Think so. Bring her along...if she can cope with the vision of her future!

Sorry to be rubbish, but we can't make it tomorrow. Some work was delayed getting to me, and as a result I have to deliver it to Oxford tomorrow instead of getting a courier. Grr. The joys of freelancing I suppose. I believe there was a Saturday meet proposed too?

Have fun, and take lots of photos.

ilovegreenbeans · 23/06/2009 20:14

I would love to come, but made lunch date with girl I don't see a lot. Sorry, that sounds lame. Would love to try to make the next one

ilovegreenbeans · 23/06/2009 20:15

Meant to say lunch date made ages ago- June 24th and June 24th were not same day in my head until yesterday.

turtle23 · 24/06/2009 05:57

So it's 4, possibly 5 (MNFM are you in?) of us? To get to the basement and the Garden, walk through the engines, through space, take the lift to the basement. See you there!

hiya how was the meeting? did the babies disaassemble the science museum?

Dontpanic · 24/06/2009 21:16

they're probably all drunk in the basement wondering where the dinosaur is...

Ewe · 24/06/2009 21:24

Meet was good thank you, weather was amazing! We had a few transport issues so we didn't get to stay at science museum for that long as we needed to feed the babies so we went to the park.

Had a picnic, walked a bit, got a delicious ice cream, played in the park, babies started to meltdown and tantrum a bit (apart from littleducks DS, he was a little angel!). Have some pics which I will upload when I get a minute.

Very tired though, all this sitting in the sun and chasing playing has worn me out

turtle23 · 25/06/2009 06:32

Yes, we had a lovely time. Hopefully we will get more people to come along next time as we all had lovely ice cream AND YOU DIDN'T!!!
Will try and get some pix onto FB

P let me lie in til 530 this morning. Must sort out window to make it midnight all the time.

i had an efficient but soulless day up at t'big orspital. god i was tired!

ilovegreenbeans · 25/06/2009 09:03

photos are lovely turtle!

HolidaysQueen · 25/06/2009 09:45

Love the photos V jealous I wasn't there - I think I have finally plucked up the courage to mix RL and t'interweb but I work on Weds so it wasn't possible.

Things hectic here - work very very busy for me so on top of my 3 days I'm working some evenings and during DS's naptimes But it is a great project that I've wanted to do for years and I'm enjoying it, and I hated work for the first few months, so this is better, so long as it ends soon. Good news is I'm off for 2 weeks after tomorrow. Visiting parents then a week in Cornwall - first proper UK holiday for years and years and years!

Merry - I'm starting to work on some RA projects at work (early stage stuff though, and I'm on strategy side rather than science) If I come up with anything interesting, I will pass it on, although I fear you know way more than I ever will - I am learning much from your blog.

Anyone else with a non-walking DC? DS nearly 15mo and still showing zero interest. He will push his walker very efficiently and happily but only if we stand him against it - his default is to crawl to it and then push it while shuffling on his knees. Will cruise round furniture, but won't stand on his own. I guess he has learned how to crawl very quickly while carrying things, so he has little incentive to walk, but it is getting annoying when he hates his buggy but can't be let out to walk anywhere. Sigh...

ilovegreenbeans · 25/06/2009 10:10

HQ- dd is not walking yet either, although she has taken steps. Much prefers to push her wheelybug around (and she's fast!). Saying that, at toddler group yesterday she ended up walking about 7 or 8 steps while singing "If you're happy and you know it stomp your feet", which she totally didn't realise she was doing .

I am at work today and wish I was home with dd. Still haven't taken the plunge to resign, not sure if I will yet with DH's job not being totally secure at the moment . I do find part-time really hard as I don't have a lot of my own projects anymore, mainly help other researchers with theirs. Which is nice not to ever have to take work home, but is boring.

Turtle, I bought a Gro-Anywhere blind this week and it's very very dark. Bit of a faff to put up every day but still really good.

There are Canada Day celebrations next Wednesday in Trafalgar Square. If anyone fancies going down in the afternoon, let me know.

FfreckleFface · 25/06/2009 17:38

Hello all.

Merryberry, glad yesterday was productive.

Turtle, we were having some issues with early waking due to stupid yellow Winnie the Pooh curtains. I am going to get a blackout blind, but as an interim solution I used red towels and some parcel tape. Et voila, nothing before half seven, and this morning she slept until quarter to nine.

Ff isn't walking on her own yet either. She can walk holding hands, and is a demon with the walker, but I think she is much too fast at crawling to make walking worthwhile.

New trick is lobbing stuff over the side of the high chair/buggy/car seat then shouting, 'Uh oh!'. I have tried to explain that 'uh oh' is only relevant if it is an accident, but so far no good.

Had a rubbish afternoon. Treated ourselves to a long walk in the sunshine, but Girldog overdid it and got heatstroke. Her back legs went to jelly, and she was panting and shivering, so had to throw her into the back of the car and speed to the vets. They've kept her overnight, but just rang to say she'll be fine. I am stuck with Boydog wandering round looking for her, and a car boot full of dog mess. Am slightly calmer now, but trying to negotiate a toddler and a collapsed rottweiler into the vet was not much fun.

turtle23 · 26/06/2009 06:24

Room still midnight. P woke at 530. Grr. He isn't feeling too great though...very snotty. I would sooo like to have a lie-in til 630.

littleducks · 26/06/2009 21:00

turtle it can take a few days for it to work

ds took his first few proper steps after the meet up, so he obv felt he had some catching up to do!

im struggling a bit but have set up a fb page as Notsolarge ducks, so if you can addd me to lists/groups whatever then i can see all the baby pics!

Ewe · 26/06/2009 21:08

I will get my pics up tomorrow, been rather manic with work but good news as my 10% pay cut has been reinstated from next month, hurrah!

I will add you now ducks. Good to hear about DS walking although I bet it'll take a while to get as fast as he is bum shuffling, I can't believe how speedy he is!!

turtle I want to come and drag your husband out of bed at 5.30 every day for the next 15 months to give him a taste of the relentlessness of never giving you a bloody lie in!! Does P still nap at all? Please tell me you are at least getting a chance to catch up then.

turtle23 · 26/06/2009 21:08

LD- Have looked for you but cannot find you. I emailed you with how to find me and the rest of us!
