Thanks HMM. I think he?s gorge too. But I think all our babies are lovely. And yes it was me you were talking to about the photos. So glad you?ve got the prescription - brilliant news. I hope it starts working quickly.

Poor ds Myjob. I don?t suppose those school photos are going to show him at his best. I like the sound of N?s dancing. You?ll have to put a video on Facebook.

Great picture MM. Martha?s got such lovely chubby cheeks. Is she actually asleep on the keyboard?

Oh, and the choking thing. Star, I really know where you?re coming from. I gave ds some sweet potato "chips" this morning. He enjoyed playing with them and sucked them a bit. But I can't get over my fear that he's going to squirrel a big bit away in the side of his mouth and choke on it later when he goes for a nap. I thought I was OK with the BLW thing, but I?m not sure I am.

Also, do you think rhubarb is a bit too actidy for babies? tummies? I picked a load out of the garden and cooked it to put on my muesli but I?m not sure whether to give ds any.

Honeymoonmummy · 31/03/2009 17:28

[Genuflects in front of MyJob]

Awww, how nice MyJob!

Don't know about rhubarb, would it say on the AK site Star was talking about?

aubergenie · 31/03/2009 17:38

You lucky thing myjob! How lovely.

jrsqueak · 31/03/2009 17:48

Just starting weaning J yesterday after he started screaming at tea time and I was on my own with 3 ds's so I gave him a chip and he loved it. Not the way I intended to start weaning. Hes had pureed apple today - was going to go for baby led weaning but think I will do a combination. What a week to start weaning though - hes just started on occasional bottles - dairy free and I get married on Saturday. aagghhh. At least he is taking the bottle though which is lucky as we have only just tried but wearing a wedding dress and breast feeding isn't very practical lol

Marthasmama · 31/03/2009 18:07

Awwww how lovely Myjob! I shall tell dh. I haven't even had a 'thank you for giving me a baby girl' present yet.

Rhubarb is too acidic for me Aubergenie! I hate it! I've had a quick look online and on Baby Centre it says it should be ok. Someone even says that baby Stan loves it! Maybe sweeten it with some apple? Martha just tried to eat some of my vegetable curry. Too spicy for babies!! Oh and no, not asleep on the keyboard. She'd get in the way of MN!

jrqueak - Yay for getting married! I LOVED my wedding day and would love to be able to do it all again. I'm so ! I am planning on a mixture of purees and BLW. As soon as she can get food in her mouth without getting horribly frustrated I'll move to solely BLW!

Ooh you're getting married. How exciting Jrsqueak! Glad the bottle-feeding is going well, as you don't want to be hitching your wedding dress up (or down?) at the reception really do you.

Marthasmama · 31/03/2009 19:46

It's mainly a Catholic thing isn't hmm? Genuflecting that is. Is anyone watching Eastenders? WTF is Peggy doing? Fab Hen do . Better than mine though. I went out to the pub with a couple of mates and got chatted up by an old man (well he was about 45 but I was 27 so, you know ). I should be doing chores as the kids are in bed but I can't be bothered! I'll do it later .....

Honeymoonmummy · 31/03/2009 20:15

Woooh MM, sugardaddy! It all counts in my book, I got wolf whistled by a load of binmen in Amsterdam a couple of years ago and it made my week!

Yeah, guilty as charged, I'm a good catholic girl

Jrsqueak, how wonderful! Have you been dieting like crazy to get into your dress?? I too loved my wedding day Of course, being a good catholic girl, it was a special night for me and my partner of 15 years...

Marthasmama · 31/03/2009 20:38

At least you were married before you produced a baby though hmm!! I'm a naughty, very lapsed, Catholic girl. Oh and ha ha ha about the sugar daddy. Don't they need to be loaded? This bloke was clearly not that!!! But he did say that I was the most beautiful woman in the bar that night. And something for Aubergenie - 'Your so beautiful, you could be a part-time model, but you'd probably still have to keep your normal job' I think he must have gone blind from the drink.

No special night here! I had terrible debilitating thrush on my wedding night! And DH was so pissed he just passed out when we got home. Ah, so romantic!

