Wilkie - congrats on the blue

Shimmer - glad you're enjoying it, sounds totally exhausting

Raisin/eandh - ditto on sleep deprivation. Am shattered. And have so much less patience when shattered

Who was asking about milk? I don't intend to swap mine over to semi skimmed any time soon TBH. I admit I am totally anal about what they eat and drink, but as far as milk is concerned, I feel they are 2 healthy and very active kids in no danger of obesity. I think at this age they need calories, especially since I'm so anal about what they eat otherwise !

We had a burst water main here, which was a PITA as these things are. The whole mains pipe is rusted to hell. But the complete donkey who had the house before us built an extension over the water main, so if we decided to replace the whole pipe to prevent more bursts (or if we don't replace it and wait until it does burst again) we would have to dig up the floor and remove half of the kitchen to reach it . This is the same twat as did DIY plumbing and electrics which left us with an enormous leak in an unearthed house

Good luck for today pcf/rgee

CONGRATS RGEE
So much for keeping us amused by 'pretending' to be in labour; you didn't even give us an 'am I aren't I' thread! Hope everything heals up quickly - are you taking any arnica? Mind, I've no idea if it actually works, I swallowed it after ds1 but still felt like the world was falling out my arse for months a couple of days, honest!

Hope it was good news for the dh's x

Rgee - Ben looks sooo gorgeous on the pic you put on facebook. Sorry to hear his arrival has left you torn. Hope you heal quickly. Thank goodness for Pip's swimming ring! Was it good news for dh?

Wilkie - not long for you at work now is there. Glad you had a good hol.

PCF - glad the house move went smoothly. Hope hosp appt goes ok and that it was good news for dh

Hi to everyone else

Been busy as usual. So no change there! JUst been getting some car insurance quotes - how boring. Had my hair cut and highlighted last week which I quite like. Went to see my younger brother yesterday with E&S and had a lovely visit to a farm in the sunshine.

PCF - Sorry to hear that the hospital visit was not that helpful. How can Max be treated for this hernia? Does it cause him pain? I hope not. Fingers crossed that your DH finds something soon. What is his 'dream' job? This may be a great opportunity to start something he's wanted to do for ages.
Rgee - What was your DH's job news?

EAH - Are you off to Weymouth soon? Which Haven park are you going to again? We are going to Weymouth bay in 2 weeks time. (I hope its sunny!)

Reggiee · 28/04/2009 10:18

PCF sorry to hear about your dh.

We think dh is ok, but as he's on paternity leave, he wasn't at work to receive the bad news. He's spoken to a few people at work and are fairly confident that he's ok, but don't know 100% iykwim.

BIRTH STORY HERE

Vino /2H the tearing / episiotomy are actually relatively pain free. But I have piles so bad the mw sent me to see the dr yesterday who winced and surgery has been mentioned . Am hoping the creams will work but can't use the suppositories as I don't know where my rectum is......are you all grossed out? It would appear I can push myself inside out . Thank goodness I am actually feeling fine in myself and can laugh about it. If anyone has piles experience please share .

Catch up later.

vinorouge · 28/04/2009 20:54

Rgee - what a birth story! You do write a good tale. Like the sound of the home from home suite! Your piles sound so painful - OUCH - I guess if you need surgery its better to get it over and done with now.

PCF - as Lizz said. sorry to hear hosp weren't that helpful.

I am drowning under a mountain of washing after having different people stay on sat and sun night so two lots of bedding and towelson top of our own weekend washing. I wonder where it all comes from sometimes.

eandh · 29/04/2009 08:39

rgee - good news about dh job - told LTH about Ben and she sends congratulations

pcf - fingers crossed for your dh

Vin - I have stripped all our beds this morning plus for some reason the wash basket always seems to be full regardless???

Lizz - we're off to rockley park on the 22nd June Ellie is so excited about staying in a caravan where abouts in weymouth are you off too> Dh would love to live that way

Wilkie - saw your facebook status and did it may be a bit scary if that happens

DH - how is Ruth getting on?

Not been up to much trying to spend some 'proper' time with the girls as been away alot lately and I am going to redecorate dining room this weekend so Hattie and I off to shop for feature wall wallpaper this morning

Dragonhart · 29/04/2009 11:11

Congratulations Rgee! So glad that you didnt have the continuous monitoring but about the tear. I had a very bad tear with Luke (had to go into surgery after I had him as it went into to my rectum-sorry if TMI Pink and wilkie) and often had to feed him walking around the living room as it was so painful to sit down. The thing I found great to sit on was awidgy pillow Turned round so that the gap is where your bottom is. Hope it all heals quickly. xxx

Pink- Hope that DH gets sorted soon. Will you be refered to hosp for M then?

Wilkie-Hope you are feeling ok.

Lizz- Sorry no advice about the boobs but hope you get it sorted. I get sore boobs just before my periods but suppose you dont mean that kind of pain.

2happy- Hope all is well with you. Any chance of another child in the happy household

Urban- How is M doing now. Is Z ok too?

EAH- Ruth is ok. We got the speech therapist appt through for end of may which I am not sure how I feel about as I was told it would take about 9-10months to come through. Not sure if it is too soon. Will go though. She did say a three word sentence this morning though, the first time she has as she rarely even says two word ones. Unfortunatly it was 'Luke hurt me' as she was sobbing

Vino- Hope E and S are ok. Rachel still wont take any formula or a bottle. She is eating much more now though. Makes a huge mess as she wont let me help her at all.

Lizzzombie · 30/04/2009 12:05

Coo-ee!
Rgee - You poor poor thing with your piles problems. They are one of the main contenders which stops me considering getting pregnant again. I think I scarred DP for life when he saw them during labour! Hope the surgery comes through soon. One of my friends' sisters' (tenuous) had them banded after she had really bad ones through childbirth, and they dropped off in her knickers! that always makes me think...did she keep them???

