PS any one want to help me choose a new name - I'm getting to hate FYM...but am useless at thinking things up....

hkz · 07/05/2009 07:56

Lenni- "When she was good..." is exactly like my dd, we spent the last two day sat my dads and she was so sweet and funny and then the minute we got back to london she had an almighty tantrum for 10 minutes on the pavement outside our house cos she didn't want to wear her shoes and I wouldn't carry her and was a complete pita all evening (in between brief monents of sweetness!)

Going back to work for the day to do some coursework moderation, then start back properly in 8 weeks Am enjoying maternity leave and spending lots of time with dp too much!

Elkie- How is C doing? Did ds1 have a good birthday? DD just turned two, can't believe it..

EPPM- I live for 730 when i can escape to the garden hugging a large glass of red wine. I wish small children came with an off switch and a mute button.

Right, gotta get ready for school...arghhh!

rrrayray · 07/05/2009 08:43

HKZ we too are putting Esme to bed at 7am. Although stupidly not taking advantage of her being in bed early and going to bed earlyish ourselves. Note to self- must start doing so!

No secret with head bands.. Esme just doesn't seem at all fussed by them!

Hope time back at work today goes OK.

We have 2 other couples coming over for lunch today... better run & have a shower!

tinkishappy · 07/05/2009 10:03

treedelivery · 07/05/2009 10:46

orning folk.

Ray - enjoy lunch, sounds lovely. Not even dressed yet here so am impressed!

Hkz at thought of work. Hopefully today will be ok and maybe make it seem less bad.

Yay for Braken tink, slepping and feet finding. Hatts slept 12 till 5am which is a minor miracle.

Woo Hoo!

Lenni - we are all coming up to the big corner turn of in their own room [if you are not co-sleeping, which we are or al least in our room for a year] and weaning etc. It will get easier

Maybe today just let it slide - have a day off. Sling washing in a bin bag and take it to launderette, then head out for a walk and icecream. don't make luch, have a snack. Something like that. I find a good rebellion can be good for the soul!

Or buy a new nappy? I got a turquise {sp????????} from cnt and it's lurvely. Only £7 deleivered!!

Love to Moose.
Apologies to people I haven't mentioned - I have read you and not intentionally ignored! Am speed posting between tasks and jobs - like putting my trousers on!

PatTheHammer · 07/05/2009 16:16

Hi everyone! doing a crap job of keeping up to date aren't I !

What did I miss?

dog have you been trying for another baby?????? Or are you just 'leaving things to take their course'!

Tink Has Bracken got a tooth!!!

Tree sorry to hear you are still not getting much sleep, how are you getting anything done at all is beyond me you seem to be coping marvellously

Lenni How are you? I can sympathise with these feelings. DD is driving me mental at the moment. Ripped off wallpaper when sat on the naughty step on tuesday. Reached my 'low' on tuesday after an appaling night with Zach we did nothing excpet go to tescos because I was too tired to function. In hindsight i should have got out and about more and kept DD busy.

Ray Loved the photos of Esme on FB recently, she is a real cutie! I must get round to putting some more on one day.

Hi to everyone else as well!

Get this, on tuesday night Zach went to sleep after his bath at 6.30pm and did not wake to be fed until 4.30am!!!!! Then went back to sleep until 7.30! Felt like an actual normal person on wednesday. Tried to keep everything exactly the same last night and guess what? He went at 6.30 again and then awoke at 7.45 and fed until 10pm, boo-hiss! Babies are so ruddy unpredictable

missjackson · 07/05/2009 16:19

dog disappointing! But relieved for you too really - it would be such hard work!

Just popping in as I am supposed to be packing. My Dad has turned up to help, and my sister and a friend are coming tomorrow - then we also have one of OH's regular guests helping (who is a real sweetie with additional needs - is that how you say it these days?), and a 'man with a van' from Cardiff - so somehow with this motley crew we should get it all done! And Nye of course!

Lenni totally hear you. Last night it felt like I was literally chained by my nipple to LO's mouth. He wanted to suckle every half an hour, I swear! I woke up feeling desperate.

Will catch up properly later x

PatTheHammer · 07/05/2009 16:26

As a P.s to that noticed that MsSparkle was quoted on the parenting latest emaily thing from MN talking about Paultons Park! I went there last year with DD and loved it too! Really made me want to go again this summer, anyone local to it and fancy a MN day out??
Got lots to fit in before I go back to work for 2 weeks in July

LenniEd · 07/05/2009 16:59

FYM - Not sure on the name - what does your current one mean? I've had the same name for 3 years (how unadventurous!) not even changed for festivities so am really not the right person to help - someone more creative will arrive soon...

Baby up... back soon...

fymmumoftwo · 07/05/2009 17:37

just been for a weigh in - 16lb today

just need to get him sleeping through now!

tinkishappy · 07/05/2009 17:56

hi

pth - yes she has a tooth

she is 16 weeks on mon
zach sounds like he is doing well @ nite bracken slept through from 10pm till 7am last nite

miss j - hope it is going ok

fym - do what i do use fym and then had something after i change mine all the time

tinkishappy · 07/05/2009 17:57

my friend has bought our electric swing from us let her have for £20 going to do food shop in asda tonite and use £20 for dd1s school uniform for sept

missjackson · 07/05/2009 18:33

fym similar to you, my LO weighed in at 16lbs 2 today (14 weeks today)...so he's a chunky little monkey but has dropped off the 91st centile towards the 75th.. obviously he is doing fine but still somehow I felt a bit flat. I think I heard something in the news about the chart being redrawn for BF-ing babies though?

