Hello ladies.

Pull up a chair, grab a biscuit and lets start talking about puree vs blw and sleep deprivation

Abuot 2 weeks for the swelling and bruising to go down and I have to put gunky cream on for a week - exactly how when I cant see is a bit of a mystery but there you go

Hows things with you now meglet?

Meglet · 06/03/2009 20:27

Oh dear, how rotten is that? It's not like you can hide your eyes for 2 weeks is it? Do you have some glamorous sunglasses you can wear?

I'm doing ok at the moment, I'm being seriously organised, I should be labelling things up for an NCT sale tomorrow actually- not on MN . Once my dinner is cooked I'm turning the computer off! Ex P is still a twunt, he went mental yesterday because I asked him to grab some Calpol for the DC's before he popped round , which he didn't do . he hasn't turned up tonight either.

The DC's are fine though, I delayed bedtime tonight as neither of them had poo-ed all day. Eventually DD poo-ed just before 7 .

becaroo · 06/03/2009 20:31

Me? Glamourous sunglasses? hah! Might just pop a paper bag on my head and have done with it!!

Sorry to hear about idiot ExP....you are amazing to be coping so well on your own...I would be a wreck after 2 mins.

Hmmm.....cant remember when Toby last pooed...better check his nappy...have a good night and hope the sale goes well x

ninja · 06/03/2009 21:03

Earlier I was going to confess to a minor bad mummy moment of repeatedly banging M;'s head on the car door as I put her in her car seat, then I went to strap her up and realised that I'd had a BIG bad mummy moment. When I'd moved the car seat earlier I hadn't strapped it into the car and had driven (admittedly only 5 minutes but...) without her seat strapped in

ninja · 06/03/2009 21:06

sorry to hear about the eye becaroo, can you suddenly grow a very long fringe?

SnowlightMcKenzie · 06/03/2009 21:23

Ah ninja We're always banging our lo's heads on the top of the car seat door. lol

sending becaroo's eye some healing vibes, and Meglet's XP some growing up vibes.....

ninja · 06/03/2009 21:33

but not 3 times in a day starlight

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 06/03/2009 22:13

ninja - if it makes you fill any better, DD banged her head on the table when she arched back after a feed yesterday, and I banged her head on the luggage shelf on the train the other day lifting her out of the sling, and last week I parked the car and DS popped out and said "mummy, you forgot to strap me in!" with that specs-on-nose-poity-finger look.... and it wasn't a 5 min thing......

meglet, glad to hear you're doing fine, actually it sounds better without xp...

becaroo, hope it's not painful at least... get well soon

Meglet · 06/03/2009 22:42

snowlight are you going to change to springtimeMckenzie to keep your name seasonal?

I've just labelled all the clothes for the NCT sale and have to do the equipment & toys next, but theres not too much of that, phew! It has better be worth it.

CarrieBo · 06/03/2009 22:53

meglet you're superwoman! I love the delaying bedtime for a poo thing, brilliant! Hope you sell lots at NCT
I was carrying ds the other day and bent over to get something and bashed his head on a door handle . Anyone else noticed they've got waaaay clumsier and lots any sense of spatial awareness they ever had?! I'm not talking about parking the car, but things like putting the kettle back on its base and missing

Meglet · 06/03/2009 23:04

carriebo I keep bashing into the stair gates. The DC's are fine, but my legs have been bruised non-stop for the last 18 months.

Going back to the old lady grunting everyone was talking about this week, i did it when I got up in the library after baby rhymetime today. As soon as I did it I thought 'Noooo'!

Hopefully · 07/03/2009 07:31

Argh, after the night of sore mouth, I thought last night would be miles better. I didn't allow for the windy bottom of doom though. T woke with his labour noises about every 90 minutes, and fed every time. Bearing in mind he only went to bed at 9pm, I feel it's just unfair that he didn't do at least one long stretch!
Off to my mother's today for a few days, so she can help out in the night's and DP can have a break (he's staying here). She'll also take T a bit in the day so I can sleep if necessary.

I'm so glad (in a nice way) that you've all injured your DCs repeatedly as well!

Meglet lol at your old lady noise. Hope you make millions at the NCT sale!

ninja · 07/03/2009 08:21

ooops - M has just eaten 2 inches of the magazine I had in my hand without me noticing...

Is this a sign of being ready for weaning?

splishsplosh · 07/03/2009 12:28

I'm joining the sleepless zombie brigade. C went to bed at 7.30, when she thought daytime had arrived at 5.30, it was about the 7th time she'd woken. At least she doesn't usually wake up fully. But at 5.30 she was perky as anything, dd1 awake an hour later when c fast asleep again. Yawn. Can I come to your mum's too, Hopefully?

