Please don't all change your names! I only did because I was a complete div and used my real name [stupido emoticon].

EffiePerine · 19/03/2009 08:02

actually, the clocks go forward so w
hat we think is 6am will be 7am - not sure if that is any better

rosmerta · 19/03/2009 08:23

verso you're not complaining! If anyone needs a break, it's you

artichokes · 19/03/2009 08:44

gosh you all just scared me about the clocks. I have been relying on that time change to cure dd2's 6am habit and then you took my hope away... Thank god it is the way I thought.

Well our night was a tiny bit better. Not great but just a little improved. Dd2 has been waking every 3 hours but last night she started the night with a 5.5 hour chunk before a3 hour stretch and then 2 hours which took her to 6.20am (seems much better than 6am). I am hoping this is the affect of stretching her feeds in the day so I will be doing that again today. Fingers crossed.

Does anyone know Adrian Chiles (sp?) from The One Show? He lives near me and was in the same cafe as us yesterday afternoon. He spotted DD2, who was in a very smiley mood, and started making funny faces at her. I had previously had him down as a bastard (he recently walked out on his wife (who presents Womens' Hour on R4)). However, I am a sucker for people who are nice to my babies so now I love him.

SummerLightning · 19/03/2009 08:47

Sorry for scaring everyone! Got confused!

waitinggirl · 19/03/2009 09:05

hang on - don't clocks go back w/e of 29th??? no need to panic just yet??? or am i a durrr?

i heart adrian chiles!

EffiePerine · 19/03/2009 09:12

Of course, it is next w/end (last in March) but they go forward not back (spring forward, fall back )

spot the sleep deprivation on this thread! Do we all know who the prime minister is?

SummerLightning · 19/03/2009 09:13

effie I even had quite a lot of sleep last night

EffiePerine · 19/03/2009 09:17

so did I... maybe our brains are permanently fried

Verso · 19/03/2009 09:24

what's a prime minister?

SummerLightning · 19/03/2009 09:27

Oh and I take back the kitchen tip thing....been down this morning...he has tidied most of it up!
Can't complain really!

spotofcheerfulness · 19/03/2009 09:31

Oh, my fault I think. Soz.
T not able to nap as teeth are hurting him too much, v to see.
We're off on hol for a week to Devon on Sat (yay!) so will make a break from MN to try and spend some quality time with DP, will miss it lots so don't you all have too much fun without me .
Any tips for surviving long car journeys with the littlies?

Veggiemummy · 19/03/2009 09:31

Oh I fear the day clocks change it used to really mess ds1. He was always a placid chilled out boy but when the clocks changed he would go mental and cry and whine all day. No idea why we didn't have much of a routine and so just adjusted times rather than fitting him to a new time but he still hated it. He's better now but not sure what ds2 will do, he is more a routine boy so he might freak out more.

traceface · 19/03/2009 09:35

morning!

According to my diary the clocks change on the 29th - relax we've got ages yet

I am feeling odd today. I feel invisible - dd1 has ignored everything I've said this morning and only listened to her daddy, and dh made himself a cuppa and didn't even think to ask if I wanted one. I know this is mightily insignificant but I wonder if I exist today? Also am very tearful - but I'm not down - just feel like I need a good ol' cry for no reason! Does anyone else get that or am I bonkers? I think it's tiredness - Phoebe-the-snot has done 3 nights of mini feeds, mini sleeps, mega snorts so I'm feeling extra sleepy.

My house is mucky. Lucy wouldn't put her shoes on this morning until she'd wiped the dust off the fire . Dust is so annoying because it just won't stay away!
DH made himself a risotto last night when he got in after parents' evening (he did offer me some!) and so this morning the kitchen has muchos rice everywhere. And many pans have been used - I think it's a man thing summer - makes them feel big if they can use everything in the kitchen!

EffiePerine · 19/03/2009 09:38

Trace: can you get a nap in today? DS2 is dozing off aND DS1 at the CM so will be heading off myself shortly...

artichokes · 19/03/2009 09:40

Spot - where are you going on Devon? I grew up there and heart the whole area. Can you drive at night or at least do most of the journey over lunch so he has his long nap then? That is what we always did with DD1. And if you need to stop then remember that Leigh Delamere is the last civilized service station, everything after that will give you nightmares. In fact I was asked not to bare my breasts at Bridgewater Services (I was feeding, not table dancing).

artichokes · 19/03/2009 09:43

I can't believe I have just posted about service stations. I have officially turned into my grandmother and should be euthanized before I bore myself to death.

traceface · 19/03/2009 09:47

Arti - can I ask about your feeds? How does spacing out day feeds help longer stints at night? Do they take more at each feed if you space them out?

pmk1 · 19/03/2009 09:50

I agree with Arti I lived in Devon (well only 7 months) near Tavistock (plymouth) and for about 3 months I commuted to London once a week. Leigh Delamare is for sure the best services other than Reading which is right here! You'll drive in and right back out of any of the others! Horrified (however not too surprised) at your reception at Bridgewater!

pmk1 · 19/03/2009 09:51

LOL Arti I did too! We should both worry!

spotofcheerfulness · 19/03/2009 10:00

That is hilarious about the service stations, T is now FF but I feel I should give a gratuitous flash anyway now I know!
Hol is nr Honiton, will find name of exact village when T rises from the hoover. Oh, that's now then.

spotofcheerfulness · 19/03/2009 10:09

Place called Buckerell.
Effie, I shall be route marching young T round Clissold at about 1 and then at 4 in a probably hopeless attempt to get him to nap (that last one was 15 mins) if you're about then?

EffiePerine · 19/03/2009 10:13

About 4 sounds good - will drop you a text .

Veggiemummy · 19/03/2009 10:15

Just thinking of the clocks isn't it funny that it happens twice a year yet we never remember when it is or which way the clocks go!

Feeling a little poorly today, mucky head and throat, tried to sleep while ds having his nap but just as I was dropping off he woke up. Time for coffee I think anyone wanna join me, spot you can bring your lemsip.

kayzr · 19/03/2009 10:24

Dh was taught this little saying at school. "The clocks spring forward and fall back". His teacher was American and of course they call autumn fall.