Sorry no brilliant name ideas here either - I like the way tink always changes hers though, but is still tink, iyswim.

waves to Pat Tree great sleeping stint from H! 5 hours straight! Bet you feel like a new woman!

Tink you are getting loads of sleep!

Have just walked up a small mountain with LO facing outwards in his moby wrap in an effort to keep him awake until bedtime! I like to hit 7pm for bedtime so I can listen to the archers as I BF him to sleep!

On that note, better go and do bathtime. OH working late...

missjackson · 07/05/2009 18:34

Oooh forgot to say am excited at prospect of potential meet up en route to Scotland!

EachPeachPearMum · 07/05/2009 20:39

We also put ds to bed around 7... was later, but now with doing the school run, we have to be up earlier, so dd's bedtime has shifted forward too. (she used to go to bed always by 7.30)

fym what does fym mean/stand for?

Yay for MsS making parenting round-up!

MissJ hope all goes well with the move...

hkz I dream of a mute button! 3 year old girls are very shrill even at her quietest she is always waking ds up.

dog good for neg... for now....
re helmet- people were split- half looked at her in sympathy, because they thought it was because of epilepsy of disability, the other half looked in horror... which they tend to do to people with disabilities anyway
Thing is- she was a very beautiful baby (and, yes, I know I'm biased but)- until she had the helmet people used to stop me to stare at her, really- I had so many comments and compliments on what a beautiful baby she was. So I was getting used to people staring anyway lol
You just get used to it- have to be thick skinned... but you've had 2 toddlers- so you must be used to that by now
We are 100% sure we did the right thing though.
DS has actually improved a lot by the way through repositioning- he is a much more amiable baby and lets us move him every which way, so that helps! I am a lot less worried about his head... well this week at least
From your fb photos, you can't see any sticky-outness- but its hard to say because of the angle- you know her better than anyone, so no-one can make that call except you (and I suppose DP gets a say, maybe )

treedelivery · 07/05/2009 20:48

EPPM- Shrill. Lol. that is just the word for little girls. Especially when they are whiny pants.

I agree your dd is a particulary scrumptious specimen. So so beautiful. Ds obviously a looker too

LenniEd · 07/05/2009 21:27

LOL at you listening to the Archers MissJ while you bf Nye to sleep

Glad head is improving EPPM - I'm watching DS like a hawk too. Still no signs though I've come across a couple of babies in helmets recently at groups and things. I wish in some ways we had pushed for it with DD - living out in the sticks means things like that just aren't very widely known about and when I mentioned it to HV after reading on here she was dimissive to say the least. Our GP looked into private options for us but it all involved travelling a long way and no one really seemed to want to help. Her head thankfully has recovered partially by itself, but it is far from perfect.

DD is permanently shrill too - and permanently a whiny pants right now.

DS has dropped down the centiles too - he is over 16lbs but was on 91st for a long time and now more like 75th. HV said it was of no concern and bf babies usually started to slow down around this point and get overtaken by formula fed babies which skews the growth charts. Anecdotely I think there is something in that since my sister's DS who is ff is finally catching Dylan up now after 4 months of being considerably lighter despite similar birthweight and similar genes.

Am feeling a bit better today, had a good cry tonight as a close friend has moved away and think that's done me the world of good - sometimes I just need a good sob to feel better

Am looking at career changing too - been looking at the social work website. Think it's about time I got to consider going back to work. DH seems supportive too.

PatTheHammer · 07/05/2009 21:51

Good luck with your job-hunting Lenni, a very admirable career choice I think, even though its getting loads of flak in the media I have a few good friends who do social work.

Agree wholeheartedly with the shrill thing, DD tends to do it directly into my earhole at the moment, utterly annoying, perhaps we should all start a thread on how annoying (yet cute at the same time) little girls can be!

Miss J- Good luck with the move, good to hear Nye doing well. Unfortunately Zach is staying on the 91st percentile. Is 4mnths today and well over 18lbs, comfortably in his 6-9 mnth wardrobe (even then, some of the trousers a bit tight around his belly). And the thighs on him! Surely he needs to slow down soon

elkiedee · 07/05/2009 21:59

We've got quite into listening to the Archers here too, though I tend to catch it in bits and have to guess what's happened in between. My mum was brought up with the Archers herself from probably about the start of the programme.

fymmumoftwo · 07/05/2009 22:03

...it's the fym bit I want to get rid of.....

when I signed up to mumsnet yonks ago I was yummymummy (or some such variation) cos I couldn't think of anything else which wasn't already in use. hated it and became freddiesy..m.. which became fym and various variations.

13 weeks so 16lb is 91st centile (or on the new bf charts obese ) strangely DS1 and DS2 are both following the 91st centile perfectly (DS1 is still on it even at 3.5). Both were on the 50th centile for height so can't us that excuse.

teeth eek fortunately I think we've got a few months yet... very chewy and you can see the whiteness on the gums but DS1 didn't have teeth until 6 months so think we have a while yet!
