Wilkie - congrats on the blue

Shimmer - glad you're enjoying it, sounds totally exhausting

Raisin/eandh - ditto on sleep deprivation. Am shattered. And have so much less patience when shattered

Who was asking about milk? I don't intend to swap mine over to semi skimmed any time soon TBH. I admit I am totally anal about what they eat and drink, but as far as milk is concerned, I feel they are 2 healthy and very active kids in no danger of obesity. I think at this age they need calories, especially since I'm so anal about what they eat otherwise !

We had a burst water main here, which was a PITA as these things are. The whole mains pipe is rusted to hell. But the complete donkey who had the house before us built an extension over the water main, so if we decided to replace the whole pipe to prevent more bursts (or if we don't replace it and wait until it does burst again) we would have to dig up the floor and remove half of the kitchen to reach it . This is the same twat as did DIY plumbing and electrics which left us with an enormous leak in an unearthed house

I WANT TO BE GOING TO DUBLIN on a bender for the weekend!

Have a fab time!

Dragon - You poor thing, every 3 hours must be killing you. Well done on Luke and the not hitting thing. Let me know when you have a got a solution for Ruth not biting. I was bitten twice yesterday, under the guise of a 'cuddle' it flipping hurts too!

eandh · 08/02/2009 08:57

we are here but it is snowing heavily and laying so we may not be coming home today having a fab time went to see joseph last night and ended up having a

2Happy · 08/02/2009 14:21

eandh/lal - hope you're having a fab time!

Raisin - any news? How're you doing?

DH - thanks for the birthday wishes. re: the bfeeding, I have sympathy. I was either pg, bfeeding or both for 4 years without break and it is tough. You do want your body back, much as you also want to keep feeding. But I never had one who fed so much as yours so I guess it was easier. Hopefully she will drop foods as she gets used to solids. If it's any help, though, I remember feeling a bit down at about 6m. Just chronic lack of sleep, never getting any time off, exhausting never ending grind; and you know it'll get easier but it seems like such a long time sometimes. And if her feeding si fluctuating just now because of a growth spurt, don't forget that your hormones'll be all over the shop too. Good luck with the weaning!

More snow forecast this afternoon. It's realy icy now, great for adult sledging but no good for kids!! ds2 hates it, which is a shame because I love it .

Right, ironing or MNing....

laughalot · 08/02/2009 19:29

eandh · 08/02/2009 22:05

am home now I love Dublin

vinorouge · 09/02/2009 21:01

Raisin hope all is well

I am full of cold at the mo. Not much to report. Rushed off my feet.

raisingrrrl · 10/02/2009 08:25

Hey - nothing new to report here, was kept up most of the night by contractions again (well - I'm assuming they were contractions, they felt like bad period pains) but still nothing productive. Getting v fed up now - wish this baby would hurry up and appear! Naturally I'm going to just sneeze and it'll fall out!

EAH and LaL - good to hear you had a lovely time. I want a kebab! Actually, I don't, I want a Burger King whopper with cheese, and have been wanting one for about 3 months now, but the nearest BK to us was closed down after a Fatwah was issued against it because someone got sold an ice cream with Allah on it. No, really. Now the nearest BK is in Watford and I'm really not sure I can be arsed driving all that way! Your photos on FB look really good.

Now - I know this is going to make all the parents of the non-eaters hate me - but I'm a but concerned about Z's eating. Yesterday he ate a bowl of cereal at home, a Weetabix at nursery, 2 helpings of pasta bake, banana custard, chicken wraps and salad, 2 helpings of noodles at home and a yoghurt. He also has a morning snack of fruit and cheese and an afternoon snack of biscuits and bread sticks at nursery. This is a fairly typical day of eating for him - this morning he's had 2 bowls of cereal, toast, a banana and a yoghurt - he's not been up for an hour yet!

