Just a quick ne n between ER episodes...love the Archers, have only got into it since DS was born, but remember my Mum always listening to it.

Dog- Are you relieved at the negative?

Went into work today and all good, actually enjoyed it! Don't have to go back for real til July and then it's only two weeks til the summer hols.

Lenni- Good luck witht he career investigations, think social work would be a really interesting line of work, have often thught about it myself as work with social workers quite often.

Ohhhh...George Clooney has just appeared....

treedelivery · 07/05/2009 22:15

Hatts now 25th and tailing off, hv said same thing to me Lenni about the bfers tailing off. Week til the paed appt - am nervous. Shhe's about 13lb at 15 weeks

Got some travel sickness medicine for dd1 today, she is getting nauseous after 4 miles. This matters when nearest city is 45!! over counter stuff no use so got a prescrption - I know the drug and I don't reckon much to it but we'll see.

Wedding anniversary [2nd] on Tue, so mum is sending us to Alton Towers water park and hotel for the night. dd1 was ill for last jaunt so hoping for a better time for her! I just love tge all you can eat gaff! I might 'do' dairy so I can bring a noxious green poo sample to appt on Thursday.

Can't think of a name fym....sorry!

Would love a squeeze of those thighs Pat!

PatTheHammer · 07/05/2009 22:16

Fym Does your DS look chunky though? I'm always getting comments on how huge Zach is, maybe some babies 'carry it' better .

hkz I am also going back for 2 weeks before the summer hols, must be a trick teachers pull regularly to account for the crappy maternity pay! Hating the thought of it though, also got to wean Zach onto mixed feeding beforehand as I cannot express for toffee .

treedelivery · 07/05/2009 22:19

Pat have you got a swing pump by medela. Bloody briliant!

LenniEd · 07/05/2009 22:19

Glad work was ok hkz - I came across social workers quite a lot too which is what put me on to it. I taught for 4 years and then was SENCO briefly until pregnant with DD. Not sure if it is too intense though, and would need to retrain. Am looking into Local Authority jobs related to SEN too since would be nice to use my SEN/Inclusion Masters degree finally but not really sure what I was to do.

No teeth here yet but DS dribbling copiously. Ick. (Actually I think it's quite cute, but it's ick when I have to feed him!)

FYM - My name is a combination of the names of my two dogs - loads of people seem to go for names of pets/books/characters/films etc they like.... do you fancy something like that?

PatTheHammer · 07/05/2009 22:21

Yep got that, still can't get a letdown so only express foremilk, even with Zach on the other side!!

Will post some pictures of the gargantuan thighs on FB soon

hkz · 07/05/2009 22:21

Pat- Yep! i want that summer holiday pay! Hoping it willjust be a breeze as most of my kids will be out on exam leave! Have just started mixed feeding...boobs in agony, right pita.

I want a better mumsnet name..HKZ is just one i thought up in a rush when I joined and never bothered to change it (was living in Hong Kong at the time and my name is Zoe...very unimaginative!)

LenniEd · 07/05/2009 22:24

Pat/Hkz - I know lots of teachers who went for Dec/Jan babies to make their 6 months off end just in time for summer hols. When I first mentioned that we wanted children a colleague got her diary out and told me the best time to conceive she had it all planned out. Was a little more than I expected from my vague remark that we wanted kids sometime ... there was a raised eyebrow when I told her I was pregnant 4 months later... due end of December!!

hkz · 07/05/2009 22:25

Lenni, would love to do masters in SEN/Inclusion. Am head of intervention at my school, the SENCO is my boss, but really would like to work in a broader spectrum either with local authority or for an NGO like Princes trust. Love my job but frustrated being stuck in school.

treedelivery · 07/05/2009 22:25

HongKongZoe is a class name - reminds me of Hong Kong Phoey [sp].

Tried warm flannels and cabbage leaves Pat.

Cabbage leaves for you too HKZ - they really take the hot 'on edge' feling away. Bliss I found them.

PatTheHammer · 07/05/2009 22:25

I am so of all of those Mnetters with clever names, I'm sure some of them must have spent hours thinking them up!

I will only be teaching Y7 and 9 in the first week and then its activities week so I'm hoping I can slope of for a crafty feed if my boobs are busting!

LenniEd · 07/05/2009 22:28

Princes Trust is someone I never thought of looking for a job with... hmm, will look into that. Local authority would suit me but I think I'd be lucky to get a post with the way budgets are right now. I loved teaching too. I just found it didn't fit with my homelife as DH busiest during school holidays so we could never take holidays together.

