csws we had it with dd too. She can be pain about bed time too although much better again recently more a pain eating now and the not listening drives me in sane! I told her the other day I was taking her to the shops and leaving her on the shelf to see if someone else wanted her I did feel guilty but she was just not listening and it was making me cross!

Marthasmama · 31/03/2009 21:38

Oh dear, am I the only one who doesn't worry about choking? I know what to do if M did choke but I just don't stress about it. [bad mother emoticon]

jenwa · 31/03/2009 21:39

I also find that telling her I will remove her toys and put them in a box until she shows me good behaviour works too! Not yet had to do it but nearly did yesterday as she was pushing it a bit again!

ronshar · 31/03/2009 21:47

Well what a load of chat. I always feel like I have missed so much when I cant get on here

HMM, do I remember you saying that you had abnormal Thyroid results? That could be a big part of all your physical problems. Great that you had a positive experience at the GP.

Star all babies will choke on something. The trick is for you to keep smiling while you help them keep calm. It is often the panic which makes the throat spasm more.
Did you know the biggest cause of choking deaths in children is mini sausages and the mums trying to dig them out. I spoke to a pathologist once and he told me that he had personally retrieved several sausages with nail dents where the frantic mother had tried to get it out and just pushed it further in. Made me feel sick to my stomache.

I am loving the pictures ladies. MM your DH is dishy
Myjob. Your DH is fabulous with the jewels. My DH couldnt even be arsed to get me a mothers day card from William.

I reached my breaking point on Sunday night. I was stood by the side of Williams cot and just sobbed. It was 4ish and I had been awake from 12.30ish. At that point DH finally got out of bed pushed me into bed and took William out of the bedroom. Little bugger didnt actually go to sleep until nearly 6am! He is full of snot and the poor thing couldnt breath very well. After nearly 6 months of broken sleep I just broke.
Feel better now so obvioulsy needed to reach the bottom!

Marthasmama · 31/03/2009 21:54

ronshar - Thank you! DH looks a bit rough lately though. You've been getting practically no sleep though haven't you? Three broken hours a night last time you spoke about it? I have been there with the sobbing in the night. I might have mentioned (once or twice) that DH is away at the mo. Two weeks ago yesterday, I totally lost it. M wouldn't sleep and kept waking up to play. I just sat on the bed with her crying my eyes out while she cooed and tried to grab my tears. I was so, so tired. In the end M started blowing raspberries and I just laughed. My mood instantly got better and M went back to sleep. Like I said earlier, I really should be in bed. M will wake up in about three hours and I need a bath.

ronshar · 31/03/2009 22:00

MM I am with you there. William obviously knew I was talking about him as he is now sat on my lap watching the last of CSI. Thank you for the willy info. My nephew stands in front of the TV tugging very hard on his. I told him it will fall off. He thought that was hilarious

JR have a great day on Saturday. Are you going away anywhere?

DD2 has just started with a behaviour chart. She couldnt give a monkeys whether she gets a star or not. I have tried everything else.

I'm going to have to go to bed soon otherwise they'll be no point and I may as well stay up til morning!

Honeymoonmummy · 31/03/2009 22:19

I'm so sorry to hear you're feeling so low Ronshar [big hug] . I can barely cope with Poppy just doing it for a few weeks at a time! Men are blardy useless at night aren't they?? I mean at waking up for babies!

Have you tried a hairdryer on cold on the floor? I set my moby alarm for every 10 mins so the house doesn't burn down but at least I get some sleep!

MM do I have to get all Supernanny with you again?? I'm going to sleep soon, I'm just going to catch up on the fisting thread again first...

CantSleepWontSleep · 31/03/2009 22:35

I can't keep up!

Was it your dh who I said was dishy too MM? His ego will be sky high if you tell him he has another admirer!

Swimming was good thanks myjob. Bought dd goggles for first time and she had a ball going underwater with them! Her swimming has come on so well of late. She was doing whole lengths (well, half lengths as pool roped off for lessons) of doggy paddle.

Thanks love. Are you temporary staying with inlaws because of fire?
Typing one handed small child alert!

CantSleepWontSleep · 31/03/2009 22:56

God no - I'd be suicidal by now if we were! We were just there for one afternoon. Am at home now. Fire doesn't stop us from living at home.

Ds slept from 7:20pm - 7:05am with only one wake for a feed around 3:30am - yay!

Honeymoonmummy · 01/04/2009 08:36

Well done CSWSDS!! I bet you feel better for it don't you? Poppy also slept through for first time in 2 weeks - 10pm to 7.30am

Ronshar, I forgot to say I did have a borderline underactive thyroid which does fit my physical symptoms but I can't imagine that "borderline" would make me feel so bad!!

