In fact, I as thinking the other day taht we should try anfd arrange another meet-up - when your DS is a bit bigger and you can face coming out, of course

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 10/02/2009 19:31

can we arrange a meet up with loads of notice if its not going to be in london? im coming to the next one, gonna stay in a b&b as im sick of missing out

keepingitRia · 10/02/2009 19:37

well, the kids were chuffed to bits on the way back from supermarket as the radio played Ernie the fast milkman in the west
dratted tesco didn't have cough and cold meds though, and I don't know what sort of cough they have. DS2 fell asleep in the car so I think he's not fit for school yet. Will have to see if DH can have an hour off work for my appt. will go see mt friendly chemist tomorrow and used nightime cough meds tonight.

Sputnik · 10/02/2009 19:50

Norty, I'd love to come and cuddle little E.
He is gorgeous!

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 10/02/2009 19:51

poor DC with their colds ria.

is it me or is it particulary cold tonight?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 10/02/2009 20:20

Hands up anyone who waited 50 fecking minutes for the bus in the cold and dark with their tired and hungry LO tonight? Yes, we got to the stop at 5.45 ready to catch the 5.50, but no bus came until 6.35 . Considering it was at the end of a long day at nursery, Jamlet was really good, but she got pretty whingey by the end, as you might imagine. Good job I had some fruit and milk with me that's all I can say.

She was cute on the bus when it finally did arrive though. I was telling her (off the top of my head, we've read it that many times) one of the ITNG stories. And suddenly she grabbed my hand and started tracing her finger round and round my palm, like she does when we watch it on the telly

Got home to find DH in bed, all hot & cold, and shivery and achey. Have done him a hot toddy and some paracetamol and have my fingers crossed.

Bumperslucious · 10/02/2009 20:20

Hello all

Just popping in. Ria hope all goes ok with the dr.

Norty, sorry you haven't had any visitors, I would visit if you were closer, though I have to admit that newborns don't make me broody in the slightest! But at least he would be safe in my hands unlike the rest of these babystealers virtual visitors!

On the subject of tantrums I wouldn't say DD is particularly tantrumy but she is whingey when she doesn't get her way, she can make a lot of noise, but isn't physical with it.

Anyway, hope you all have a good evening.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 10/02/2009 20:31

Norty, I'd definitely come and scoff your LO and snuggle your biccies if I could. Or something like that .

Ria, hope all is well at the docs.

Natty, try not to let these things get to you (easier said than done I know).

Holly, late night, on your own, definitely.

Everyone else, Hi

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 10/02/2009 20:45

im going to bed in a bit.
just want to say thanks too u all for being so good to me the last few months. i been a right miserable cow

keepingitRia · 10/02/2009 21:37

Nope natty, you have not been miserable. You have been amazingly upbeat about all of it. A rant every now and then is perfectly understandable (as is hiding under the table sobbing, which would be my way of dealing with pretty much anything stressful)

Poor you jammy, but bless jamlet Baggins has the ITNG Hide & Peek book from the library and the little poser poppet loves the mirror on the back page and spends ages peering at himself and kissing it May have to buy it for him.

Had better go and tidy the kitchen, I don't imagine DH will do it again.

Sputnik · 10/02/2009 21:44

Natty actually I admire you for your positive attitude and perseverance. I know you'll find a way through this.

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 10/02/2009 22:04

love u guys
is it sad u are closer friends then any of my RL mates?

LackaDAISYcal · 10/02/2009 22:20

{{{{{hugs}}}}} natty

DD has been practising her two new words today.....fucking and bollocks

keepingitRia · 10/02/2009 22:24

does she annunciate clearly? DS1s first rude word was bugger. DS2s was bloody, but only because Granny said it

LackaDAISYcal · 10/02/2009 22:32

Well, she can't pronounce F so it was more pucking bollow, but there was no doubt that's what she was repeating!

I really must watch my potty mouth

Right am off to bed with my darling boy (that's DS2 not DH ).

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 10/02/2009 22:34

lol! daisy thats so funny. ellen swore alot. she used to say shit if she dropped something
thanks for the hugs

Ekka · 11/02/2009 12:30

Daisy - hope you're feeling better. Your dd sounds really funny! I should mabe start watching what I say as dd has just started trying to repeat things!

Natty, you are being so positive - I hope that your visit to the CAB helps straighten things out for you.

Norty, I saw a 4-week old at the HV clinic yeasterday & got broody again. We had fewer visitors this time & they waited longer before visiting. But some of them at east said it was because they wanted to give dd some time to get used to ds & also they were worried about when was the best time to come round so as not to disturb dd's routine....

