Hi all,
for grumpy babies. I've got two here but I think it's teething for both of them. DS asked to go to bed at 4.30pm when his friend was here so something is definitely up Me being a good mum am now on here instead of mopping his brow!!!
Going to put some photos from our hols on my profile. Seems a long time ago now.
Got to go, little one shouting. will catch up with the rest of your posts later. Hope all ok.....

Marthasmama · 25/03/2009 19:02

I forgot to mention. M's new screaming talent has a new twist. She is clearly unhappy with her own volume as she has taken to put her hands over her ears while she does it. I had to laugh through the pain of my ruptured ear drums.

Hello ladies ? I?ve been very busy trying to locate the source of this blinking smell. We?ve had floorboards up and all. Had the gas people round who checked the meter and a few other bits and it?s definitely not gas. Not sure what it is though. We all had to sleep in the living room the other night. Got an electrician and a heating engineer coming round as well. It?s going to cost a bloody fortune.

I?ve got a grumpy baby too! I think it?s his teeth. Surely they must come through soon it?s been going on for ages.

I had a smear a few weeks ago ? part of the Jade Goody effect. It?s never my favourite thing to do, but it really wasn?t too bad.

HMM, Sorry you?re feeling so low. Good luck with the doc. And Ekka I do hope things get sorted soon.

Anyway, got to get myself settled in front of the telly with a glass of wine for the Apprentice. Been looking forward to it all day. What a saddo.

aubergenie · 25/03/2009 20:56

Oh and MM - I love the sound of Martha's new move. Hilarious!

Marthasmama · 25/03/2009 21:02

Aubergenie - DH has been going on and on about the Apprentice. I think he might wee himself in a minute when it starts! I've been up since 5.30 and am struggling to keep my eyes open..... but if I go to sleep I think he'll cry. When he found out he could come home early from his course he was overjoyed that we could watch it together . Yes dear, yawn.... .

ronshar · 25/03/2009 21:07

Right ladies I am going to have to go all nurse like on your asses.
Go and have a smear. You NEED to have one after having a baby. I have lots of friends and also personnal experience of cell changes following childbirth. If you think having a smear is bad, try having the ordeal of a colposcopy. Legs in stirrups, worse than giving birth.
HMM, sorry you are having a hard time. Hang in there. It is so easy to get down when you are tired and your body is giving you trouble.

Ekka, sounds like Matthew is putting you through it. Hope he gets better soon.

William has regressed to being a new born again. I have had an average of 3 broken hours sleep for the last week. WTF. I feel like shite but I have lost a stack of weight, so silver lining I guess

Marthasmama · 25/03/2009 21:18

Hey! Well that's not fair! M has been terrible through the night for four weeks and I've not lost weight. Oh, hang on three hours a night?! I think I'd have thrown myself out of the window!

ronshar · 25/03/2009 21:28

Broken hours I might add.
Not that I want to be the winner

Marthasmama · 25/03/2009 21:30

Go to bed NOW woman!

ronshar · 25/03/2009 21:35

I am just folding washing. What a crap job that is. In fact sod it it can stay in the basket.
Night night.

Marthasmama · 25/03/2009 21:37

Yes, it will still be there tomorrow, it can wait. Get some sleep while you can. Goodnight ronshar! Hope William lets you sleep tonight.

jenwa · 25/03/2009 22:06

MM lol at Marthas talent! She will be a bright button!

ronshar I am off for my smear on 7th April, not scared of it, scared about results but rather get it sorted. Cant even remember if its apinful afterwards. Think after babies its nothing just a small scratch! Gosh though if I never went for it, you lot would be doing some telling off Poor you with lack of sleep. I hate not sleeping.

Not watching apprentice, DH sleeping on sofa refussing to go to bed but not watching anything really.

aubergenie hope you get the smell sorted! Its not a dirty nappy hiding somewhere is it !!!!!

pepper Hope your meal going well.

DD1 keeps having night terrors and its awful to see. Looked it up on net today and it said to try waking them about 15 mins before they normally have them. DD falls asleep and usually after 45 mins-1 hour she has one and is screaming and hysterical and not awake but eyes wide open. Anyway, I woke her tonight after a good while calling her anbd clattering around but about 20 mins later she still had one! Obnly saving grace is that she does not know anything or remember anything, just horrible to watch.

heather1980 · 25/03/2009 23:27

evening all,
i had a smear at my 6 week check with dd so 2 years ago, i found out after that you shouldn't have one so close to giving birth i wasn't impressed i can tell you! all was well though thank god but it was very painful.

well alex has been having projectile vomiting for 2 days now, it's awful, he has really runny poo as well, i'm not sure if i should take him to the drs or not coz there's not a lot that they can do for that. he's eating fine but throwing up 3-4 feeds each day. i have some gaviscon left from when they thought he had reflux so i might give him some of that.
arggg what to do.

jenwa · 26/03/2009 07:34

heather Poor Alex. I think there is a bug going round> DD2 had it and heard afew babies having it. Best thing is to make sure he does not get de hydrated so you can go to the chemist and they will give you some diorahlite (cant remember how to spell it) and try cooled boiled water. Hope he gets better soon.

purpleflower · 26/03/2009 08:48

Hi all,

Good luck at the doctors HMM, I went yesterday and I've now got some pills. I need to go back in 2 weeks and I will probably be on them for 6 months

I was in bed by 8pm last night, I'm always so tired it's unreal.

Good to hear you have your smears booked in, I asked at my 6 week check about when to get one done but I still need to wait a couple of years as I'm only 22. My cousin had abnormal cells before she was 30 so I really don't like leaving it but theres not alot I can do.

DS is finally better now which is a relief after over a week of diarhoaeh I was getting worried. DD is doing great, not really interested in food and not sleeping very well still but she is really happy all the time. I'm still offering her food but I'm not too worried about her not wanting it. Can she have yoghurt and fromage frais yet?

heather1980 · 26/03/2009 09:43

dioralite is from 12 months. it has loads of salt in it.
he's really moany today and we had a bad night last night, dh had the bug over the weekend, he was in a really bad way and is still not right.

Heather - sorry to hear Alex is unwell. I didn'tt realise dioralyte was for >12months - our doc suggested it for dd when she was 8 months old, but they've probably changed the guidelines again. Maybe call them & ask if theres anything they could suggest?

Myjob - am very of your night. I was so tired dh had to wake me to feed ds . Shame about the swimming, but I hope you enjoy the afternoon with your friend!

We had our docs appt & she was worried about the fact M's weight gain has ground to a halt pretty much in the last 10 weeks, so we're being given a priority paediatrician referral, hopefully we'll get an appt within 2 weeks. It can't come soon enough because between the itching of his eczema & the upset tummy he gets with these antibiotics I have a very grumpy boy....

Hi, not sure if i'm right to post in this thread, maybe someone can suggest another place, but i'm feeling really down.

I'm starting to become really concerned that emma (my DD) hasn't really bonded with me. To all intents and purposes she's absolutely fine and seems like a happy little soul, but i have noticed in the past that when her dad comes in the room she lights up and reaches/turns to him and gives him big smiles, but she never has the same reaction for me.

Its not that she never smiles at me, but sometimes it seems as though she doesn't recognise me. I have been with her 24/7 for 6 months so that can't be the case.

She has now started at nursery and doesn't seem to even notice me when i come to pick her up, i had hoped that she might be pleased to see me - am i hoping for too much from a 6 month old?

I am worried that her early days may have caused a problem - i really struggled for the first couple of months and really didn't feel like i bonded. I spent most of my time crying and looking back PND springs to mind. Things are different now, but this is getting me down, do you think there is some way to recover this?