Pistachio - M will be in with us for a while longer as we haven't finished her room yet . Plus DH doesn't want her to go in her own room! Heh heh!

Honeymoonmummy · 31/03/2009 21:13

MM, DH just came into the room just as I was laughing out loud at the screen, I just said "It's Mumsnet"... "In the bar that night" eh? What a smooth-talker.

I KNEW you'd be a catholic girl, I can sniff out a lapsed catholic at 100 rosary beads.

Marthasmama · 31/03/2009 21:19

That's cheating though hmm. I've mentioned I have Italian blood. Ergo, must be Catholic . Yeah tell me about it, how could I have resisted. I think I just 'yeah, thanks' and went to get another drink. To cap it all, he then said to my mates 'Oh, you two aren't bad either'. Class. In a club in London I was once invited back to a male model's house for 'entertainment'. Ewwwwww. I said, er, no thanks, obviously.

Lets get back to babies....Don't you just love 'em

Honeymoonmummy · 31/03/2009 21:23

When I was 17, a bloke I'd got off with who was older and said he was a prison psychologist rang me and when my mum said I wasn't in said "Oh are you as good in bed as your daughter"!!!! I hadn't even BEEN to bed with him! God, the inquisition....

Marthasmama · 31/03/2009 21:25

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! That's a good one hmm! I can't beat that one! I should be in bed, but I want some me time.

CantSleepWontSleep · 31/03/2009 21:26

Hope you have a great wedding jrsqueak.

Feeling almost back to normal now thanks hmm.

Dd being a total PITA this week, esp about bedtime. Am utterly fed up of her tbh.

Took ds swimming this afternoon. He barely fits in dd's old wetsuit now!

Aw poor you CSWS - they really know how to put you through it don't they. DS has been ok for months now but just before he started school I could have put him out with the rubbish on many occasions. Bed time was an absolute nightmare, he'd never get dressed, he would just never ever listen. It does get better and I find it goes in waves, usually around changes in the seasons, daylight saving changes etc. Glad your tummy's better, did you lose any weight? Gin

MyJob - we are being naughty aren't we? Tee hee.

Marthasmama · 31/03/2009 21:33

Ha ha ha, just noticed the Freudian Slip there. I meant not Gin.....

jenwa · 31/03/2009 21:33

Catholic girl here too not practicing though so strictly not one !!

myjob was thinking the same about you remembering everyone, I try to then forget!

Poor Phoebe, she is poorly, been couching lots and crying and snotty but still smiling in between. I have propped her matress up but she keeps sliding to the side

DD1 also miserable today, she did not want to go to playgroup and balled her eyes out all the way . There is a library visit tomorrow so am going with her and taking dd2. In laws going to as My BILs children go and they take them. Anyway MIL said on phone that she would have Phoebe but because she is poorly and needs feeding I thought I may aswell take her and it will be her feed time when there so may aswell do it, I did mention to her about DD1 not happy so she suggested she finished early with her cousins and go home with her but to me I thought surely if she is upset going to playgroup if I take her out she will get in to the thinking she does not always have to go if she cries so dont want to get in to that routine (if that makes sense) anyway think MIL abit offy as she hates her grandchildren being upset and not happy and off course so do I but if DD1 really unhappy I would actually like to be with her not send her some where else. Sorry I am just ranting! Just makes me cross as MIL often says she can pick up dd1 from playgroup but DD goes til 3:15 and her cousins leave at 12 so MIL just wants to take her out. God I dont really know if I am making sense just ranting on here really and tyoing fast as know DD2 is not well and keeps crying!

ra ra ra ra rant over

jrsqueak YAY how exciting and how did you keep that quiet??? We must have pictures . I bet you are excited. Hope you have a lovely day.

heather1980 · 31/03/2009 21:33

alex is staying in with us. he still doesn't sleep through and it's not fair on dd. also her room is tiny so would be a real squeeze, whist our room is massive and the cotbed fits fine with plenty of room left.
i was a good irish girl (not catholic) and had a baby after i got married. i wed in september and was up the duff by feb!
i have started to give alex bits of food but i am so worried about choking i don't know if i can BLW! he's had cucumber and bits of bread and i can't stand the worry!