Jammy, how frustrating, but how cute of your dd!

We're still full of cold. Ds is grumpy & hacking & coughing away during feeds etc. But hopefully this cold will clear soon. I'mg trying to go dairy free to see if it'll clear his eczema & missing dairy milk chocolate already, but maybe it will kick start help my diet .

Dd has started standing & then putting her head on the floor between her legs like she's about to do a forwards roll, but then just standing there like that for ages giggling manically . I envy her her flexibility though! Also this morning she announced 'I need a poo' & when I looked up she'd taken off her trousers was pulling down her nappy . I put her on the potty & I reckon she got performance anxiety as nothing materialised , but I am quite as we've not started anything in the way of potty training yet.

LittleMissNorty · 11/02/2009 14:09

....about fucking bollocks....only a matter of time before my DD does something similar.

It'll probably be something like "not that fucking book again" or "oh no, not big cock little cock" or "Will Sarah Jane scratch Justin's itch?" ....all courtesy of DH of course.

Daisy....would definitely be interested in snowsuits.....we were planning to go out to get one at the weekend....what's your e-mail address?

Hope you got on ok at docs Ria....

Blimey Jammy, my DD would be a nightmare if we had to wait all that time for a bus....sounds like Jamlet was very well behaved.

My DD handed me her nappy the other morning having removed it by herself....she's isn't ready for potty training yet though as she'd pissed all over the cot and bedding and will only sit on her potty with clothes on. If her bum is bare, she won't go anywhere near it!

LackaDAISYcal · 11/02/2009 14:39

Norty, I've got your address from sending the buggy; I'll pop them in the post tomorrow for you . It will earn me brownie points from DH for clearing some clutter!!

Now to find the little pop on bootees and gloves for the snowsuit???

How are you feeling today Norty? a bit brighter I hope. Has your HV been out to see you yet? she will have some clout with the GP surely?

I have started on the toy mountain in the corner of our living room, but having pulled everything out, bumble has decided he doesn't want to be put down so I can't sort it all out and bag up the unwanted/broken/McDonalds crap. DH will be pleased ; every ngiht he comes home to a house in a worse state then the one he left in the morning. Thank heavens for one armed MNeting though

keepingitRia · 11/02/2009 16:25

docs was fine, saw a different GP to the one who did the tests and she didn't even know what I was there for.

baggins asleep across my lap, so can't do anything

I have spent the last couple of days reading a few different threads and it's amazing how much time some people seem to be on here. I thought I was bad...

LackaDAISYcal · 11/02/2009 16:43

I saw you on the disabled loo thread Ria. Very brave place to post!

keepingitRia · 11/02/2009 16:50

yes,I thought so too daisy. I only did cos you did! and I thought there were some interesting points made on both sides.

I didn't mean you btw, today is the only time I've happened upon you on another thread. I have been on here too much yesterday and today too

LackaDAISYcal · 11/02/2009 16:54

I know I sepnd too much time on here. Am enjoying my stay of execution that the kidney infection has bought me. Gotta get back to my promise of one hour a day from tomorrow though; there's only so long I can stretch this out

keepingitRia · 11/02/2009 17:11

surely a full week for recovery daisy? for as long as the ABs last? TBH I end up one here longer when our thread is quiet. If I can a have a quick chat I feel good and o off and do stuff. So it's everyone elses fault, not mine

bugger, baggins been asleep on me so long I haven't made cottage pie and now don't have time before tennis lessons finish and I have to collect ds1. sausage risotto I think.

Am too scared to start my own thread, but AIBU to have felt like smashing a TA in the face today? she is not ds2s TA (whoI'm not keen on as a person but she likes ds2 and he likes her so that's good enough for me), but when I was there at lunch to check ds2 was OK and give him calpol, she breezed past while I was talking to the caretaker (also a dinner lady I work with and a relative) about what ds2 had done to his chin. cue silly bitch being all giggly about how entertaining it was when she told ds2 he really didn'y want to be skidding down the street on his chin! I did not smack her (I was sat under the violent behaviour will not be tolerated sign) but I did say I didn't expect he'd inended to the first time. (she is the same silly cow that caused ds1 to not be allowed to help at church, so maybe I am biased?)

keepingitRia · 11/02/2009 17:50

found some nice veg-packed bolognese sauce in the freezer. pasta bake in oven I will be more organised tomorrow

poor baggins is very unhappy