She's still the incredible vomiting baby. Her weight's fallen off towards the 25th centile line now. Don't know whether there's any point seeing the dr, or just waiting to see if solids help. She's not upset by her sickness. It's only 3 weeks to go now. The HV suggested starting now, but I just said that I would wait especially as she seems prone to eczema, colds, wheeziness etc

Ponymum · 07/03/2009 14:00

Old lady grunting when I stand up? Can you imagine how bad I am at that being horribly overweight and having bad back, knees, and SPD? But the good news is I very much hope to reverse the trend because... on Thursday I passed the magic milestone of having lost 10 kg since DD was born!! I am so excited that I am now tracking my weight loss on a spreadsheet chart so I can totally see all my monthly goals in full colour. Only another 15 kg to go.

Ponymum · 07/03/2009 14:08

But I am not sure how this fits with what I am doing today... DH has taken DD out for a drive so that I can have a cooking day - my favourite leisure activity being indulging myself with complex, time consuming recipes. I am doing a pear theme today.. goats cheese and pear salad, slow cooked pork in cider with pears, and I hope to attempt a pear tarte tatin for the first time (but am frustrated by lack of oven proof frypan). Also an enormous pot of bolognese sauce is on the go to go into the freezer. I'll just have to be strong on the portion control approach when it comes to eating all of this...

And I better get off MN and back into the kitchen, or my free day will have been wasted used for equally valid alternative activities.

notcitrus · 07/03/2009 19:16

snowlight oops, SIL2 has just pointed out the bumbo was hers and wants it back. Damn, I thought I was halfway to affording my Eee there...

SnowlightMcKenzie · 07/03/2009 20:32

Don't worry NC, I was cheeky to ask.

notcitrus · 07/03/2009 22:19

not at all snowlight, I just had to delete my message offering it to you for a fair price rather than putting it on Ebay - I'd already photo'd it and all!

Now need to think of some more stuff to sell...
Bah.

plusonemore · 08/03/2009 07:04

time for a moan please...

so not a great night on friday, especially as I had had a battle at teatime with ds1 (in retrospect think he is coming down with something) but anyway up at half six to get everthing done befoe leaving for nct dale at 8. I have spent days pricing up stuff for this sale. Loaded up the car, including removing both car seats. Left at 8, called in at my friends to pick up some stuff she wanted to sell, drove across town to sale to find notice on door saying there had been incorrect advertising and it is actually on Sunday. Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh so annoyed. Supposedly they sent out emails to let everyone know but I didnt get it.

Now I have had an even worse night sleep and I have to do it all again! ds2 is poorly, temp last night, up at 9, 12, 2, 5, 6.30. And because of the timings of when I have to go to deliver and then pick up after I will probably miss out on any napping opportunities!!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 08/03/2009 08:52

I would be fuming about the sale Plusonemore. Mistakes like that really pee me off.

Can any of the ladies who live in south east london recommend a hotel/b&b in or around Dulwich/Herne Hill? Thanks in advance.

Is the weather improving or is it my imagination?

barnpot · 08/03/2009 14:42

Hi ladies, some bad news I'm afraid we think els has been fitting again, started last week we spent 4 days in hospital, where they did an eeg, then discharged us. hes not on any meds, as drs not sure whether it is actually fitting or something else. it happens so quick just a roll of the eyes then hes back again, the only thing is that he does this around 50 times a day. I hope they tell us its nothing important, and he'll grow out of it. just sick with worry, I lost more weight while in hospital as I couldn't eat for 3 days and I think the worry has slowed up my milk production.
I had the BF nurse come and talk to me as I was blaming myself because they weighed him and he had tailed off but she looked at his charts and hes done what she has expected a BF baby to do. Bloody charts.
he also has a Hb of 6 when it should be 12 so he's on iron suplements just waiting for the black poos!

SnowlightMcKenzie · 08/03/2009 15:05

Oh Barnpot, I'm very sorry this is happening. Of course you'll blame yourself, there is no one else when your baby is so tiny, but you have really and truly done nothing wrong.

It must be really scary for you. I can't even imagine it tbh.

I hope it is just something simple that either he will grow out off, or they can treat easily and resolve.

Wishing you all the best.

Debs75 · 08/03/2009 16:40

Barnpot So sorry to hear about this scary time. Hope Els is feeling well.

Try not to worry, I know it is almost impossible not to worry when dc's are ill.
We are all thinking of you.