Lal - Did your mate see her Dr re her boob yet?
I went in this morning to see mine. He was really nice. Did an examination and agreed that it was really very lumpy. He is arranging for an ultrasound for me. BUT, he explained that if it were cancer, I would have had other more sinister side effects, eg. no pain, but weeping nipples, or nipples which may have moved direction, noticable discolouration on the breast above a harder lump which wouldn't move. Wobbly lumps are more often than not benighn cysts and easily treatable. Fingers and toes crossed thats all I've got. My Mum has had lots of cysts removed, but, my Auntie (her sister) died of aggressive breast cancer within 6 months when she was 47. Needless to say I didn't sleep terribly well last night. Anyhow...hopefully it will all be sorted soon.
Girls - I here by urge you all to check your boobs tonight! x

eandh · 30/04/2009 19:43

Lizz - sounds positive from what the Dr said but I can completley understand that you'll feel anxious until the results are in.

DH - Let us know what the speech therapist says, Hattie gone backwards and only speaks if completley necessary otherwise she poodles along, she understands everything but if you ask her to say please and she doesnt want to she'd rather go without than be made to say it!

Had a manic day we started sanding down the dining room yesterday and I was only intending to gloss the door frames and skirting boards but then Ellie and I started to emulsion the walls and then when she went to school I wallpapered the long wall (we spend the first year we lived here removing wallpaper from everywhere and vowing never to put any up) I have to say I am so pleased with myself as managed to join the pattern and the seams look fab. My Dad was going to put the coving up for us next monthg but dh and I going to have a go at the weekend

Wilkiepedia · 30/04/2009 20:24

Lizz - sounds positive but agree that it is so frightening. Mum had a lump about 2 years ago and when she went to the breast clinic they told her they were virtually certain it was cancerous. An fucking AWFUL 10 days later the results came back clear - it was a rare fibroid. So important to check boobs though, I agree - although mine have always been lumpy. The GP said it is 'new' lumps to look out for. Fingers crossed everything OK.

Nothing much to report. Baby is OP at the moment and I am trying so hard to get him to turn, it is stressing me out. I lay on my left hand side and sit up straight. Have started watching TV on all fours for half hour at night. What are the chances of him turning. I AM WORRIED ABOUT LABOUR IF HE DOESN'T TURN.

DH been in a foul mood most of the afternoon which has been pleasant. Was a bit annoyed as he suggested he would take J swimming this morning (last night) so I would get an hour or so on my own but welched out this morning cos he had a bad back and was 'tired'. Arse.

Needless to say it has been another day of chasing our tails, buying stuff for baby and house. Am desperate for mat leave to start on Wed so I can have three days a week child free to get done what I need to get done.

Reg - how's the piles?

Reggiee · 30/04/2009 21:11

Wilkie - so not long until your mat leave, and a bank holiday in the meantime too . Can't help with baby positioning I'm afraid - can you start a thread about it to get advice?

Lizz sounds like good news re your boobs, and v good you had an understanding doctor.

EaH sounds like you've been v busy today. Hope you have your feet up now.

Dragon / Wilkie thanks for asking about my bum . Am pleased to report a distinct improvement over the past 24 hours. They have definitely shrunk so am moving slightly easier. Hope the recovery continues. Now my pain has moved to my cracked left nipple - ouchy. Am being so careful with positioning but it paggers.

Dragonhart · 01/05/2009 09:46

Wilkie- Luke was facing wrong way and in the last stages of labour he turned then came out the right way. (That had nothing to do with my tear btw.)

Rgee- Lansinoh cream was my saviour with cracked nipples each time. Brilliant stuff. Hope you are getting sleep. xxx

well didnt do the flippin link right did I ???]

2Happy · 01/05/2009 14:17

What a trip down memory lane, eandh. Your decorating sounds fab!

Lizz - hope you get your scan soon x

Reg - glad to hear that you're starting to heal. Any more news from dh's work? P still being a star?

Wilkie - ds1 was OP, nothing I did turned him, sorry. But to be fair, ds2 was far worse and he was OA (admittedly ROA not LOA and then tried to turn to OP during labour). There are lots of people on MN who have OP babies and it's ok - either they turn, or they just come out. Don't forget, your body has done it before, and that'll help.

DH - yay at first 3 word sentence... boo at it being Luke hurt me! There has been some broodiness here, I'll be honest, but we can't decide whether to have another or not. TMI, but let's just say that thanks to me not liking the side effects of pills and dh being just shite when the responsibilty is his, unless we actually decide not to, I shan't be surprised if we do (IYSWIM). Hope the solids still improving.

PCF - counting down the days now! How exciting. Sorry to hear about dh.

Vino - waves

Anyone heard from georgyporgy recently?

Are you all enjoying bank hol ? Its peeing down here

eandh · 04/05/2009 13:40

I am so bored, dh at work we've done all we needed to do and popped to see my parents but they are decorating so we didnt stay for long!

I'm that bored I've done all the veg ready for dinner and am sorting things that dont need to be sorted girls are happy watching wallace and gromit and have actually stopped fighting for the last 10minutes

Had a lovely day at the beach yesterday though

Shimmer · 04/05/2009 22:10

Wilkie - like 2Happy says, I don't think LO being OP is too awful. F was back to back, but turned during labour. It gave me evil pains in my side and I think made it a bit slower than usual, as it took some time for him to turn. But I still managed with just gas & air and he came out just fine in the end. Don't worry!

eandh · 05/05/2009 08:25
