Veggie - I don't drink coffee but do you fancy sharing a wedge of cake? And can P have some of Spot's lemsip? And does anyone have any e-hugs going? Tears have started

EffiePerine · 19/03/2009 10:26

Aw Trace

no coffee but a rhubarb yoghurt (DS foiled my nap plans by waking up - grrr)

kayzr · 19/03/2009 10:26

Trace You can have plenty of hugs!! You can have some special Freddie hugs too. He is in a very huggy mood this morning.

traceface · 19/03/2009 10:30

thanks Effie, Kayz and Freddie! Rhubarb yoghurt sounds good. Is it one of those with crumble too?

EffiePerine · 19/03/2009 10:32

No crumble, sadly

DS2 is clawing at me - trimmed his nails but they are still sharp!

SummerLightning · 19/03/2009 10:39

kayz ashamed to admit i used "spring forward fall back" and still got it wrong

Verso · 19/03/2009 10:41

I have tea and a wakeful growth-spurting DD2. She finally started to nap but then woke herself up with bottom wind . Gorgeous day out there. I was supposed to be going to baby massage but the clinic is in a scary street (someone was stabbed there a few weeks back) with limited parking and in any case DD2 had her first bit of sleep since about 3am just when I needed to leave. (Not that I'm in any fit state to drive the car anyway!)

Mmmm rhubarb yoghurt sounds good. I don't think I've got anything that exciting in the house .

Verso · 19/03/2009 10:42

trace have some huge hugs from me.

Nolda · 19/03/2009 10:42

Hi Veggie, I've got my coffee and ready to chat until DS wakes up anyway. Making the most of DD being at pre-school to have a MN catch-up.

Sorry Verso that your DH is still adding to your trials and tribulations. I hope he will make his mind up about what he wants soon and is more supportive to you. Kimberley, very to hear about your LO and trip to the hospital. I'm glad that he is doing better now.

I hope you have a lovely time in Devon Spot. LadyT loved the 'magnificent lemurs'.

JJ glad to hear your friends' LO is back at home now after the operation.

Trace I'm not on top form today either and came over all tearful after dropping DD off. Is it lovely and sunny where you are? I hope you get through your chores and manage to get out into the sun and feel more cheerful. I just need a kick up the butt as I don't have anything to be down about. I'm hoping it's AF returning as I'm beginning to worry that DH will go ahead and have the snip for no reason.

For anyone whose LO is drooling non-stop, have you seen these bandana bibs? They absorb all the drool, don't have plastic backing and come in lots of different colours. Another mum from DD's pre-school put me onto them.

Nolda · 19/03/2009 10:45

Sorry cross-posted with you Trace have some big hugs from me.

Veggiemummy · 19/03/2009 11:17

Oh fussy ds2 my coffee is going cold I think there is another in the plunger.

Oh Trace come here I'll give you a hug >sneaks a bit of cake whilst having a cuddle<

Is that the activia yoghurt I had one of them for breakfast, they are on special at the moment 3 packs for price of 2 so we have loads.

What a nice day might try to turn some of the soil this afternoon though we only have a kiddie shovel so far what equipmdnt should I have?

spotofcheerfulness · 19/03/2009 11:18

I can offer lemsips, coffees (regular or Irish), and apples that taste of fish, it would seem. Any takers?

artichokes · 19/03/2009 11:19

Trace - big hugs. Tou asked why i am cutting snacks and introducing DD2 to the milk meal time. The theory is two pronged. First they might eat better and get a fuller tummy if they space out their feeds. Second, if they are used to being able to snack all day how can they know not to do the same at night? Who knows if it works in practise but as I said last night was a little better.

Nolda - hello! Was thinking about you yesterday and worrying you had disappeared. Sorry you are having a down day too.

PMK - thank you for joining in the service station chat. It made me feel better about myself! You have lived EVERYWHERE. I love Tavistock I did not live near there or Honiton. We lived near a town called Totnes. Might go down there atcEaster depending on our move date.

Just got the survey back on the new house. It "might" have wood boring beetle infestation. Hmm. That does not sound good. Not good at all.

Nolda · 19/03/2009 11:29

Arti, does wood boring infestation mean wood worm and does that mean you will have to have a further survey carried out?

