Ouch! poor thing. I travel with piriton everywhere as am just waiting for this to happen. Garden covered in clover...eek.

have added you too littleducks.

mb glad ds is ok, poor thing.

Girls, think I might be pg! Was thinking of waiting till next month to try, then had a bit of a miscalculation of when I was ovulating (kept telling DH that it was def thurs, then once thurs arrived realised I'd had EWCM around mon/tues and not at all on thurs...) And yesterday and today am having v v light bleeding, totally not a period! Was going to wait to test until next week, but might pop out tonight ready for morning. The strangest part? If I am it will have the same due date as dd!

HolidaysQueen · 27/06/2009 14:40

EEEEEEKKKKKK!!!! That is just too exciting ilgb Fingers crossed for you

merryberry · 27/06/2009 15:11

ooooooooh how exciting!

ilovegreenbeans · 27/06/2009 15:21

Conversation this morning:

me: DH, I think I might be pregnant
DH: What? No... we haven't gotten enough practice in yet! Now you're not going to want any until you're all overdue and trying to get it out!

turtle23 · 27/06/2009 18:11

ilgb-Hurrah!! Keeping everything crossed for you!

OP posts:
Ewe · 27/06/2009 19:03

Oooh so exciting! All these new babies! Good luck ilgb.

JFly · 28/06/2009 14:50

Oooh! That's exciting ILGB! Fingers crossed for you.

I am the lucky recipient of 2 periods in one month. My cycle seems to be getting shorter (26 days average) over the last few months which doesn't bode well for trying for another one. Still, it is more incentive to stop bfeeding.

On that topic, G seems to be getting frustrated with the boob lately so perhaps the milk isn't as good/plentiful. Whatever the reason, it causes him to suck like a hoover and twist his entire body around at the same time. Not so comfortable, as you might imagine. So, I'm trying to have a cup/bottle ready at those times to make the switcheroo. So far he takes a few swigs and then goes back to the boob, but maybe we'll get there eventually.

And we have walking now! He started properly walking (more than his typical 5 steps) while we in the States and now he's toddling all over the place. He still prefers to walk at home so most of my friends don't believe he can do it. But, I'm sure he'll start showing off soon!

merryberry · 28/06/2009 18:10

i nearly made a preggo lady vom on regent's street today. i'd just turned out of a 20 minutes session spraying myself with gay abandon in liberties perfume room and wafted past her wearing:

2 serge lutyens
2 comme de garcons
fracas
joy
and something that smelt of rotten melons and was hilariously overpriced

we were stuck face to face then as she inched by me she said 'oh god', retched and then swore about me to her man.

oops

MarchNowFebMum · 28/06/2009 20:18

LOL on MB's perfume explosion and ilgb dh's comment. Don't keep us in suspense, let's have the news!

JFly - my cycles have been getting shorter as well since dd born - dr says it's to due with the estrogen only pill (? whatever the one for breastfeeding). But I've just switched this month so hopefully I'll have a bit of a reprieve.

Feel horribly behind on news but the good news is I have just sorted out how to check Mnet on my blackberry and so pretty soon you'll be sick of me!

ilovegreenbeans · 28/06/2009 20:36

sorry, sorry, not gotten around to buying tests yet. (can't believe I'm being so chilled about this!)

Dontpanic · 28/06/2009 21:32

potential congratulations ILGB!
Make sure you stay well clear of MB though...unless you want to avoid taking the test, just smell her instead ;p

FfFf, how's girldog? Don't know how you managed to get her to the vets, assume you had to do some heavy lifting? I don't take our pooch out until 7ish in this weather, he doesn't understand he'll knacker himself if he runs like a loon in this heat with a fur coat on.

Very of the walking LOs, I know it's more hassle to keep an eye on them, but I'd really prefer not to have E scraping his knees on the patio when he decides to avoid the soft mats and go crawling at speed anywhere but. He can still only toddle about 8 steps, getting braver, but crawling still too fast to bother with walking. Expert at standing up and shoving stray food in his mouth though. Or stones, or dog biscuits. Abandoning the boys again tomorrow until Thurs, going to be down in Dorset with work, trying to find somewhere to cater for a low carb vegetarian. Am taking supplies and a mini fridge.

turtle23 · 29/06/2009 15:37

ILGB- are you going to keep us all waiting forever? We need to know!!!

ilovegreenbeans · 29/06/2009 22:24

Finally went and bought test this afternoon.

I was right!

Ewe · 29/06/2009 23:01

WOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOO!!!

Congratulations!