But he's got NO fat on him at all - I mean, none. He's not especially tall, but he is very muscly. He does have a lot of energy and is constantly on the go, but surely he should have some fat on him? MIL tries to feed him up with chocolate when we're there, because she's convinced I'm starving him. It's embarrassing when we go anywhere because he's always begging food and I'm sure people thing I don't feed him! I suppose my biggest worry is that he's got tapeworms or something which stops him absorbing calories! Am I just being stupid or should I take him to see the HV?

eandh · 10/02/2009 08:48

raisan - I think he sounds like he has a very high metabolism , Ellie eats loads some days and she is officially underweight for her height but bar sticking protein drinks in her I think she will just have that build dh and his siter are naturally slim so its from him if you are concerned take him to HV but I think as long as he is drinking, sleeping etc then its not much to worry about

Lizzzombie · 10/02/2009 17:47

eah/lal - Glad you had a good time. What show did you see?

Raisin - Does Z always eat like that (sounds like my kind of diet! ) Could it just be a growth spur thing?

Has everyone seen this? I was reading about it yesterday and it seems quite good.

raisingrrrl · 10/02/2009 17:52

Nope, he always eats like this - when he's on a growth spurt he just does not stop eating. Literally, he will graze all day.

Have registered for that thing Lizzz - looks good!

Lizzzombie · 10/02/2009 18:29

Maybe he just has a healthy appetitite?
Its better that he eats like this than like a little pidgeon, like my DS, who will then chug down 700ml of milk before going to bed as he will be so hungry from not eating anything.
(its taken him an house to eat a hot cross bun this evening - I am going MENTAL!)

Lizzzombie · 10/02/2009 18:31

make that 1 hour to eat HALF a hot cross bun.
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH...its not right!

trixymalixy · 10/02/2009 21:09
laughalot · 10/02/2009 21:51

Hi lizz we saw joseph he was well fit too .

Lizzzombie · 11/02/2009 11:42

LOL @ LAL!

eandh · 11/02/2009 18:22

He was rather tasty

Very quiet on here again, I havent had the energy to come on here much I am so tired and dont undertsnad why because girls are actually sleeping better than ever, but by 8.30 I am aslee or if dh home early I am having an afternoon nap just to get through to the evening. My boobs are also killing me which is probably because I am sue on next week, think I need to make a Drs appt

vinorouge · 11/02/2009 20:17

E&H I am tired at the moment too. DH out at a friends washing footie at the mo. I am about to do the ironing. Exciting!

raisingrrrl · 12/02/2009 09:09

Been kept up all night with stupid niggly pains again. Wish this baby would either show up or settle down!

Trying to decide between diesel trains with a friend and her little boy, or toddler group. We need to get out of the house - Z has got cabin fever!!

Lizzzombie · 12/02/2009 13:54

E&H - Could you be pg?!
Raisin - I would be driving to a soft play area, sitting down in one corner with a coffee and some cake and letting my 2 year old run around so I can have a rest. Is there anywhere near by you?

So...am thinking about organising the Southern Half of this thread's meet up. If we wait until Raisin has had her little Raisinette & is visiting her in laws then we could make it then. Whatdoyouthink?

Lizzzombie · 12/02/2009 13:57

PS - On Monday on CBeebies, at 4.55pm is a new 5 mins programme called 'Poetry Pie'. My twin nephews are in the credits of it!

eandh · 12/02/2009 15:11

Lizz - in theory I could be but it'll be highly unlikely

Raisan- I would have done [and did do when g 2nd time] exactly whatr Lizz suggested

WIll have to set the sky+ on monday as am at work

Not been up to much, went to sainsburys as have a huge toy sale and filled my present drawer and got Hattie a tea set and cleaning set for playhouse @ 99p each and Ellie a fab board game about finding pairs for 1.99 and fifi sna cards for 25p, then spent most of the afternoon cleaning and tidying up

Need to go and find something to do them for tea soon

Lizzzombie · 12/02/2009 18:27

I was that bored this afternoon that I drove out to our local Sainsburys superstore in search of toy bargains!
Only a few left, not as many as EAH but my best buy was toy screwdriver sets for 10p! And little cars for 40p.
Filled an hour.
I am soooooo looking forward to the summer when I can spend the tedious afternoons on the beach paddling rather than standing around in various parks freezing my tits off!

BTW - Mothercare now have 'nice modern' nursing and support bras in a 32 back and up to a G cup. It made my day this morning unpacking those. I am such a saddo!

Lizzzombie · 12/02/2009 18:30

Divvy question:
Why are some of our names in purple and some in blue?