Spot I'll pass on the apples if you don't mind .

pmk1 · 19/03/2009 11:36

Yeah, I've moved around a bit - also Japan for 18 months ages ago! I taught English - ! I Love Totnes! I took my parents through there when they visited. I was just the other side of Dartmoor - nice part of the country. My moving to Devon was DH's job - otherwise we have only lived in London and Oxfordshire since i've been here.
My pop up travel cot arrived! It's really good - very light weight, and packs up into a very small carry bag - perfect. We have our trip penciled in for the beginning of May. I have a travel cot I can borrow when we get there, but it's one of the bigger ones and I actually thinkB will be happier in this smaller cosier one... and it has a mosquito net which is great since I'm paranoid about Dengue Fever! However apparently it's over now and I'm worrying about nothing! I'm yet another coffee now....

pmk1 · 19/03/2009 11:38

i'm having another coffee I meant to say!

Veggiemummy · 19/03/2009 11:40

Oh that's very bad isn't it? Would you get a price reduction or is the whole thing gonna fall apart?

Can I have an Irish coffee? Coffee and alcohol coming together what bliss.

Child asleep again he fought against it though, dh is home and it seemed to me that he wanted to stay awake to be with us both, they are getting so much more with it now aren't they.

DH is making another coffee there was only a half cup left in the pot.

Kayz sorry about your migraine you have so much to do poor thing.

Verso that's a bit scary about what happened on scary baby massage street.

Oh just realized it is baby clinic this afternoon so can get ds2 weighed finally.

Nolda · 19/03/2009 11:43

pmk I grew up in Wargrave and my DH lived in Shiplake before we were married, so I know/knew Henley quite well. (Henley was where you lived, wasn't it?)

pmk1 · 19/03/2009 12:07

Hi Nolda yeah - we still have our place there, I really like Henley and Shiplake We always went to the "George & Dragon" in Wargrave - it was my favourite place!

poisondwarf · 19/03/2009 12:08

Hiya everyone

Been aaaages since I posted, but do manage to lurk now and again (thanks to LadyT, trace & Jam for asking about me). Way too much to catch up on or do personals but sorry to hear about those of you having it rough (especially Verso).

Would be very up for a meet-up - not long left in London now. Move date is now the beginning of May. Have found tenants for our flat so it's all starting to feel very real. Am supposed to be sorting through old clothes right now actually in preparation for the move - DP is due back with DS any minute so I am expecting a(nother) telling off.

Damn, DD woken up - back later if I get the chance!

spotofcheerfulness · 19/03/2009 12:10

Great news about the flat , POison, but you're moving out of the area.
Found cake so fishy apples can take a hike. Never thought I'd think, let alone write that particular sentence.

Veggiemummy · 19/03/2009 12:12

Oh lovely to see you PD why are you getting told off? Fantastic you have tennants already for the May move. Good luck with it all.

poisondwarf · 19/03/2009 12:13

Aha, seems to have got herself back to sleep (has started sucking her thumb in the last couple of days which is handy).

So yeah, Jam we will be able to have our very own East of England meet-up soon (and to be joined at some point by Effie - how's that going for you?). In the meantime I am so loving being in London, especially in this weather.

Bloomin heck, woken up again and phone going ...

poisondwarf · 19/03/2009 12:21

Veggie cos I've been putting off sorting out my clothes for ever. And I mean that - I cannot recall ever chucking clothes away and consequently my own loft, my mum's and even my DP's mum's are full of my clothes. I wouldn't mind but they are all disgusting, cheap, knackered tat or just way too small for me to ever having a hope in hell of getting in them again. Not only that but I take all my sister's cast-offs and never wear most of them. I want locking up.

poisondwarf · 19/03/2009 12:33

Yeah so DP and I have decided to treat this next few weeks as a holiday since we're leaving for good - better get loads of photos of the DCs next to Big Ben otherwise they'll never believe they used to live here. So I'm up for doing loads of touristy London stuff if anyone fancies has any suggestions or fancies joining me. Went to Greenwich on the boat from Westminster the other day. Had a margarita & a beer for lunch (oh yeah and a bit of food on the side) then Greenwich park for DS. We had a great time. Will be heading over to Kew at some point if you fancy meeting up ros or anyone else.

Bah, DP back ...