FfreckleFface · 29/06/2009 23:05

Congratulations! That's fab news. I bet you're thrilled?

turtle23 · 30/06/2009 06:12

HURRRRRRAAAAAAAHHHHH! Congrats!
Note to others on thread...don't drink the water round here....something is obviously going on. How many of us is that now, 5? 6?

OP posts:
littleducks · 30/06/2009 08:11

Congratulations!!! I had to keep checking the thread to see if you had posted yet

Ds is practicing the whole walking thing, tbh it is still 'steps' rather than walking but he is very proud of himself and dd is delighted as she has been waiting since the day he was born to teach him 'Ring a Roses'

I am thinking of pulling out the paddling pool to cool down the kids, how is everyone else mananging with the little ones in the heat?

I have found a job to apply for, will just be on saturdays so dh will have the kids but after nearly 4 years without doing interviews etc i am getting very nervous as all my references etc seem so out of date! Hopefully once you get back into the whole work world it is easier

bambipie · 30/06/2009 08:37

Congrats IGLB!

We had a similar 'miscalculation'. DH's comment "well that takes the pressure off next month then".

I am joyfully no longer feeling sick, triple test this week.

JFly · 30/06/2009 13:43

Congratulations, ILGB! This is all very exciting. Hand me a drink of that water, Turtle. My DH says if we have another we'll need to get a nanny. Heck, I'll do it just for the childcare!!

Littleducks, that's great news about the walking! G slowly increased the amount of steps he'd take over about 3 or 4 weeks. Not one to rush things, of course. I'd love to get G a little pool for the garden, but he's not interested in wading at all. I put his feet in the pool at the park and he screams. So probably not worth it for us!

merryberry · 30/06/2009 15:41

hey congratulations ilgb when's your due date d'you reckon?

we've got a paddling pool but i'm not putting it out atm as i do leave the area unsupervised with gg in it to cook and scrape ds1 out of scrapes. we're keeping cool today by doing stuff from about 8am and being home for lunch by 1130 on non school days, hanging out at home (which is cool in both senses) til about 4pm and then going to our local shady park for a picnic tea and general loafing around. pretty much the same pattern to each day, except i hate the walk home from school on school days at 1300 in this heat.

oh, and ds1 truly mortified me in public this morning on our way to play in the woods.

turtle23 · 30/06/2009 17:05

I'm guessing 6th March.

We decided to put the slide into the paddling pool. I am now exhausted as that is all P wanted to do for 4 solid hours. (he cant get up it properly when wet...pg mummy had to lift him each time. UGH.)

So hot. Ick.

Dontpanic · 30/06/2009 19:03

yay, pass round the crystallised ginger with the water!

Congratulations

MB, your day sounds lovely!

littleducks · 01/07/2009 08:30

ds was up at 5.10 this morning for no apparent reason, i had to take him downstairs as dd had a late night and needed to sleep so he was treated to ITNG dvd while i snoozed on the sofa.......so much for trying to diet i had to scofff jammy dodgers and tea to not completly knock out, these hot days are very long as napping is unpredictable now

Paddling pool was sucessful shame its tiny and i cant fit in!

dd informs me ds has learnt to say "NO"

merry- that story is brilliant! you have to remeber that one

HolidaysQueen · 01/07/2009 16:54

HURRAY ILGB!!!!

JFly and MNDM - cycles getting shorter and periods much heavier here. Gone from 30 days to 27 over the past few months, and from light flow tampons for 2 days to feeling like I need Mothercare maternity pads for 5 days... Sigh.

Just escaped hell: stuck on closed motorway with screaming toddler in 34C heat and having to switch AC off every so often as worried about petrol. Sigh.

Fortunately, it cleared after an hour, and fortunately we were very close to home once it did.

I say toddler but he isn't: sounds like my DS is the only one not taking any steps even. He's not even standing without support We expected him to be slow after he broke his leg, but he has actually been weight-bearing on that for 3 months now, but just isn't progressing from standing holding on to things. He just crawls everywhere and can carry things while doing so, so zero incentive to do anything else I suppose. At what point do I start worrying? I know it isn't really at 15mo, but just wondering when I should start to talk to professionals.

DP - I'm not sure it is worse when good crawlers walk. At the moment, if DS whinges in buggy then the only options are to rush home with a screaming child, or else let him crawl amidst fag butts/dog poo/ring pulls . At least if he could walk I could let him out and he wouldn't be quite as close to the ground so might avoid quite so much ickiness. Plus there is no way DS will be as fast at walking as crawling for a very long time - he is faster than Usain Bolt on all fours
