Hello ladies.

Pull up a chair, grab a biscuit and lets start talking about puree vs blw and sleep deprivation

thanks for the encourgement! been doing it in the dark no talking and also cutting any feed right down to 10 mins or so. Gonna go for CC more i think, go in every 10 mins to start maybe? say there there', make sure he has a cloth to chew on...???? The worst is worrying bout him waking ds1 or dh but gonna shut bedroom doors. Do you do your 10.30 feed asleep or awake?

becaroo · 23/03/2009 21:01

Hi..toby still not well...taking him back to the docs tomorrow if he is no better.

My sister was rushed into hospital in the early hours of this morning...not sure what the problem is, but it probably related to her gynae issues. She is on morphine but is better than yesterday. So worried about her, but cant leave Toby and I dont think she is up to visitors anyway

Heres hoping the week gets better!!!....

CarrieBo · 23/03/2009 21:10

plusone We don't do a 10:30 feed any more...been doing GF since birth! About a week after we starting weaning, he cut back hard on the dreamfeed. I used to wake him by putting him to the breast and just sort of started feeding, which would then rouse him. Dh would change his nappy, then put him back to bed. We had a few 5am waking, but I just gave him a tiny feed with no nappy change, then he started sleeping through. HTH.

becaroo and for your sister.

Hmm... wonder how many minutes after I get to bed T will be up tonight - I'm assuming his tummy is still not entirely happy, given the noises it was making earlier.

We actually let T still have his afternoon nap, even though we could probably push through without it - it means he stays up a bit later and therefore has a later 'last' feed, and therefore fewer night wakings (I know this to be true as occasionally it gets so late he doesn't have it, and he's up proportionally earlier in the night). Works for us, we'll attempt to move bedtime earlier once he's actually getting through the night from where he is now.

OMG at crawling baby! T rolled from back to front for the first time the other day.

plusonemore · 24/03/2009 06:53

i did it!

He woke at 4, i went in every 10 mins, asleep again by 4.45. then woke at 6.10, all smiles!! fingers crossed it will get less and less. I feel like hope has returned

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/03/2009 08:10

carriebo - Long Melford and the surrounding area is lovely. I'll think of some places to go and I'll let you know. You'll be spoilt for choice! Have you got an email address you can post on MN?

I can't believe your wee one is crawling Debi. M is very good at moving around the floor on his back, but I think it will be a while before he crawls, because as soon as I put him on his front he rolls onto his back!

Sorry to hear about your lo and sister becaroo, I hope they both get better soon.

aarghh! I haven't been able to post on here for a few days beccause my blackberry crashes as the thread is so big! Just got on the pc so I can catch up a little bit. It'll work on my phone when we get a new smaller thread.

DD is teething . She is so poo-y. Hr sleep hasn't been affected too much but I did have a 3am calpol emergency and a 5am nappy change, she's still asleep now though so at least I've had a quiet start. I'd forgotten how grumpy teething makes them.

DS has been sick-y, I can't beleive the amount of washing I am doing between the two of them .

Jenbot · 24/03/2009 08:23

becaroo hope your sister is OK - let us know how she gets on.
Debi, C is doing the turning round thing too, I put her down on her tummy, look away for a few minutes, look back and she's facing the other direction - not actually going anywhere though.
Mel congrats on the new job

I've got blocked ducts again, in such pain!

jenpet · 24/03/2009 08:45

Good news plusonemore - you've done the hard bit! I'm sure it will get easier, but you know you can both persevere and do it now...I went to bed, and thought...hmmm, I'm tired, I want to sleep until the morning - we'll have a dream feed tonight - but he woke up starving at 4am anyway! So what that's about I don't know.
I don't think S will ever crawl! He's too heavy! He's still not the slightest bit interested in rolling, if I give him some tummy time he looks at me as if to say "here we go again, I'm doing this to keep you happy Mum"....they all get there in the end, I'm in no rush

becaroo · 24/03/2009 13:52

jenbot sorry to hear about your blocked ducts...not nice.

Taking Toby to GP this aftternoon...he is very wheezy after 3 days on AB's.

My sister is home, but not too well. They have brought forward her op to september (she needs 3/4 months of injections prior to it, so it has to be planned). They are not sure what the problem is/was but think it may have been/is an underlying womb infection.

Have a good day ladies x

plusonemore · 24/03/2009 15:57

A is also turning round on his tummy and trying to pull his knees up under him. Combined with rolling to and fro he can actually move quite a way!!

Jenbot poor you i bet thats really sore!

becaroo sounds like youve got a lot on your plate hope youre ok

notcitrus · 24/03/2009 16:10

hello again - catching up. Had 24hr power cut Fri night, thank goodness for bf! And dialup pizza... But nappy change by candlelight not fun.
A is enjoying his food lots, nothing rejected so far. Cheesy sweet potato mash is our fave - he loves it and I like cos it sticks to the spoon well!
He's started rousing in the night but not actually being hungry, for first time ever. Couple times I've left him and he's calmed down but other times I've had to try a feed. Night before last he slept through but woke twice for feed last night.
He can sit well and wriggle a few feet too - who needs crawling?!

So, next thread title?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/03/2009 17:37

how about:

Sept 08: the thread where they may start crawling and there'll be some separation anxiety bawling ....

OP posts:
Debs75 · 24/03/2009 18:23

Not got the crawling yet but defo got separation anxiety. Can't walk away from her without her crying.

digitalgirl · 24/03/2009 18:29

I like it ILTMIMI

Hope the do sorts Toby out bec and sorry to hear about your DSis.

Oh jenbot not another boob sufferer. Do you think we're getting susceptible to probs again because of weaning/cutting night feeds? I've definitely felt the odd twinge since cutting night feeds.

Well done plusone - hopefully you'll notice some improvement tonight

I cracked and fed A this morning at 5:30. He'd been waking on and off since 4:30, and by 5:30 wasn't really getting himself back to sleep. I turned him over to give him some teething powder, then thought might as well change his nappy, by the end of which he was wide awake and grabbing my arms which is his new sign for 'pick me up'. Anyway, after much faffing he ended in our bed for a lying down feed and he slept for another 45 minutes! On his back! Totally screwed up our feeding and napping routine for the day (didn't realise how much I'd come to rely on EAS)...but I guess one day won't throw him off.

becaroo · 24/03/2009 19:03

Hi just a quick one to tell you Toby has got bronchiolitis (sp?) I seem to remember that one/some of your LO's had this too?...any tips on what to do for him? GP says to keep on the AB's now we have started them, but is there anything else I can do for him?

Thanks x

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/03/2009 19:07

Hi all, here's the new thread

becaroo - maybe copy your last post into the new thread? Sorry to hear about poor Toby.

OP posts:
plusonemore · 24/03/2009 19:20

becaroo Alfie had bronchiolitis at ummmmmm something like 14 weeks?? Poor baby was really miserable. Its all to do with the narrowing of the airways making it hard to breathe so I did everything I could to help him breathe more easily- vapouriser on, pillows under mattress to prop it up, snufflebabe on his chest. He woke more with it too, lots of little feeds in the night. My GP suggested trying to keep him as upright as poss in the day too, so naps in pushchair not flat. If i remember anything else I will let you know!! HTH
