, I'm gonna name change!

PatTheHammer · 08/05/2009 10:35

Another Donaldson Fan here, DD started getting less picky recently which is great, means I get to choose the bedtime books! She does recite 'going on a bear hunt' whenever DH puts her on his shoulders, quite embarrassing!

Good luck with all jabs.

HKZ- hope DS enjoys his first swim. Zach went for the 3rd time on sunday and afetr loving it twice he cried the whole time! Loved the swing at the playground yesterday though!

FYM- Like the name, are you a cleaning fanatic?

tinkishappy · 08/05/2009 11:12

at babies sleeping through the night! jude is still waking up twice...and is ready to get up by 6a.m.

he was weighed last week, think he is 14/15 weeks now and is 14lb 2 oz and still cruising along the 50th centile...he's incredibly long though and bursting out of all DD's hand me downs.

Have been swimming and DS loved it, thought the toddler pool was freezing so we didn't sstay in for long.

Book- can sympathise with the tantrums, DD just had one because I put her sock on wonky...(she's wierdly particular about socks, they really upset her ....she also gets upset if I habg things like coats or bags on the back of chairs...hmm

Found a home for the kittens so am feeling relieved...they are off to an old man who's 17 y.o. cat just died, so expect they will be spoilt rotton.

sparkleandshine · 08/05/2009 13:57

pat no my house is a bit of a state at the moment - I'm a diamond dealer (seriously!) Started my own business 3 years ago after DS1, as a part time 'hobby' job (yeh right ) now have employees, offices, a fully fledged business and now DH has joined us!

Spink · 08/05/2009 14:27

ok, I am giving up with trying to catch up.. have managed to read and start posting about 5 times in the last few days, only to get dragged off the computer by dh, dd, ds or dcat and get back so much later it is too late to post..
So I've just read the last few pages and am typing as quickly as I possibly can..
dog ooh you should get a prize for the first pg alert!! Reading about it made me broody, which, frankly, is terrifying - sounds like the BFN wasn't too disappointing though. My dh and his sister are 10 months apart in age, and his mother lost all her teeth apparently because her body hadn't recovered properly. or because of the shock, who knows

ray just have to say at the sleep. My two are both waking at 4.30 at the moment and then not wanting to go back to bed. it is a total killer.

missj I know you asked AGES ago, about sleep training? If you're still interested I can tell you what we used?

ah, what a shocker, dd is up and gurning at me for a feed. she gurns before she yells, took me a while to cotton on..

stripeywoollenhat · 08/05/2009 14:33

fym/sparkleandshine - diamonddealer would actually be quite a cool name, i think... pat, i think patthehammer is pretty good too, but don't get any of the references to tiny kids books/tv. i'm sure c will fix this in due course...

so i'm concluding that i have not been feeding c enough for the past few days - she doesn't ask very obviously, making the feeding on demand a bit tricky... will be shoving a boob in the poor little girl's face at every opportunity from now on, to see if this is in fact the case. as far as i can make out she is somewhere between the 50th and 25th centiles, but i guess i am no giant and neither is her dad. i was 17lbs at a year, apparently - i imagine she'll be heavier than that, anyway...

OP posts:
stripeywoollenhat · 08/05/2009 14:36

also [green] at the night sleepers. c not too bad but i think it'll be july before there's any sleeping through here...

Poor you Dog! Gosh make sure you haven't done yoursef a mischief!

Trying to pack for big drive and day tomorrow. Too tired though!

Have read but can hardly remember anything once I change page, so I'll slope off and try not to pack dd1 16 outfits for 36 hours away!

Apologies for pants post, and love to Moose.

PatTheHammer · 08/05/2009 19:38

Right, been adding some peeps on FB to put faces to names so if you recieve a strange request don't worry, tis only me! Was a bit confused as to who was who on the FB page though so may have left some out, sorry in advance!

Will try to post some photos of the happy fatness tonight as DH has buggered off to skittles so have unlimited access to PC. If only so Tree can see the thunder-thighs in all their glory!

Sparkle- Sounds great to have started a flourishing business, well done you!

Books- DD also had a 'wee' accident at playschool this morning, how weird! She has been dry for almost year so was a bit unprepared and she came out wearing some of the 'spare' clothing, very tasteful!

Dog- I know what you mean, when I see a familiar name posting I always smile and sometimes feel like jumping on the thread to say hi (frowned upon I do believe!) but like I said I am a major lurker and rarely post outside of my comfort zones

Where is moose? Is she ok?

Both kids in bed by 7, so going to grab a quick glass of rose and then get down to some serious photo uploading xx

P.S Tink Do you have a slight addiction going on with Vertbaudet? i love their clothes too!

missjackson · 08/05/2009 19:49

Have just skim read and must get back to packing (very slow work when you have baby to feed/ change/ try to get to sleep!).

Spink would love to hear your sleep training technique. PLEASE.

Hard to keep up with all the name changes! But all very good.

Tree How sweet of your Mum; she sounds lovely. Like mine . Yey for Mums! Hope you have a fantastic time. Tropical water place sounds particularly fab!

Pat I have a chunky monkey too - gorgeous and yummy.

More later if I can... pizzas nearly ready so got to run x

EachPeachPearMum · 08/05/2009 20:50

dog dunno what you have been reading of mine... I never feel very witty

ds was good for his jabs, but has been v unsettled since around 4... just sitting next to his cot with my laptop, popping his dummy back in periodically...

fym/sparkle am smiling at the thought of diamonds all over your house...

treedelivery · 08/05/2009 20:51

Still about. Seem to be reading a debate on sure start centres now! How do I get myself into these things?

Will try remember how to facebook such an uncool mum, I can't get ny head around this new fangled technology at all.