Just taken my first happy tablet

Does anyone know the most sensitive baby wipes on the market?

aubergenie · 01/04/2009 08:37

Great news about the sleep CSWS!

HMM ? Re your hairdryer on the floor thing. A friend of mine bought a white noise CD that plays something like washing machine, hairdryer and a couple of other things over and over, and she uses that for when her LO is sleeping. It might save you setting your alarm for every 10 mins. I can find out more about it if you?re interested.

Ronshar, Sorry you?re feeling like this. It?s the accumulation of tiredness that?s horrible isn?t it. I remember feeling quite OK when ds was a couple of months old, despite his awful sleeping, but several months on and still not having a decent night it doesn?t take much to push me over the edge. How you ladies manage with more than one child is beyond me.

MM- lol at part-time model . We were watching some Conchords last night as there was nothing on the telly. Thanks for the rhubarb advice too. I think I?m going to mix it with some apple, like you suggested.

Ds made me laugh last night. He?s suddenly making loads of new noises. It?s so sweet. Me and DP were lying on the bed listening to him while he burbled away and just laughing our heads off. It was hilarious, just like he was talking.

Marthasmama · 01/04/2009 09:00

Wow CSWS! That's SO much better isn't it! M woke up at 11 (as I predicted) then at 2.30 but she decided that 2.30 was playing time so she stayed awake until 4.45, 4.45!!! Then she would only go back to sleep on my arm again. Hmmmmm, rod for my own back I think! And yes, it was you that said I had a dishy DH.

Hmm - Has P got a sore bot? I use the Huggies sensitive ones and M has no problems with these. Considering that she has horrible scratchy witch hands and a red weepy scaly bit on the back of her leg from eczema, I would suggest that they are probably pretty gentle!

I might not be on Stalkbook Facebook for a while as DH's horrible evil auntie has started hassling me because she has had no response from DH. She is a God awful woman and utterly offensive. Unfortunately for DH, if she ever said anything horrible to me or my babies she will finally meet her match!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/04/2009 09:33

Actually I got less sleep than the night before hmm, as was up til nearly midnight listing insurance stuff. Was still nice though, esp as dd didn't wake til 7 either (she was late to bed due to all her tantrums etc).

For at home you can use cloth dipped in cold camomile tea for a really sensitive wipe.

OP posts:
jenwa · 01/04/2009 09:38

myjob bet you are tired today! Maybe She is happy in her activity station as she realises she got enought attention throught the night , I am sure theses babies are not daft and no what they are dong

Poor Phoebe, she did not go to sleep til after midnight, kept crying everytime she coughed and was snuffly too. She woke with sticky eyes but still full of smiles!

Lydia never wanted to go to Playgroup today either. Had to just go, she should be fine

MM ohhh Evil Aunt! Can you not just put on your status you are only responding to thoses you like and not "the Evil Aunt"!!!! haha!!! Not being to be nosy but why is she hassling your DH? Does she too think he is a little saucy??? oh, sorry just realised she is his aunt so no that would be wrong!!!! eek!!!

ronshar its a shame we have to reach breaking point before our DHs notice anything glad you feel a bit better though.

HM I think men are usless alot of the time They make mess, smell and are oblivious to our signs of needing help, they need it spelt out!

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/04/2009 09:45

Oh no myjob - dd wears armbands .

OP posts:
Marthasmama · 01/04/2009 09:46

Ha ha Jenwa and blurgh!!! She lives in Canada and so doesn't ever see us. We saw her at Christmas and now she is going on and on at DH about posting photos. Poor bloke is away all week at the mo so has better things to do with his time than put photos on FB. I'm not friends with the evil old trout so she doesn't see my photos. She is just such a cowbag! She blamed FIL for their mother's death as he didn't physically stop her smoking. FIL visited her every other day to make sure she was ok, while evil auntie buggered off to Canada and never visited. M has sticky eyes this morning too. Yuck! I'll see if I can find one her messages to DH.......

jenwa · 01/04/2009 09:53

mm oh dear, I hate people who think they know best and go on and on but bugger off and do what they want to do! She sounds evil! Also sounds demanding!

Marthasmama · 01/04/2009 10:07

Yeah needy is probably a good description Jenwa.

CSWS - DS can't swim yet He refuses to have lessons though as 'they have to wear stupid hats'. I don't know what he's on about but he gets really upset about it. He's such a tart!! DH takes him swimming all the time so he's fine with the water. Summer holidays he is going to have lessons.

Myjob - Do you think our girls conspire? Do you think they plan to be pickles at the same time?

Marthasmama · 01/04/2009 10:46

I meant to mention that I nearly had DH convinced that M had taken her first steps this morning. Duh! Check the date fella. I can't believe he even thought for a second that it was possible. Silly man!
