happy birthday for tomorrow Ewe! I still have 80s stuff in my wardrobe from 1st time round, just can't fit the extra 5st bodyweight into it...

Dontpanic · 24/03/2009 22:09

ooh, MB, just spotted your message re homebirth, how are they doing, did he panic? Hope they're all ok

MarchNowFebMum · 25/03/2009 09:21

happy birthday ewe!

turtle23 · 25/03/2009 09:28

Happy Birthday Ewe!
Why have they ruined our thread? I can't see it properly.

Happy birthday Ewe!

Thread wasn't working for me earlier but is now.

DS had first wobble about mummy working last night - really clingy when I got home, and also clingy with DH which he never is, plus had to give him cuddles at 11pm and 2.30 which we haven't had to do in over a month. Not sure if it was realisation that this mummy working thing is not just a passing phase, or if he is getting a bit ill (bit sniffly). Seemed bright enough this morning, and not sad when I left though, and I have a day off with him tomorrow.

littleducks · 25/03/2009 10:22

hiya, i havent posted in ages but have been lurking

turtle congrats
Ewe happy birthday

last friday was my birthday and i feel so old! three years without an unbroken night is a major factor, i think!

took the kids to Legoland which has just reopened (we have passes) which was not as good as i hoped, ds kicked up a bit of fuss as he wants to go on all the rides his sister goes on but she has only just reached the 90cm height restriction at nearly three and ds doesnt have his birthday until next wednesday

Paranoid1stTimer · 25/03/2009 22:09

Haven't been here for a long time again but I wanted to drop in and say a very very happy birthday to all the one year olds out there!!!

I too was looking back over the threads from last year and teared up a little with nostalgia. It's a strange time this 1st birthday land mark. Now Dillon's party is over and his helium balloons are starting to sag, I feel really deflated too... 1st Christmas, 1st birthday, 1st Mothers Day... Ahhh.

As for favourite presents... DS loves a wooden stacking reel of 5 colour rings... Everything else just seemed to be nonchalantly cast aside!!!

Paranoid1stTimer · 25/03/2009 22:14

merryberry - is this your mary cassatt pic?

lord i've been busy...sole charge for a few days and some hosue stuff to sort. ewe i tried and failed to post on fb on your birthday. so belated happy birthdays!

am wondering if i can nick a nickname or ten from you all. i'm tired of calling gg and ds1 the same old names:

sweetpea
pea
pie
georgeous
vinnie vinster
tigger
tiger
tig
tigwig

etc etc etc

merryberry · 26/03/2009 14:55

not sure of the HB dh-delivery dontpanic....have just posted a card in the door but don't want to butt in during these mad early days, i know her well, she'll want to find her feet first!

ilovegreenbeans · 26/03/2009 15:13

So unimaginative here: boo. Or boo-boo.

turtle23 · 26/03/2009 20:47

Chez turtle the problem is that Pascal has too many nicknames. He's only just worked out his name is Pascal. (For example:Pong, picklepops, mr. baby, the list is endless.)

P is one tomorrow. This time last year I was in tears as I gave in and transferred to hospital. Seeing same midwives in 3 weeks for the next one!

Dontpanic · 26/03/2009 23:13

Turtle, you're not still seeing it as a failure are you? Very happy birthday to P for tomorrow!
I've finally decided it's time to get hold of acopy of all my notes from the hospital as still get upset by the whole experience. When I eventually get them, nice indy m/wife I met on the hypnobirthing course offered to go through them with me to put my mind at rest (hopefully).

MB, nicknames apart from Eddie, Edster are probably snotty and smiler

turtle23 · 27/03/2009 05:57

Dp-No, not at all. Was just reflecting. The tears were then, not now! Funnily enough, I went for my debrief on 2 March and got preggers the next day. Coincidence?

Many thanks for the birthday wishes...we started the day at 5!

Our DS may start thinking that he isn't really called Leo after all, as DH currently mainly calls him Bob - and Bobsy Boo, Bobster, DJ Boberella, Bobalicious etc.

I call him Mister Moo.

His grandpa calls him something different every time he talks to him!

HolidaysQueen · 27/03/2009 07:32

And of course, the whole reason we picked Leo was because it couldn't be shortened into any nickname...

HolidaysQueen · 27/03/2009 07:32

Happy Birthday, Pascal! You were the due date baby that I didn't have

crashfistfight · 27/03/2009 07:47

Happy birthday mums and babes!

Just back from a venice where there is not a child seat on the island...not one!

Nicknames:

Nugget
Pickle
Honey
Sugar
Cupcake

is a theme emerging?

ilovegreenbeans · 27/03/2009 09:56

Oh, and almost forgot my favorite: Herolicious!

merryberry · 27/03/2009 10:14

smiling ++ at the nicknames, very cute
happy birthday P!

MarchNowFebMum · 27/03/2009 10:22

We call dd Beegee, very silly but has just evolved - we almost NEVER call her by her real name, isn't that weird? Has become Beegers, Beege and Begette at times.

She also gets bear, bear-bear and birdie.

Just got off phone with friend in Canada who claims she had just 6 mins of pushing with her second baby.