I think you should go with the full HongKongZoe too HKZ - great name.

PatTheHammer · 07/05/2009 22:29

Lenni I did mange better timing with Zach, Evie was born in June which was crap planning on my part, hating being on maternity pay in August when i would have been off anyway!

Hmmm, warm flannels, may try that..

PatTheHammer · 07/05/2009 22:29

ooops, Manage not MANGE!

LenniEd · 07/05/2009 22:34

for you Pat at getting mat pay through summer hols. That really isn't fair.

HKZ - my Masters was best thing I did, really reinvigorated me while teaching and has given me something to keep my brain ticking over while off work.

treedelivery · 07/05/2009 22:34

Lenni - got fluffy post today, yipee! Thank you very much! Got any itti meds available yet ?

Have you still got the wool wrap?

Pat - Cabbage, savoy best. I couldn't believe the difference in my hot swollen tingling boobs.

Where is Moose???

hkz · 07/05/2009 22:35

Lenni- Look into the XL Club programme, run by the Princes trust, am running it in my school and get lots of training from PT, would love to co- ordinate it across a range of schools, think it would be a fab job.

I love cabbage leaves, they are my saving grace...especially the sexy aroma of warm fart that they give off as they heat up

Pat the hammer- is your name to do with the cartoon? I used to advise on the correct English for the chinese/english voice overs for that when I lived in HK... a very tedious job!

LenniEd · 07/05/2009 22:36

Glad you heard that too Tree. And am sure paed will go well and be reassuring.

Have a lovely time at Alton Towers - those acupressure bands always relieved my travel sickness a bit. And happy anniversary.

LenniEd · 07/05/2009 22:46

Yay for post Tree! Ittis are hanging on for dear life, I am not emotionally ready to part with them yet but give me time to grieve (weekend should do!) and you've got first pickings. Still have wool wrap. Am considering using it for DS despite it being veyr girly, but have a parma violet one that he uses most nights so don't really need it.

Off to bed, night all.

treedelivery · 07/05/2009 22:48

We wil. Have a tiny swim nappy for Hatts so looking forward to putting her toes in - then lounging on a recliner breast feeding in the lovely heat! Its all tropical warm in the water park. Fab.

stripeywoollenhat · 07/05/2009 22:51

wow, i'm starting to think c is the smallest baby on this thread. well, not on it, but you know what i mean... i think she's probably just over twelve pounds and will be 16 weeks on sunday.

OP posts:
stripeywoollenhat · 07/05/2009 22:59

and hkz - i think hongkongzoe is a great name. i am stripeywoollenhat because i was wearing one when i registered. yep, it's that meaningful.

OP posts:
EachPeachPearMum · 07/05/2009 23:41

I am EPPM because at the time I registered dd wanted each peach pear plum read about 1000 times a day!

I want something more witty too, really.

Lenni have you thought of working in your local LAC education service? would combine 2 interests then- many, many LAC have SEN (c. 28% with statements!)

chefswife · 08/05/2009 00:54

i went with chefswife because i couldn't come up with anything better. a witty name would be nice.

we went to the movies today! nice 1pm matinee session called Stars and Strollers and we saw "Earth" by Disney. it was good on the big screen because of the scenery and angle shots. DD gazed at the screen but my friend's LO dozed off as soon as the movie started and didn't wake till we left. she is such a sleeper. such a darling.

not sure if i said it yet, but DD cut her first tooth the other day! it's so amazing to see it through. she hasn't been as bad with the crying as i was expecting. i have been giving her gripe water for her belly which is doing wonders so maybe it's been working on the teeth as well. i've been thinking of trying the gripe water as well because i'm living on these awesome cookies from a Neiman Marcus spoof email about this broad and her daughter who unknowingly purchased their fabulous cookie recipe for $250, (not the $2.50 they thought) and so decided to post the recipe on the internet... blahblahblah... its an old spoof that's morphed since the '60's or something... anyhow, i currently have a belly ache from eating 4 of them and they are oh so very good. and it would appear by this crazyness that i may be experiencing a sugar spike. hmm

fymmumoftwo · 08/05/2009 07:06

pat he has a fantastic double chin at the moment and is developing chunky thighs

tree have a nice time at alton towers

stripey don't worry about weight, mine have both been bruisers and girls are lighter in general than boys... I'd on;y start to worry if you were below the centiles....

HKZ definitely change to hongkongzoe

eppm on that front I'd be Tiddler at the moment - I could recite it off by heart!
